A very popular place that is open Wed through Saturday. They open at 8:00 and we got there at about 8:20 and there was a line out the door. The line moved pretty quickly and the gal at the counter was very friendly and efficient. We got 5 bagels to go and waited about 10 minutes for our order. The place is packed with people in line and people waiting for their order, but somehow it just adds to the atmosphere of this cute shop. There are a variety of bagels to choose from and you can customize it to your liking. I got the Lox in a Box and it was delicious! Very filling, I don't think I need to eat lunch today. Parking is strictly street parking so gotta be lucky. Highly recommended
This place is a must stop in Tacoma! I came for the first time while I was visiting a friend who lives near by. The food was delicious, everything we got was great. Their bagels are made fresh every single day and they are only open for as long as it takes to sell out! It has a fun and funky vibe with fun decor and merchandise. Everyone that worked there was so kind and helpful, even though there was a long line they helped me decide what to get and made every customer feel seen and special.
I see why this spot is so popular! Their bagels are great. Loved the rosemary sea salt bagel. They have fun seasonal flavors weekly. Luckily they had kimchi cream cheese when I went!! They also sell halmoni brand kimchi you can add to your bagel for $1.50. They also have this brown butter miso chocolate chip cookie rn that is amazinggggg. Iced latte was decent! Howdy bagel was good! The line out the door meant they must have something good to try. I'd recommend walking across the street to the coffee shop while you wait to have something to sip on! I wouldn't say it's the best bagel I've ever had, but it was good and satisfied the bagel craving.
Was finally about to hit this spot, one of the few bagel spots around Northern Washington I haven't checked out. Mostly street parking around here, I never have an issue but I often come in off-hours. Might be tough or need to go a bit farther during rush hours. The vibes here are amazing! Lots of well-curated local pantry goods, merch, cozy indoor seating and extremely warm and friendly service. As for the bagels, they're very OK. Extremely tough outer skin with more chew than I'd like and the interior is fine in terms of flavor and subpar in terms of texture (I want something fluffier or more pillowy inside). I tried a pastrami sandwich there where they add pepperoncinis and it gave it a surprising acidic quality that I liked but probably wouldn't get again. Worth coming for the vibes alone andd to check it out for yourself at least!
Really good! Bagels are soft, with just the right amount of chew. I was happy to see that they offered a really good variety of made-to-order bagel sandwiches and drinks, which is a step up from all of the popular Seattle spots which are fairly minimal. Both the lox in a box open faced sandwich, and the sausage egg sandwich were delicious and filling. They also sell a lot of craft food products (we picked up a jar of chili crisp), store merch, and fun knick knacks.
Well done! Bagels were very delicious. Today was my first time here, been trying to get here a while and finally did. It seems like the community knows about Howdy Bagel because it was full of energy and the spirit of tacoma. The guest who was in here gave me recommendations, and even recommendations for other places in the community too. Back to the bagels...... all I need to say is please try this place for yourself! My pics will do you no justice, the flavor profile is absolutely amazing! The lox in a box and the Grit city Lox was my absolute faaaavorite! But all in all, everything I got was amazing. Ambiance was cute! Decor and seating in the middle of the city. Parking lot in the back, if you can't find street parking.
We finally swung by Howdy Bagel on a Wednesday morning and were able to get inside without much of a line which is rare here! The atmosphere is very cute and I love the ambiance here. We ordered both the sausage and bacon breakfast bagels and both were super delicious! I personally think their rosemary sea salt bagel is the best bagel they offer and would go back to order just that over and over again. The workers were kind and efficient and the food was wonderful. As we waited the shop began to fill up quite quickly so I'd say typically, expect a wait or even a line out the door to get them. I'd say they are the best breakfast bagels/sandwiches you can find in the area!
Totally worth the Hype! We went on a weekday and there was a short line. I've been wanting to try this place for a long time. The bacon egg and cheese hot sandwich was the winner! Definitely coming back for this! Fresh made to order. So scrumptious! There is some seating inside. All the customers are so sweet and willing to share their space. What a wonderful morning we had. Americano was great too. We also took home half a dozen of an assortment of the bagels and a tub of the scallion cream cheese spread. All of the bagels have a wonderful texture to them. I can't describe it properly. My favorite is the Rosemary Sea Salt. Head to Howdy!
I love Howdy Bagel! I never imagined myself dreaming about bagels... It's such a cute, quirky space, with its decor centered around everything bagels and queerness (get it, "everything bagel" ;) anywho...). My tried and true is their lox in a box with their rosemary sea salt bagel. Their Euro-lox tastes luxuriously rich and buttery - not intensely salty and pairs well with, well... everything they have on it - piquant pickled onions, capers, fresh dill, and fresh lemon dill cream cheese that I always end up taking a small tub home! It's relatively a long wait on the weekends where the line goes out the door and down the block, waiting anywhere from 45 minutes to one hour. But I find myself waiting for their bagel sandwiches time and time again! You truly have my heart Howdy Bagel!

