I had a terrible experience last week with ShuttleToLAX/Prime Time Shuttle. I waited an hour past my reservation time and was put on and taken off of two separate shuttles before actually leaving the airport. My driver refused to answer multiple text messages about his location or how long it was going to take him to arrive. I contacted PTS dispatch, and they told me that my driver was arriving in a few minutes. However, it took him over twenty minutes to arrive from that point despite having told dispatch that he was just one terminal up from my location at the airport.
Once I finally got on shuttle 834, I and the other passengers on it (including 2-3 children who were made to wait at the airport in the middle of the night) were driven to the multiple stops we had to make in seemingly random order. First we were taken to downtown Anaheim, then all the way back to Huntington Beach, then finally back to Orange where I and one other passenger were headed. When asked about his driving decisions, the driver repeatedly blamed it on his GPS.
I also don't appreciate being told by a service agent that I don't deserve a refund after receiving such unacceptable customer service, either. It is printed right on the side of the Prime Time Shuttle van that if they are late, I don't pay. I mentioned this fact to Jerlyn, the ShuttleToLAX/PTS service agent I chatted with this morning, and she said -
"Our shared ride service from the airport offers No on time guarantee; which is noted on the FAQs on our website. Our private vans are also exempt from the on-time guarantee. It can be very busy and the wait time at the curb is often due to dispatching a van going in your general direction. The guarantee is void because we accommodate reservations whether the flight arrives in early or is delayed; and we do our best to accommodate all arrivals as long as our passengers arrive before 11:00 pm."
1) While it may be true that no guarantee is offered (although I cannot find that claim on the FAQ), Jerlyn's statement makes no sense. ShuttleToLAX has no 'private vans'. They are a partner with Prime Time Shuttle.
2) I'm not sure how saying something like 'the guarantee is void' makes any kind of sense when in the previous sentence, Jerlyn claims that no guarantee even exists in the first place.
3) I arrived well before 11:00 PM. As stated, my flight arrived at approximately 9:30 PM, and I was at the Prime Time Shuttle stop at LAX by approximately 9:45 PM.
4) If a service agent is going to try to convince me that I am not owed a refund because of something that is supposedly stated on a website, they should probably read said website first. I quote the 'How do I know I'll be picked up?' section of the www.shuttletolax.com website - "We only deal with the leaders in the airport rideshare (or, shared ride) business. Not only are they fully licensed and insured, but they all have years (more than twenty, in most cases) of operating experience and customer service excellence. Each has a sophisticated reservation and dispatch system. Some even have an on-time guarantee, which shows how confident they are." If ShuttleToLAX is going to partner with Prime Time Shuttle, then PTS is a representative of them. Printed on the side of every PTS van are the words, 'if we are late, then you don't pay'. If ShuttleToLAX is going to partner with Prime Time Shuttle and have them be a representative of their services, then there is no reason whatsoever that I should be made to feel like I don't deserve a refund when PTS does not show up on time at the reservation time I was sent three weeks ago.
5) After I received this email address from Jerlyn to make a formal complaint to Prime Time Shuttle, I also asked her if there was someone at ShuttleToLAX I could contact about this, as well. She stated that ShuttleToLAX were the same company as Prime Time Shuttle. So if that is true, shouldn't ShuttleToLAX be held to the refund guarantee that is printed on the side of every Prime Time Shuttle van? When I pointed this out to Jerlyn, her response was 'Yes, you can also mention that one'. Thanks, Jerlyn. I will definitely do that.
There is absolutely no reason I should have been made to wait an hour past my reservation time, been taken off two separate shuttles, told things that were untrue by PTS dispatch, not received any kind of correspondence from my driver other than a single text message, and received unacceptable customer service from my driver, PTS dispatch, and the ShuttleToLAX service agent.
Prime Time Shuttle is a JOKE. Do NOT book with them, as you will most likely have the same experience I had. Read most of the other reviews here. Take into account that the Yelp website itself had to issue a warning to its readers that a large number of positive reviews for Prime Time Shuttle were coming from the same IP address and were most likely fraudulent. Jerlyn, I'll take that $24.95 refund now, please. My reservation number was #SL946749.
