It was recommend on Eater Boston to order the garlic bread. And this was the one recommendation I'm glad I didn't skip on ! The garlic bread was probably the best I have had and was everything I want in a garlic bread - garlicky, buttery, and cheese. It'll be the reason why I come back. I also order the cucumber salad and squash blossom pizza. The pizza dough was soft and chewy. And didn't skimp on toppings and all complimented each other. The bar tender was at tentative and let me try a couple of different orange wines to help me make a decision. A nice sit-down pizza and small plates spot that's great for a date or catching up with friends. The inside ambience is modern but maybe a little bit loud/cramped, but the vibe is overall nice. We came here and got a smattering of their appetizers, including the meatballs, white bean dip (which comes with chips), and broccoli. The meatballs were probably my favorite of the three. Happy to see an Italian style pizza spot in central! We've been by twice now and the pizza was great both times. We've had the Burrata & pork sausage pizzas. Both were delicious with a puffy chewy crust! I would recommend the pork sausage over the Burrata pizza because the spinach got a bit crispy from the oven. Even though the pizzas are on the smaller side they are filling due to the crust. They provide garlic oil for crust dipping which is amazing! The bean dip was good, not amazing. This is some of the best pizza I've tried in Cambridge! I came here with a reservation for two right after work and the small restaurant was already mostly full of diners. We ordered two pizzas and it felt like only minutes before they brought them out. These pizzas are thin in the center and superrrr crusty, but in a good way! The thick but airy crust is perfect for dipping in their oil, which tasted so unique and had a nutty flavor. I don't typically review on Yelp, but Si Cara deserves a great review. It may genuinely be my favorite restaurant in the greater Boston area - and I've eaten at all of the good ones. Everything is just so good. The garlic bread, the bean dip, the napoleon style pizzas are all delightful. Probably my favorite pizza in Boston. It's got the quality of food worthy of a high-end Italian restaurant, but is more comfortable and relaxed than that. Don't be fooled by the fact that this restaurant is in Central Square - the food here is better than the North End or the Back Bay/Financial District Italian restaurants. I came in to grab a slice on a weekday during lunch. I will say it was pretty quiet, especially since it was a nice day and a lot of people were walking around Central Square. The vibes of the place were kind of interesting and not exactly what I was expecting for a pizza spot. There was plenty of seating and a solid bar area. It felt a bit upscale, so I think it would be better for a dinner date than for a casual lunch. I just got a slice of pepperoni, so I can't speak to anything besides the pizza. What I will say is this isn't your normal by the slice option. The ingredients were high quality, especially when it came to the pepperoni. Believe the hype, folks-- this is some really good pizza, in multiple styles (real Neapolitan style with the leopard spots and a pan pizza style with the cheese on top of the sauce and toppings). Casual environment that's a step up from the old school pizza shops and a needed relief from the stuffy highbrow places. You order and pay at the counter, and then they bring it out to you. Beet Salad: I don't do beets (or even salads, according to my wife, but I disagree), so I can't comment. But I can't say this: 1) it looked very nicely made, and 2) my wife never finishes an appetizer but she finished this. Garlic Bread: Didn't order this but saw one passing by and it looked fantastic. Puffy, bubbly, melty, and oily in the very best way. Pan Slice - Potato: Lots of greenery on top, so that added a nice textural element, with the potatoes submerged below. The star, of course, what is the crust, with a dough that had the texture of focaccia bread and the flavor of the wood, in addition to an inherently nice flavor of its own. This variety didn't have any tomato sauce, so it's a good one for dipping in the mini bowl of olive oil. A different take and a nice touch. Pan Slice - Pork Sausage: Same great dough that absorbed that wood flavor and had lots of give and lots of crunch (usually it's one or the other). Crumbly pork sausage pieces, onions, peppers, and mini whole black olives lurking beneath a deceptively plain looking blanket of cheese. Good flavor from top to bottom, with no tomato presence, but that was fine: the dough is so good it didn't matter. Margherita Whole Pizza: A 13-inch pie with lots of speckles from the oven and the same great dough flavor, but with the more traditional texture, though more pillowy than your standard "house of pizza" pie. Here we had tomato, with a fresh tasting version (not industrial red sauce) that brought tartness and acidity, along with some salt. Too good not to finish. At 13 inches, it's kind of a "tweeter" size: probably too much for one person, but not enough for two, which is why we added on the two slices; I think that's the way to go here. read more

