When we first moved to the area we immediately started to hunt for restaurants that would make us feel at home. Based on Yelp reviews, Sicilian Oven was at the top of the list. You won't be disappointed. The pizza is not what I would consider to be authentic Italian, but it is very very good. The ingredients all taste fresh, and the overall flavor is on point. They even have their own special chicken wings which taste really good in their homemade garlic aioli sauce. Price is good. Not cheap, but definitely not expensive. Stopped in this specific location in Lighthouse point and was highly impressed by the food. It's more than just pizza. The pizza is delicious. Toppings are plentiful and tasty. Ordered the sicilian fried calamari and the mussels for an appetizer. Both outrageous. Crispy calamari with a hot spicy sauce. Mussels in a white wine base with chopped tomatoes was very flavorful. Service is attentive and food comes out quickly. Not sure if all restaurants by this name are just as good, but this location for Sicilian oven is worth a visit. read more

After eating here many times in the last year, I'm more than overdue to update my review and to up my rating from 3 to 4 stars. We still like to sit at the bar. But now that they've totally remodeled the bar is much larger and closer to the front of the building facing Federal Highway. We most recently came for lunch. They have a group of very nice lunch specials. All the lunches include a salad. It's not as good as their wonderful Sicilian salad which we still love, but it's good and pretty close. It still has the chick peas and tomatoes and a light dressing. Perfect for munching on while waiting for your main. I ordered their lunch chicken wings which are charred and served with grilled onions. They are marinated and flavorful. We also got one of their personal pizzas - which was large enough to share. This time we tried the "boss" pizza which had fresh mozzarella. We normally ask for our pizza to be well done as we like them a bit crusty (blackened) on the bottom. We forgot to do so, but the pizza was still wonderful. We've only recently started eating their pizza. Normally we've gotten their grilled artichokes, one of their sandwiches. Or appetizers plus the Sicilian salad. So far everything we've tried here, we've liked. And even though it's a small chain, we've had equally good meals at two other locations. Our go-to pizza spot when we're in the area!! Haven't been able to find one closer to us that compares. Pizza is nice and toasty out of the wood fire oven and the portions are great. Our favorite is always half chicken reggiano and half pepperoni & sausage. We recently tried the sicilian salad and it was amazing as well. Another favorite of ours is the calamari with the pickled cherry peppers but I recommend requesting the sauce on the side so the calamari stays nice and crispy. Recommend the Sicilian Salad and Wood-fire Wings. For me, both unique offers and both excellent. Salad ingredients were fresh and all worked together well. Wings were cooked perfectly and seasoned nicely without being drowned in any kind of sauce. Also ate The Corleone pizza on their gluten-free crust. Toppings were great but not the best GF crust I've had; a lil too dark/overdone around the edges. I would definitely recommend The Corleone in their regular crust. Service was quick but not very attentive considering the establishment was not very busy. This was noticeable especially since we were sat right by the service staff area and noticed a lot of standing around and BS'ing amongst some of the service staff. We have been back to this Sicilian Oven location several times over the years, and they have been consistently great. We were there last Sunday and they were not as crowded since we got there early, so we were seated within a few minutes. The kids always have a pizza, and we normally order the appetizers, soup and then one of their salads. We had Paige as our server, and she was so awesome. Great food and service, every time! There's a gym nearby this restaurant and after an intense workout I was ravenously hungry! I wanted something "fresh" and looked up the salads at Sicilian oven. They sounded so amazing I had to come try it! Their salad came with the usual lettuce tomato and onion but what really elevated this salad for me was the addition of garbanzo beans and walnuts. You can add Gorgonzola for a $2 up charge. In my opinion if you do this stick with the honey balsamic dressing that the salad comes with. I opted to get a red wine vinaigrette as a dressing and the Gorgonzola cheese did not pair as well with this dressing. We also couldn't resist and ordered a pizza which our server said we can split toppings. So we opted for the a queen of Sicily (not my favorite) and the corleone (we subbed the spicy sauce with regular sauce) which was amazing! You can really taste the truffle in this one! I have visited many times over the years. I will review this restaurant via the following categories: 1) Food: I can think of many Italian restaurants which are better and many which are worst. The food is average. However, the variety is vast and the salads are exceptional. Still, I prefer a more conventional Italian restaurant. 