Why is this $9??? Should have been $3...
    Kevin J.

I was really looking forward to checking this place out for the first time, but unfortunately, my experience didn't quite meet expectations. The staff was kind and welcoming, which I appreciated, but when it came to the food, I left feeling pretty underwhelmed, especially considering the price. I spent $31 on one and a half sandwiches, and while the flavors were decent, the portion sizes just didn't match the cost. It felt like I paid more for the vibe than the meal itself. The sandwich in the picture I posted was $9.00, this is an abysmal size of sandwich for that price. I genuinely wanted to enjoy everything about this visit, but for what I spent, I walked away disappointed. I'm sharing this as honest feedback in hopes it's helpful moving forward. I honestly don't want a response talking about how long you smoke your pastrami or anything like that, just own that YOU KNOW you're overpriced for what people get.

Excellent service. Good food. Nice atmosphere. Nice cafe in the Stadium District. Lite link rail nearby

I can confidently say Sandwich Starr is serving up some of the best sandwiches in Tacoma. We stopped by and tried the Iocane, and it was perfect--fresh, crisp vegetables, incredible meat, and bread that had just the right texture. But the real standout was the pastrami sandwich (Sir Robot). Honestly, it might be the best sandwich we've had in Tacoma. The pastrami was insanely flavorful, perfectly seasoned, and melt-in-your-mouth tender--just absolute perfection. Everything about this place feels like it's made with care.

Thank you, Trey Beattie at Sandwich Starr, for showing appreciation to TEACHERS by treating all the teachers and support staff at Browns Point Elementary to a delicious and healthy lunch! Please support this incredibly generous local business. They DONATED enough lunches for EVERY STAFF MEMBER at Browns Point Elementary (60 Sandwiches)! Our teachers and students have been working SO hard over the last few weeks with state testing, and this amazing gift really lifted our teachers' spirits. Trey and his staff went above and beyond to show how important supporting local schools is to his small business. They even came in before their shop opened this morning to make all the sandwiches so that our teachers could have them in time for their lunches!!!

Very cool place with great sandwiches. I ordered The League without ham and it was amazing. The bread was peak quality and the ingredients were very fresh and delicious. I didn't really like the pickle which says something because I love pickles. Definitely plan on coming back soon! hope to give the pickles a second chance.

    White Rabbit. Delicious!

My second time here. This time I tried the White Rabbit and it was amazing. Sandwich Starr is 2 for 2. Wow!

For starters, This Place is inside Edison City Ale House. We came in for a beer and were hungry so we were happy to see actual food offered by Sandwich Starr. Sandwiches were delicious, Mac & cheese was even better. 10/10 would recommend if you're craving a hit and fresh sandwich. Oh and they serve the good chips, the Hawaiian Kettle chips.

Pastrami is on point! Piled high and thick! You can definitely tell they put a lot of thought into it. It's extremely moist and well seasoned, not overly salty. Even the French roll is fresh and toasted. Employees are actually friendly and chat with you or answer any questions. Best pastrami sandwich of my life! I will definitely be back!

No welcome or anything or a "hey just sit anywhere you want". So I just took initiative, grabbed a menu and sat at an empty table. There's a sign that said "order at the bar" but the barkeep would go to other people and ask what they wanted. Okay, that's fine... Trying to follow the rules so I don't single myself out, I went to the bar and was asked for my ID, but why? I wasn't ordering drinks and when other people came, the barkeep didn't ask the other customers for their ID so I felt some type of way but whatever. We proceed to order the Philly and Mac & Cheese. Philly tasted great because it also came with dipping sauce. The only thing lacking was that I felt it wasn't enough. Plus It seemed like I had more bread as opposed to meat. Mac & Cheese was great also, it was soft and creamy plus it had crunchy bits. It had the consistency of valveeta cheese. We asked for the check, we waited, waited some more so I finally went to the bar and closed the tab that I didn't order drinks with, just food. I like the vibe, its like being in a classic tattoo studio with posters on the wall with classical prints from different time periods. Not a big establishment or room inside but just enough to have a modest amount of 30 people. It's a nice joint but not really for me, I'd probably order through Uber eats with this place.

It looked gorgeous when I took a picture of it and I shared with my boyfriend and little brother who enjoyed it too! Some differences that I noticed is that the outdoor seating is just a few tables and chairs outside so you can enjoy your meal outside and they do have dog water bowls out too! The other difference is that dogs are also welcomed inside! I told this when I received my order and I was chatting with the two employees at the counter. I wished I had gotten their names but they were so inviting and kind. That was another difference, I got service as I feel like that is very lacking at the Puyallup location. I'm a big fan of breweries, especially those with several drinks on draught or tap, and if they're really good, I'll buy them in a bottle. However, I read their review and noticed that they had vegan and vegetarian options, so I thought, "You know what? That's a combination I can't resist. Beers with a delicious sandwich!" A few days later, I made plans to visit on Saturday, which happened to be one of the two days this year that it snowed in the Pirec. It was quite amusing with the parking and the snow that stuck everywhere. As soon as I walked in, the bar was buzzing with energy. It had a great vibe. I didn't think I'd get any seats, but I managed to snag one at the bar with a very friendly person. I spent all but about 3 to 4 hours there. The sandwich I ordered was called the Rainier, and it was mentioned in the review, but the name wasn't revealed. It consists of a field roast loaf, Chao vegan cheese, herbed vegan mayonnaise, tomato, red onion, and arugula on sourdough bread. I'm not a big fan of mayonnaise, even if it's vegan, so I swapped it out with some pesto-style creamy cheese, and it turned out even better than I expected. The sandwich was a perfect five out of five. I would definitely order it every time I come. It came with a side of chips, which was a great addition. The sandwich was massive, so I could only eat half of it. I took the other half home for the next day. For my beers, I'm a big stout-and-porter guy, so I went with the Fort George's. They had two options: the Salted Caramel Cavatica & Matryoshka Vanilla. Both were exceptionally flavorful and probably my favorite porters I've had in all of Washington and many other states. Unfortunately, they ran out of the Salted Caramel Cavatica, so I ended up drinking the Matryoshka Vanilla for the rest of the night and didn't mind at all. Overall, I had a fantastic time at this place. I'm definitely going to make it a regular stop in my monthly rotations around Tacoma. Highly recommend stopping by this place. It's definitely a five. Service is amazing, and the drinks are worth the trip. They have an array of options, which is what I love about this place. Until next time!
