Food was amazing, worth the wait in line. Very kind and quick! Bagel was so crispy on the outside, lots of chewing. Excited to come back!

Howdy bagel was good! The line out the door meant they must have something good to try. I'd recommend walking across the street to the coffee shop while you wait to have something to sip on! I wouldn't say it's the best bagel I've ever had, but it was good and satisfied the bagel craving.

Really good! Bagels are soft, with just the right amount of chew. I was happy to see that they offered a really good variety of made-to-order bagel sandwiches and drinks, which is a step up from all of the popular Seattle spots which are fairly minimal. Both the lox in a box open faced sandwich, and the sausage egg sandwich were delicious and filling. They also sell a lot of craft food products (we picked up a jar of chili crisp), store merch, and fun knick knacks.

Was finally about to hit this spot, one of the few bagel spots around Northern Washington I haven't checked out. Mostly street parking around here, I never have an issue but I often come in off-hours. Might be tough or need to go a bit farther during rush hours. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The vibes here are amazing! Lots of well-curated local pantry goods, merch, cozy indoor seating and extremely warm and friendly service.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] As for the bagels, they're very OK. Extremely tough outer skin with more chew than I'd like and the interior is fine in terms of flavor and subpar in terms of texture (I want something fluffier or more pillowy inside). I tried a pastrami sandwich there where they add pepperoncinis and it gave it a surprising acidic quality that I liked but probably wouldn't get again. Worth coming for the vibes alone andd to check it out for yourself at least!

Well done! Bagels were very delicious. Today was my first time here, been trying to get here a while and finally did. It seems like the community knows about Howdy Bagel because it was full of energy and the spirit of tacoma. The guest who was in here gave me recommendations, and even recommendations for other places in the community too. Back to the bagels...... all I need to say is please try this place for yourself! My pics will do you no justice, the flavor profile is absolutely amazing! The lox in a box and the Grit city Lox was my absolute faaaavorite! But all in all, everything I got was amazing. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance was cute! Decor and seating in the middle of the city.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Parking lot in the back, if you can't find street parking.

We finally swung by Howdy Bagel on a Wednesday morning and were able to get inside without much of a line which is rare here! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere is very cute and I love the ambiance here.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered both the sausage and bacon breakfast bagels and both were super delicious! I personally think their rosemary sea salt bagel is the best bagel they offer and would go back to order just that over and over again. The workers were kind and efficient and the food was wonderful. As we waited the shop began to fill up quite quickly so I'd say typically, expect a wait or even a line out the door to get them. I'd say they are the best breakfast bagels/sandwiches you can find in the area!

HOT TO GO on Poppyseed Bagel....Chef's Kiss

Flavor flavor flavor!!! This sandwich is beyond delicious!! It's the Hot To Go on a Poppyseed Bagel and is hands down one of the tastiest bagel sandwiches I've ever had in my life!! Side note: if you like thick cut bacon...eating a sandwich that you can actually taste the bacon....this one hits!! Along with this flavorful deliciousness, the staff and hospitality is top notch!! I even had a clumsy moment this time in and spilled my drink.....they didn't hesitate for a second to make me a new one and help me feel like I wasn't such a klutz in that moment! I truly love everything about this gem of a bagel shop! If you haven't been there, you must go and do your friends a favor and bring them with!

Totally worth the Hype! We went on a weekday and there was a short line. I've been wanting to try this place for a long time. The bacon egg and cheese hot sandwich was the winner! Definitely coming back for this! Fresh made to order. So scrumptious! [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is some seating inside. All the customers are so sweet and willing to share their space[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. What a wonderful morning we had. Americano was great too. We also took home half a dozen of an assortment of the bagels and a tub of the scallion cream cheese spread. All of the bagels have a wonderful texture to them. I can't describe it properly. My favorite is the Rosemary Sea Salt. Head to Howdy!

I love Howdy Bagel! I never imagined myself dreaming about bagels... [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's such a cute, quirky space, with its decor centered around everything bagels and queerness (get it, "everything bagel" ;) anywho...).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My tried and true is their lox in a box with their rosemary sea salt bagel. Their Euro-lox tastes luxuriously rich and buttery - not intensely salty and pairs well with, well... everything they have on it - piquant pickled onions, capers, fresh dill, and fresh lemon dill cream cheese that I always end up taking a small tub home! It's relatively a long wait on the weekends where the line goes out the door and down the block, waiting anywhere from 45 minutes to one hour. But I find myself waiting for their bagel sandwiches time and time again! You truly have my heart Howdy Bagel!