2) Service: Every time I have gone the service has been very good. The servers are upbeat and know the menu well. 3) Atmosphere: This establishment was recently renovated. It looks great. 4) Price: It is slightly overpriced. I would call this a commercial restaurant, but that is not necessarily adverse. It is commercial in the best way possible in that there is a vast variety of food, the atmosphere is inviting, and the servers like their jobs. I am from Brooklyn, New York and prefer a conventional Italian restaurant, but I can see how one can gravitate toward this establishment. I wish I could give it 3.5/5 stars, but I cannot give it the push, as there are superior restaurants. It is still noteworthy that I always determine extra effort in this eatery. Another great restaurant that I've added to my list. I've been to the one in Delray Beach, it was busy but service was great. Food was amazing as always. They have a great happy hour deal at the bar, however get there early because it gets packed! We have ordered take out at the Sicilian Oven in Lighthouse Point, however our plan is to actually eat there and see the vibe. The take out was awesome, food was hot and flavorful. They brought the food out to us which was nice because the restaurant was packed. I recommend: pasta with vodka sauce, the pizza (all are amazing), the wings and the bread. You won't be disappointed. I tried this restaurant at the recommendation of a friend and ordered 2 pizzas for pickup. I didn't open the boxes until I got home and then saw that both pizzas were burnt with black charcoal like crust. I called the restaurant and told them I was bringing the pizza back and wanted two replacement pizzas. The Manager came out when I arrived and explained that they had wood fired ovens at 800 degrees and the pizzas sometimes burn. Nice but not my problem. And by the way he didn't offer to give me a coupon or a discount or even give me the replacement pizzas as a goodwill gesture for my having to make two trips and hold the family from dinner for almost an hour while I went back to the restaurant, waited for the replacement pizzas and drove back home. This place was really good and we will definitely be coming back next time we are in Pompano Beach. Our favorite was the bruschetta--the tomatoes were fresh and the bread was hot and crispy. I love this Lighthouse Point gem. When I first moved here, people told me the place to go in the area was Sicilian Oven. It's a short bike ride and a nice walk from my house, so I've frequented a few times. I'm finally writing a review! I took my son here a few months ago, the service was great and the food was delicious. He loved the pizza and I fell in love with the Sicilian Salad. It's a must have. The salad has a perfect combo of walnuts, onions, chickpeas, and the dressing is BOMB! This place does seem to get very busy (when it's open, I'm not sure now during the covid situation) so keep that in mind. You can call for reservations as well. Today we ordered take out, they have a set up in the parking lot to be able to walk the food out to you in your car. I came on my bike and was accommodated the same. We ordered salads they were big enough to share and as always, delicious. I'll always recommend this place to non locals, but ever lighthouse pointer knows and loves it here! read more

Recently came for dinner from my mom's recommendation. We are New Yorkers so our standard of pizza is a bit high and for South Florida this place is pretty good! We started with the arugula salad, nicely dressed with house-made vinegarette shaved parm and diced tomatoes. We also had the mussels. Cooked well and in a bath of a yummy lemony wine sauce. Perfect for dipping bread! Just wish they included more with the order! Didn't have enough to soak up the goodness! Now, onto the pizza stuff, the pizza! We went for the thick crust Sicilian since it's what they are known for. I will say, it's no New York Sicilian, but for thick crust it was good! It was cooked really well, crispy edges, good amount of toppings and not doughy!! We got one of the speciality pies topped with sausage, roasted peppers and onions. The sausage was really tasty and the peppers and onions were also cooked well, not just thrown on their raw like some places. We also got the shrimp dinner to share. It had 4 large fried shrimp with a side of eggplant carponata and an arugula salad. I like the switch up from the standard pasta side that typically comes with a meal like this. You just text the number they provide when you pull up and they bring the food out STAT. Impressed with this location!! Fort Lauderdale location however, I had an awful experience at, when they first opened. Nothing to do with the food, just had an absurd experience from the bartender, when on a Monday night (legit no one in the bar area, other than the 2 other people I was with). When I asked the bartender to let me have a sample taste of several wines they offered, so I could make a decision on