Food: 3/5 Service: 1/5 Ambiance: 3/5 Service is SLOW, like we waited for 45 mins for four sandwiches. There was hardly anybody in there and several people came after us and left before us, super frustrating. Looks like they are doing the best they can, but give people a heads up if something that should take 15-20 is going to take double or triple that. Ambiance is lacking, there's a few tables and a a fridges for drinks. The food, it's a sandwich, nothing to write home about. We had the momma Mia, the deluxe and the Philly. Also, for the record, there was a hair in Kid 2's sandwich, we are on our way out of town and couldn't go back but that was a bummer. The meat is freshly shaved and all the veggies appear to be pretty fresh as well. Meatballs on the meatball sub were substantially large, so if ordering that, make sure you have a fork in the bag too. read more

Don't judge this deli by its cover--judge it by the life-changing sandwich you're about to eat. From the outside (and honestly the inside), it looks like a place you might accidentally walk past. That would be a huge mistake. The food? Fresh, stacked, HUGE, and ridiculously delicious. The kind of sandwich that makes you stop mid-bite and question every other sandwich you've ever eaten. The staff are genuinely some of the nicest people you'll meet--friendly, welcoming, and clearly proud of what they serve (as they should be). You can tell everything is made with care and love, not just slapped together. I'm so glad we got one over here in Lakewood. To me, it feels similar to MSM from 6th Avenue, but I'm not sure whether it's a father-and-son or a brother-and-brother. Who knows? But the fact is, the sandwiches were excellent. My wife got the deluxe Deli club, and I got the Philly. We both tasted each other's sandwiches. She had hers cold; I have mine toasted. Both of them were excellent, top-quality sandwiches. The bread was nice and tender, soft, and chewy. I felt the customer service was truly more welcoming. I felt really included. Decided to try this place after rave reviews saying it's better than MsM and akin to a sub from a deli in the NY/NJ area. Well that was a load of lies...the bread is trash it doesn't hold up to more than two bites before it begins to break into nasty soiled sponge like consistency. The lettuce looks like it's having an identity crisis- half cut on the slicer and then some rustic chopping??? No signage about the cold cuts so I'm going to assume straight from Winco or the restaurant equivalent. I went in 45 minutes before closing and the two dudes working waited a good ten minutes to start on my sandwich after I ordered even though there was no one else waiting for food. Love a good sense of timeliness and respect for a customer and one who tipped though I wish I could have tried my lackluster sandwich first because my tip would have come in a different form of compensation. I came in last Monday for the first time. I ordered a create your own sandwich consisting of turkey, pastrami, smoked cheddar, and everything on it besides sprouts. Five stars for the friendliest father son team making delicious affordable sandwiches. They use great bread too. I have only had the french dip because it was so good I haven't ventured to try anything else. So five stars for the french dip with piping hot Au Jus and excellent service. Came twice in a week span as we recently moved to the neighborhood and they remembered me and gave me an extra sandwich just because they forgot how I wanted it cut (wanted the nine in cut in half so I could split it with my husband & they cut it in three like usual on auto pilot -I was like oh just cut one third in half and put half with each third- instead I got that plus a whole extra which was above and beyond for such a minor mistake). The service is amazing. The ingredients are fresh and you get plenty. We enjoyed the roast beast and the... whatever is first on the menu with the turkey bacon. They were great and I'd go again. But they asked me to write a review and make recommendations on how to make it better. The sandwiches were bland and ate dry. We went home and put on salt, pepper, oil, and vinegar. I'm not sure if that was an in-store option, but if it is, I didn't clearly see it. I will go back, but I'll ask for extra mayo and bring my own seasoning. Well done, fellas. Keep it up! read more

I have found my new favorite sandwich place in Tacoma/Lakewood area. My son plays college baseball at the local university and I am always looking for a great local sandwich place besides the bid sandwich chains. This place was fantastic. I got the Club and it was huge and tasty! They used warm fresh bread and very fresh ingredients. The cost was very reasonable. I took the sandwich back to the ball-field and ate it during the game. It was so big that I had to save have of it for the long ride back to Oregon. The inside looked newly remodeled and the service was great and they had that sense of pride- which they should. So anyone in the Tacoma area- or visiting and need a sandwich and n between games - check this place out! read more