    Sarah M.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere was adorable and had plenty of fun items to purchase.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We tried the everything bagel with jalapeño and bacon cream cheese. Service was quick too. We would go back if we were in the area.

I've had my eye on this spot for months after seeing it all over instagram, and I finally made the trip. Went in on a Saturday and, yes, there was a line, about 20 minutes but totally worth it! I ordered the Lox in a Box and my bf got the Hot to Go, and both were delicious. The bagels are hearty, filling, and they don't skimp on toppings. You really get what you pay for. The shop itself is adorable, cozy vibes and even some ingredients for sale. Staff were friendly, helpful, and kept things moving. Safe to say we'll be back soon to try more of the menu.

I LOVE BAGELS!!! I am so sad that there are no bagel place like this in Honolulu. This place is super popular and there can be a crowd. When I arrived it was just before lunch time and the line wasn't out the door yet! It was very fast and they have some cool products to look at while you wait. I got the special $13 curried clucker open faced sandwich. It had curried chicken salad with micro greens and pickled grapes. Pickled grapes?!?! so good. I got it on a rosemary salt bagel that was nice crispy and chewy. I would probably like more micro greens but over all it was so yummy.

    Meagan G.

Say Howdy to possibly the only line longer than Costco gas that you will happily wait in any chance you get. My go-to order, after trying most items, is a bacon egg and cheese bagel sandwich on a rosemary sea salt bagel, with 6 loose bagels to go and an almond milk latte in my own travel cup. The lox in a box is a close second and always amazing. The merch is to swoon for, and the vibes in this shop overall are just SOO vibey. Come and get a taste for yourself.

Bowl of Chorizo, home fries, egg over medium, cheddar cheese, sausage gravy. It really hit the spot. I went with the biscuit on the side instead of toast. Again, glad I did. Flakey and buttery. Next day I came back for lunch. Had the BLTA on sourdough with a side of fries and a Bloody Mary. The sandwich had perfectly portioned bacon and produce ratio. Silly metric, I know but a sandwich with too much tomato or mayo or avocado can spoil the meal with a mess. Fries were great too. Had a bit of an onion ting taste to it which wasn't unpleasant at all. Bloody Mary was mid. Came with skewer of jack cheese, olive, pepper round chunk, pickled asparagus, and celery.

I literally ate everything on my plate. Then we came back on a Saturday early evening. And the food tasted old. I noticed when I was checking my receipts on Saturday. The guy has said oh you don't have to tip because you're a huge party. When a party of six your tip is automatically included which is the 18%. and I was like oh wow we had six on Tuesday and I left a $25 cash tip. And he said although waiter should've told you it's automatically taken out and the 18% was already taken care of. And I was like no I handed the waitress $25 cash and she never said 18% was taken out and I didn't pay attention to my receipt cause I had children with me but then when I looked back in my car on Saturday night from Tuesday, I realize that she double charged me. So on Tuesday she got over a $50 tip. The waitress on Tuesday she was a Hispanic lady with dark black hair. She robbed me. So please be aware you're going with the party of six or more. They automatically take out 18% gratuity. And I did not like that because she should've told me that you don't have to leave cash. She knew my kids were crying and I was trying to yo leave and not distract the other guest. But on the positive note, the place is nicely decorated. And service is good. I just felt robbed, so for that fact I will never ever be coming back. If you were looking to try this place for the first time come early if you want hot fresh food. If you come later in the evening, the food does taste old.