I've had my eye on this spot for months after seeing it all over instagram, and I finally made the trip. Went in on a Saturday and, yes, there was a line, about 20 minutes but totally worth it! I ordered the Lox in a Box and my bf got the Hot to Go, and both were delicious. The bagels are hearty, filling, and they don't skimp on toppings. You really get what you pay for. The shop itself is adorable, cozy vibes and even some ingredients for sale. Staff were friendly, helpful, and kept things moving. Safe to say we'll be back soon to try more of the menu.
I LOVE BAGELS!!! I am so sad that there are no bagel place like this in Honolulu. This place is super popular and there can be a crowd. When I arrived it was just before lunch time and the line wasn't out the door yet! It was very fast and they have some cool products to look at while you wait. I got the special $13 curried clucker open faced sandwich. It had curried chicken salad with micro greens and pickled grapes. Pickled grapes?!?! so good. I got it on a rosemary salt bagel that was nice crispy and chewy. I would probably like more micro greens but over all it was so yummy.

This is my honest review of this place 1.) I called ahead to order 2 dozen bagels, I was bringing them for a work event. Was told they dont accept orders instead they wanted to honor the guest who wait in line. I said no problem and hopped off the phone, but the more I thought about it the more I realized that doesn't honor people who wait in line, it actually disrespects their time but it's their business model and it works for them. 2.) Since I waited in line, I also got a breakfast sandwich, it tasted good but most certainly not as good as the wait would indicate 3.) Not sure how long I waited in line but afterwards the bagles came out and they were just thrown in a grocery paper bag. I sort of felt like the presentation couldve been aqequate after a $70 bill and what seemed like an 30 min wait. That also didn't come with cream cheese or utensils 4.) Not a family friend restaurant. It has curse words in plain site. I wouldn't want my kids reading that. Alot of other words to use other than an F word. Clearly My #1 gripe with this place is the seemingly unnecessary wait I sort of expect if you're going to make your clients wait atleast let whatever they waited for be worth while. Not from the area so if its not a family friendly area then #4 is not a big deal but from my vantage point, some family might stroll in here with their 2nd or 3rd grader and read that vulgar word. I gave a 2 star instead of 1 because the food did have good flavor. But that was the only positive from my trip read more

This place is very Tacoma...from the mild level of clean to the slightly awkward staff to the quality of the food. I get it, it's what they're striving for and I see why it's successful. The bagels are ok, but a great bagel is hard to come by. The avocado on mine was fresh but the egg, sprouts and sauce were less so. Overall it was ok. Probably not worth the price but part of what you're paying for is that true Tacoma vibe. And they've got that in spades! read more

Say Howdy to possibly the only line longer than Costco gas that you will happily wait in any chance you get. My go-to order, after trying most items, is a bacon egg and cheese bagel sandwich on a rosemary sea salt bagel, with 6 loose bagels to go and an almond milk latte in my own travel cup. The lox in a box is a close second and always amazing. The merch is to swoon for, and the vibes in this shop overall are just SOO vibey. Come and get a taste for yourself. read more

Flavor flavor flavor!!! This sandwich is beyond delicious!! It's the Hot To Go on a Poppyseed Bagel and is hands down one of the tastiest bagel sandwiches I've ever had in my life!! Side note: if you like thick cut bacon...eating a sandwich that you can actually taste the bacon....this one hits!! Along with this flavorful deliciousness, the staff and hospitality is top notch!! I even had a clumsy moment this time in and spilled my drink.....they didn't hesitate for a second to make me a new one and help me feel like I wasn't such a klutz in that moment! I truly love everything about this gem of a bagel shop! If you haven't been there, you must go and do your friends a favor and bring them with! read more
We've been wanting to try this bagel place ever since seeing the long lines of customers wanting to get inside. So. Today was the day. It's definitely a place that has a loyal following. It was bumping at 11:00 on a Thursday, they showed a pleasant display of their offerings. I ordered a dozen plain bagels. Nice chew, soft inside. But I'm glad I didn't have to wait in some long lines, I'd been disappointed. The bagels are good, if you're in the area give them a try. But don't wait in long lines for them, I don't think they're that good. read more
Yum yum yum!!!! Such a cute bagel shop! Love the aesthetic and theme, you can see all the details in the decor, wrapper, and wallpaper! First time here & the cashier was so friendly and nice! I got the Grit City Lox: hot smoked salmon, scallion shmear, pickled red cabbage, raw red onions, cucumbers!! I love the combo so much. Got the freshness of the cucumbers with the pickled cabbage. I was so excited to finally try Howdy Bagel. It was worth the wait in line on a rainy day. I ordered the Grit City on an everything bagel and a cardamom latte. There are a few tables inside if you can snag an indoor spot. They collaborate with some local and small businesses, too, and I can't wait to come back and try some of those items. read more
I have to admit, I've been skeptical about Howdy for a while. I love the vibe, I love the scene, and I love how beautifully they support the LGBTQ community. It's just that I'm from NYC and have found their bagels a little bit... chewy. As in....hard to chew. I don't know if it's just that I have a weak jaw but I have had some serious struggles getting through the crust at times. But on my most recent visit, I took a to go order of lox in a box and it took me to bagel and lox heaven. Pickled Onions are seriously one of my favorite things in the world and, as my photo shows, they're in abundance on this open faced sandwich.So... consider me a 100% convert. read more