I'm bracing myself for the huge crowds here on Sundays when Area Four is closed. We placed a pickup order to try their Margherita ($18) and Alla Gricia ($19) pizzas. When I first saw the pizzas I was a little disappointed at the crust-to-filling ratio because the crust looked so thick. I also wished the pizza had more cheese. After trying a bite though, I had no complaints. If you are a fan of chewy, fluffy, flavorful crusts (with a super nice char!!!) then this is the place for you! Each slice had the perfect balance between a slightly charred, crispy outside and a cloudlike, fragrant inside. At the parts of the slice that had toppings, the crust was super thin yet sturdy enough to hold everything together. Our order also came with a garlicky oil that we drizzled all over both pizzas. The fatty richness of the oil more than made up for my initial disappointment about the lack of cheese. I loved the alla gricia because the saltiness, smokiness, and fattiness from the guanciale made the pizza crust taste even better. I'm curious about their other menu offerings and super excited about the next time I'll have another slice. read more

This was my first visit to Si Cara and I was very pleased overall with food and the atmosphere. I partook in the sampling of a pepperoni pizza and the burrata starter. Both were tasty. The pizza was well-cooked, with a crisp bottom and a succulent interior. I am not generally a huge fan of pizza dough itself, preferring the actual toppings, but in this case I found the pizza's crust to be delicious (although obviously still inferior to the cheese and meat and vegetable on top). The garlic oil for dipping adds to this. As for the pizza's toppings, the standard pepperoni was complemented by tiny onions, which ultimately was a successful combination. The burrata appetizer was also tasty. It came topped with a fig jam, sautéed shallots, and honey. It was served with a cooked dough for dipping. The dish was rich with a nice contrast of flavors that melted in the mouth and slid down the gullet with ease. Service was good, but, as we know well, this has next to no bearing on my review. Came here for an early dinner on a Wednesday night and the place wasn't too busy - a few other tables were filled, but the space overall was pretty quiet and almost tranquil. The decor was on the modern and sleek side so the ambiance matched the vibe pretty well. They have a nice selection of pizza and drinks as well as other side dishes so the menu felt like there was a good variety of things, but it wasn't overwhelmingly difficult to choose what to get. We split two pizzas for 3 people which I thought might not be enough, but we managed to have leftovers after so it actually was just enough. I got the Pamona Paloma as a drink and it was pretty nice to drink - a good fruity cocktail! We got the Prosciutto Cotto and Lamb pizzas which were both pretty good in terms of balance and flavors. I preferred the Lamb just because it felt more flavorful with its spices, but overall I'd order either again regardless. They give red pepper, parmesean, and olive oil on the side which made for a complete meal. The price of the pizzas I don't think matched the size or quality of what was given, but I didn't mind it too much in the end. Our service was kind and attentive as well as friendly overall which made for a good experience. At the end with the check, they also give little almond cookies which balance out the meal nicely. Have been here about 8 times now, it is consistently very good. Cozy yet trendy atmosphere (quiet enough to have a conversation), friendly staff, great food. Appetizers are large, I especially like the salad with the tonnato dressing. But the pizza is the standout -- it is true Neapolitan pizza, done in the canotto style with extra large crust, and just the right level of creativity in terms of non-traditional toppings. My husband is from Italy and Si Cara has become his top go-to in the Boston area for pizza. Our only complaint is they took the fabulous gricia off the menu, bring it back! To the reviewers who think the crust is too fluffy and the pizza too wet: that's what Neapolitan pizza is! That's like criticizing a burger joint for serving ground beef instead of a steak. I've been here multiple times since they opened and ordered multiple pizzas, and between their unique toppings (like chickpea chili oil, kimchi, etc.) and phenomenal pizza dough and crust (highly recommend dipping in tomato sauce from an appetizer or side), you can't go wrong. Their appetizers are great as well! The salads are refreshing and their breads and the meatballs featured tasty dips and sauces. Pizzas are also pretty filling. My mother is from New Haven and moved to Boston, so I grew up with the original location of Regina's held up as the platonic ideal of pizza--though with New England Greek style ("House of...") pizza as my personal favorite style, because that's how pizza works, right, what you think is best is all about what you grew up with. Except this isn't the pizza I grew up with. The crust is puffy at the edges and as flavorful as a good breadstick--"House of..." crusts are not exactly renowned. It's not Regina's pizza either, and it's not Frank Pepe's. It's its own thing. It's a crust that's a pleasure to eat, but at the same time, it doesn't turn the pizza into "great bread, plus toppings." The toppings are high quality and well thought out. The squash blossom pizza, I'm still getting over it--I kept tasting something that I couldn't connect to anything on the ingredients list, and I'm willing to believe it was just some magical emergent property, some Voltron that assembled itself from the toppings. I don't know what to tell you. I've had pizza in a lot of cities. I can add an "outside of New York City" to my first sentence if it makes it sound saner, but ...