My last review was honest but a 1star- now they could have ignored it, denied it or even got rude about it- after all others have (see aspen house) But no, they reached out and asked to open up dialogue- they asked what could be done and they APOLOGIZED- ownership and accountability! The communication was on point and the definitely made good on everything! So we set out to give it another go- and seriously- I may have a new place to hang out! As a non drinker your average joint has water juice or soda- not here The selection of non alcoholic beers and the DELICIOUS MOCKTAILS!!!! A place that doesn't get upset when you order a fancy non alcoholic drink- and you get the feel of being a part of it all not just sippin a soda! Loooved ! Personally hooked on the sweet n tangy- (Sweet & Tangy DHOS Orange, lemon & lime juice, simple, & raspberry puree ) ---delicious! My partner tried a couple non alcoholic beers he didn't even know existed- excellent variety to make everyone feel a part of the crowd!! And if you love a good drink?? They only carry high end liquor and make their drinks definitely top notch! The kind of place that values quality!!! While keeping the prices competitive and honest! Now the food- BRIE- ohhhh the Brie dishes!!! Not many places create food art- creative delicious classic combos with a unique twist! Absolutely the place to check out and try a new dish! Unique items that I'm dying to go back for!!! One definitely to try-- "Apple Brie Grilled Cheese Apple chutney with caramelized onions, granny smith apple slices, brie & cheddar cheese, melted between parmesan crusted 3 Hearts Bread" yummmmmmm The best part though- the people- friendly outgoing crew that you can tell genuinely care about each other and also care about making sure that the people stopping by have a wonderful experience!!! If you're in the area or live near there- check them out- definitely the kinda place to stop in on the regular and make it a thing!!!! Can be smidge hard to find due to construction that should end soon but worth the hunt!!! A total Gem!! Good quality food, excellent service, and a 10/10 place to stop in! After what I believe to have been 2 years of saying that, that day has finally come. First, parking near the restaurant was limited, however finding parking in the residential area was fine. We found parking about 2 minutes away from the restaurant. As we came with my best friend, who, by the way, was the reason why I finally stepped foot here, wait time wasn't long as she came about 5 minutes earlier than I. We came for brunch and it was busy but the wait was not bad at all. The both of us ordered the same items on the menu from both the drinks, the main and dessert - a sangria, Shakshuka with lamb, and beignets. We also brought our daughters with us. They ordered a cheeseburger with a side of caesar salad and a mac n cheese dish from the kids menu. Our orders were delicious, although I was expecting the shakshuka dish to be heftier. For the price - $17. xx with an additional $4 to add lamb - it was a little disappointing, to be honest, especially since it was lacking in the lamb department. I was still hungry but thankfully I had my 4 year old's leftover cheeseburger and salad to fill me right up. As for the beignets, it was good. I don't have anything to compare it to since I don't know what an actual beignet tastes like. Would I return? Sure.

Finally got a chance to try it at noon today, and it was a great experience! Environment: The overall vibe is very American. There were TVs on the walls constantly playing various ball games, like today's playoff game between the Thunder and the Lakers. It was pretty busy on the weekend, especially the outdoor seating area, which was almost full. The building is an old structure dating back to the 1900s. Though it shows its age, it's very clean both inside and out--you can tell the owner really cares. Service: Our waitress was very, very friendly and professional. She gave us great recommendations, always served with a smile, checked in on us during the meal, and refilled our water. Very satisfied! Taste: Pizza: There's a funny little story: supposedly, Marco Polo went to China and saw pies, but didn't know how to wrap the filling inside, so he just put it on top--and thus the pizza was born. Personally, I think this is a myth, or many people have started fantasizing about Marco Polo because they think he was too great. But according to various unearthed historical records in China, Marco Polo never actually went to China. In fact, around 2010, more than 20 scholars organized an event called "Retracing Marco Polo's Route." After completing the journey and comparing it to what Marco Polo himself recorded, most of them concluded that he probably never made it to China. Sorry, I have a strong urge to share--went off on a long tangent about Marco Polo. But the pizza was really delicious. It should be truly fire‑baked, not oven‑baked. The sauce was well‑balanced, and the toppings were generous and fresh. My wife and I ate more than half of it! Salad: The dressing and cheese were very generously applied, and the greens were fresh. Chicken wings: They had a pleasant sweet‑savory taste, just right. Unlike most American restaurants where they're too salty or too sweet, these were perfectly balanced. All the dipping sauces were good. Overall, highly recommended!

No reservation, so we ended up at the bar -- worth noting that the regular seating, despite it being a large space, gets booked up fast so plan ahead if you're coming with a group or prefer a table. The atmosphere more than made up for it though -- really well put together decor, dimly lit but somehow still vibrant and lively. Service was good, nothing over the top. Drinks were really good. The burger was a standout -- loved the caramelized onions. The burrata appetizer rolls were also excellent, highly recommend those. The veggie pizza was decent -- the dough was great but the toppings were a bit bland. Asked for red chili flakes which helped, but it could use a bit more flavor out of the gate. Solid stop if you're passing through Tacoma and not feeling seafood. Worth going out of your way for.