Cute little place when walking in! It does get busy there were people after people coming in after us. This was our first time here and asked what was popular. They recommended the sausage egg and cheese and they had a special for this week called the kewpie cowboy here for a limited time it had spam it in I really liked it more than what sausage. Would definitely come back and try more of their items also had a vegan menu! read more
Well, I can honestly say I've missed Howdy Bagel SO MUCH! I switched back to working from home for several months and missed my weekly trip to Howdy as much as I missed my office in general. They never disappoint, whether we are talking the food, the service, or the ambiance! If you can catch them on a day when the line does not stretch down the sidewalk, get yourself in there! If there is a line, it is well worth the wait but it's a special day when I can get in and out in like 10-15 minutes. I enjoy all of their fare, my favorite by far is Lox in a Box ... it's the best. I also have discovered that I love to add cucumber slices for extra crunch and it's so good! (Note: the biggest difference between Lox in a Box and Grit City Lox is that Grit city uses a hot, flaky-style smoked salmon rather than cold-smoked). Their products (other than food) and service speak for themselves and bring so much joy to my day. The genuine smiles, the joyful bustle of happy customers, and a perfect decor scheme! So glad to have found them and be a customer. I'll ALWAYS be back! read more

The lox in the box was delicious- thinly sliced lox on a crispy bagel with a soft center; the scallion cream cheese was creamy, slight salty capers and sweet onions - delicious! The maple bacon and sweet jam on my husbands bagel was savory,salty and sweet, a perfect combo! We ordered the rosemary salt bagel and onion cream cheese to go, also delicious! This place is a must for delicious food and friendly service !! Tip: small spot with big crowds. Never thought I'd wait an hour for a bagel! Unsure if it's always this busy so try to call ahead and order otherwise you may have a long wait. read more
I don't usually eat bagels but really enjoyed this immensely! I heard the line can be crazy but we got lucky because I don't think people knew they were open this Tuesday, Dec 23 as normal they're closed on Tuesdays. I had the Grit City Lox on a rosemary salt bagel. The bagel was nicely salted with a crunchy crust and moist soft bread. They had a generous amount of smoked salmon, cream cheese and the oh so delicious pickled cabbage and red onions. I would love to go back to try more options! read more
Arrived around 8:30am and there was already a line outside. It moved relatively quickly and we probably waited about 10 minutes or so to place an order and then roughly 15 minutes for said order. We ordered a SEC and a BEC, both on Rosemary Sea Salt bagels. The BEC was absolutely delicious with crispy, thick bacon. I liked the SEC but a bit less with the turkey sausage. We also ended up taking a half dozen bagels home and they toasted up nicely the next day. Plenty of merch, if you're into that and cute decor. Definitely a place we'll come back to! read more

Absolutely worth the hype. Be prepared to wait in line before you order and wait about 15 min for the food to come up. The sausage egg and cheese is divine, the service is super friendly and the vibe is immaculate. It's loud - there's not sound treatment - so eating in may not be for you if you're easily over stimulated. But overall this is a must stop if you're in town read more
I am so glad that I got a chance to visit this adorable and delicious smelling spot! We tried to stop by last Thursday around the same time but they had quite a line that almost reached out the door. However, this time around there wasn't a line at all but there were a few tables occupied. We got three different orders but I was able to get a bite for each of them and none of them disappointed. I have to admit the cream cheese here is thick and creamy with so much good flavor. My boyfriend got their roasted garlic cream cheese with a rosemary sea salt bagel and said it was fantastic. I got the bacon, egg, and cheese on their rosemary sea salt bagel which was extremely filling and divine. I can happily share that they truly mean it when they say thick-cut bacon. My brother got the sausage, egg and cheese with the rosemary sea salt bagel and was very happy with his sandwich too. I did have a little trouble taking a bite of my brother's bagel, it was a bit tough as it took forever to get the bite of the bagel. The inside is very cozy with cute decor, ample lighting and plenty of chairs and tables for you to sit at. Our order didn't take too long and it was nice and hot. The employees here are very professional and friendly, they were patient with us as we were trying to decide what we wanted. Definitely want to come back and try their other options! read more
OH MY GOSH! I just had the best bagel and cream cheese ever today! This was only my second time at Howdy because every time I drive by, there is a line down the street. The line was finally shorter today, so I decided to wait. I'm so glad I did! They were nearly out of bagels, but I was able to snatch one. I had a rosemary bagel with chili crisp cream cheese. It was absolutely amazing. Wow. Stop here and don't skip the cream cheese like I normally do. read more