which one I wanted to drink that evening. The bartender gave me complete attitude, then the GM came over and backed up the bartender, saying this wasn't a buffet!! I was appalled. I told them I would buy an entire bottle, I just wasn't familiar with the wines they had by the glass and wanted to make a decision. Brand new restaurant trying to make it and this is how you treat customers? I wasn't expecting a fresh glass each time, I just wanted to have a tiny sample to try and make a decision. Remind y'all, this place was practically EMPTY! The bartender was not busy. I bartender for years, personally. So I'm well aware of how to treat patrons. I couldn't believe it. I walked out. I have NEVER returned. They do not deserve my business after that clown show. That general manager (if he hasn't already) had no business in hospitality. I had never eaten here before but I heard it was good so I decided to eat here tonight. I had George as my server and it was MY mistake for not asking what specials they had. I didnt see the black box with 3 items in it on the top right hand corner of the menu. I guess it was due to the red lights that I could barely see and had to use the flashlight on my cell. So I missed out on the grilled artichokes and you know I LOVE grilled artichokes. I ordered the tuscan bread because they dont serve it complimentary. Delicious warm rounded piece of bread cut into 4 sections with drizzled oilve oil and rosemary and shaved romano cheese. Order it ..it was tasty! I ordered the sicilian salad that came with roasted peppers, tomatoes, garbanzo beans, walnuts and italian olives. There was also shaved romano cheese on top and I also had the order of gorgonzola cheese to go with it. It serves two so I took half home. Another delicious item on the menu! For my entree I had the truffle risotto. This is a heavy dish and the delicious taste of truffle oil really added a burst of flavor to the risotto. It was topped with pancetta, arugula, mushrooms and shaved romano cheese. I asked what the desserts were but passed as I was pretty full from the bread salad and risotto. The pizza is super delicious! Always, fresh, hot, right from the oven! You can ask for "light" if you are not a fan of dark edges. I love the lunch specials - the salad is so wonderful - far better than anything I make at home. If you don't hit the lunch special, order their house anyway it has more "stuff" in it and is even more delicious! My favorite pizza is the "Corleone". The rigatoni bolognese and chicken parmesan are outstanding. The staff is always friendly and attentive! Sicilian Oven is pet friendly too! There are some positives such as reasonable prices and okay service but the food quality just isn't there. I'm new in the Pompano Beach area and this was the first restaurant I got to try out! The ambience is a combination of a bar/semi-casual lounge - awesome atmosphere. Every employee was super friendly; greeter, hostess, server and waitress. The food was very tasty, minus the chicken wings. They were extremely burnt - almost charcoal looking. The waitress said "that's how they make them there." But I very highly doubt that such a flavorful restaurant would serve burnt chicken wings. She was very nice about it and opted to bring a substitution in which I got a Philly Cheese Steak (DELICIOUS)! In addition, I ordered fried calamari as an appetizer. It comes with a very spicy sauce but I opted to have it on the side for my boyfriend. I'm picky with Calamari but this place met my expectations! Lastly, I ordered a Mona Lisa pizza. I ordered The Hit Man pizza online through the yelp. It was very easy to move to the website to order. I was on the job when I ordered the pizza. The pizza was ready when it said it was to be ready to pick up. I brought the pizza back to the shop and the pizza was still hot. I got the thin crust and it was baked just right. The sauce was delicious and the topping of sausage, garlic, red peppers and hot peppers was amazing together. We order the food to go from their website so I can't speak to the in house dining experience, but from the look I got when picking up my order I'd say this is a casual, have a good time and be as loud as you want, type of place. So if you have kids feel free. And if you want to have a few extra drinks and laugh too loud that would work too. The food was all good except one of the two orders of the chicken parm was over cooked and uninspired. The other order, paradoxically, was better. Note that the chicken parm doesn't come with pasta. But it isn't shown with pasta on the menu, so other than the fact that often it does at other restaurants there wasn't any reason to expect it would. Pickup was a bit crazy as they are assembling all of the takeout orders at one little crazy workstation, but they did get it right. On line ordering system tried hard to make it seem like a 15 percent tip had to be added, which I think is way too much for takeout. But I did figure out how to customize the amount to something more reasonable. I would order again. Wasn't a life changing experience, but was was absolutely fine. read more