I got the au jus dipper (The Dipster) and got a cold sandwich (The Big Bite) to go for the next day. Absolute fire! Highly recommend! And their drink selection is massive... Anything you want! Cans, bottles, special flavors, Sanpelligrino. The gentlemen inside were so nice and accommodating to my request to be able to have the cold sandwich for the next day and put in condiments on the side for me. This was genuinely the most decadent sandwich I've ever eaten holy cow. I drove all the way down from Seattle (traffic sucked) but it was 100% worth it. The guys were so nice & friendly and the sandwich was unbelievable. 3 different kinds of meats?! 2 different cheeses?! And fresh veggies and a healthy serving of condiments. It was absolutely UNREAL. We had Deluxe Deli Clubs - bread was good, fresh ingredients (a bit overstuffed, honestly), and served with great pickles! I was running errands on Sunday and decided to call in an order. It was about 1:30pm, so I expected them to be busy. I ordered a classic Reuben with sourdough instead of rye. It took me about 25 minutes to get there. I walked in, got a soda and some chips and sat down to wait. It was about 5 minutes till the sandwich was ready, and I was pleased to see they toasted the bread without my even asking! As such, I hit up 3+ grocery stores every week, most of which are high end grocery stores and I travel in between Seattle, Bellevue, and Tacoma to get to them. I pass by Central Co-Op all the time, but I hadn't gone in until recently. First impressions? Really small produce department with truly awful quality. Skip! The store is overall small with a small selection of items with high price tags. I see zero reason to ever step into this store again and ended up walking out emtpy handed to drive to another store. There are a LOT of options for grocery stores, choose any other one.

However, I've noticed that this particular location has been consistently lacking in customer service--especially in the bakery department. This year alone, I've visited the bakery four or five times, and each time the experience has been disappointing. No one acknowledges customers, there's little to no eye contact, and the staff often appear disengaged or busy with tasks in the back of the section. When I do finally get someone's attention, the interaction feels rushed or noticeably unwelcoming. On one occasion, after waiting about 15minutes for my cake to be packaged, the staff member simply set it aside without letting me know it was ready. Situations like this have made it the worst bakery customer service I've experienced at any Whole Foods. I understand they have other responsibilities to manage, but a consistent lack of basic courtesy is concerning. On the other hand, I want to highlight the meat and fish department--they are always friendly, attentive, and hardworking, and it truly makes a difference.

Omg have you had this Rosé? I had it in Portland and it was the bestest Rosé ever. And so happy to see it again here!

When my checkout stand failed (as per design) I found myself standing by, waiting for this person to finish his creepy interactions. Of course he was very put out for having to do actual work (although at least he did eventually do it) before returning to his strange, female-centric, close talking. This Santa hat fellow was the replacement for another person who was too transfixed by his phone to do anything at all, so I guess Santa Hat was an upgrade?

The restrooms are very clean and fresh. The cashiers and most employees you encounter are very sweet. They appear to be happy to help. This is a good place to pick up bulk items without the club fees. It offers my favorite meat to prepare picadillo. I love their tamales. The cooked chicken here is delicious on days when you do not feel like cooking. I do not feel so overwhelmed shopping here when it early in the morning. I am able to navigate through and finish fairly quickly with a list. Without a list, it takes longer and end up with things that we shouldn't have but very tasty to eat. This place is a good place to come if you have to plan trips to park or a road trip. It has most things you need to be well stocked. I also like to stock "my Mommy bag". Well if you have children or grandchildren or even a grumpy spouse when they have been out and have munchies. I don't carry diapers but I pretty much have to keep snacks and wipes in my Mommy bag. This store gives us a variety of things to put in my Mommy bag. It is a life saver on long days of running errands. This store has a different vibe than all the other Wincos. I have a favorite one and this is it. The other ones seem to be a bit different . Well I will suggest anyone who comes to bring their reusable bags or bags with handles. I have a few paper bags with handles so they are good for bread. And bring a cold bag for frozen things like ice cream. The bags they offer in store do tear easily . Yes! You will have to complete the task of bagging your own groceries. So plan accordingly if you have to buy a load of stuff. Or if you do invest in a foldable cart and not that upright kind. Get a small wagon kind. It is great and will be quicker than bagging. Yes I read reviews about bagging your own food but this stuff is cheap and just get a small wagon. Your shopping experience is all about how you handle it here. And this place is a good place to get cheap stuff. I realize too not all good places can deliver to your home. This one is a place you have to just go to see. I like what I see here at Tacoma Winco(not the Tacoma 72nd). I just wanted to add that clarity because there are two in Tacoma.
