Fast, Clean, and Professional I recently hired Shugarman's Bath to do an install of a walk-in shower. They have offices in both San Diego and Anaheim.The meeting with the designer, Jennifer, went well, she not pushing or a lot of sales pressure. There were lots of options to choose from for design , as well as payment options. The price was fair and what I expected. You'll get a lot of materials about what to expect, read it and it's all pretty clear about the process. The materials I ordered actually came in when they said they would and the demo and installation date was set shortly thereafter. I had a large ceramic tile enclosure and an old iron tub. Ricky and Kelvin, the demo guys, came and covered everything they could in plastic (seriously, it looked like a kill room in Dexter) and worked all day to remove the old shower tile, backer boards cut up and haul away the old tub (down two flights of stairs!). They were efficient and courteous. The very next day the installation started. This was done by Manny and Tony, both of whom were excellent. My new shower was going to be larger than your usual single stall installs so the installation took two days. Manny and Tony worked overtime to get the job finished in that time frame, they were super through, and I'm super happy with the result of their hard work. They acted at all times with professionalism and care. What impressed me most: --Speed & Efficiency: The entire project was completed in just three days! The demo took one day, and the installation took two full days. (For anyone wondering, unless you're removing a single fiberglass prefab shower, you're not going to get a 1-day install. This was a large area with a lot of custom and IMO, they still finished incredibly fast! This would have been weeks with anyone else.) --Professionalism: Every team member of the Shugarman's team was polite, respectful, and easy to communicate with. They kept me informed, and I had plenty of opportunities to ask questions. --Attention to Detail: The craftsmanship is top-notch. My new shower looks amazing, no wonky edges or bumpy caulking, and everything was installed perfectly. --Cleanliness: They kept the work area neat throughout the process; they used clothes on my hardwood floors and did an exceptional cleanup at the end. It honestly looked like no construction had ever happened! Full disclosure, if you had a tile enclosure removed, despite all the plastic covering and taping, you will probably have fine powder that you will have to wipe down. It's just the nature of the beast (I can only imagine what it would have looked like if they hadn't taped up everything!) -- Customer Care: They answered all my questions patiently and made sure I was comfortable with every decision. ( As someone who doesn't pick up the phone unless I know the caller, the numerous different numbers that Shugarman's uses was a bit of a PITA, but the employees always identified themselves in the call or text, so it wasn't a huge deal.) -Highly Recommend: The entire experience was stress-free, and the results exceeded my expectations. Shugarman's was amazing to work with from start to finish. While they were not the cheapest, the professionalism, peace of mind, quality and follow through from the entire team was professional, efficient and seamless. This was a lengthy project given the complexities of living in a condo HOA and having to the deal with the city's permitting process. My installer, Ruben was a ROCKSTAR! So hard-working, professional, detail oriented and did an amazing job! We had to make a couple tweaks along the way since to adjust for what was a "load bearing" wall in the condo; and Ruben was so patient with adjusting and suggesting ideas to a solution that was inclusive of what I wanted but also compliant. My one recommendation to anyone evaluating Shugarman's is to ensure you know and ask about all your options. My two biggest learnings were: (1) not knowing there was a subcontractor for the glass in the Master bath, as it was considered "custom" but not the guest. The quality of the glass in the Master bath is SO MUCH better. (2) There are differences in the types of shower pan. Who knew, and not something I even thought about. You can see the difference in the pictures and it does have an impact in the overall "look" of the shower. read more

Did a lot of research and had essentially made up my mind to sign with Shugarman's for our 2 bathrooms before approaching them. The process went pretty much exactly how you would expect given the company's reputation and reviews. Seems like a legitimately good company with good people, which is rare. There were a couple hiccups in the installation (essentially inevitable when it comes to home renovation) but they were resolved immediately and satisfactorily. Only real complaint was that it seemed nearly impossible to talk to someone when calling the company's phone number. I would always have to leave a voicemail and wait for a callback. Kind of inconvenient given my work hours because I am unable to talk on the phone at work except on my breaks. I requested texts only and was still receiving phone calls. Very happy with the work itself, Hunter was great to have around the baby and worked diligently to keep things on schedule despite some material errors from their supplier. Thank you to Jeff as well for coming to our home for the initial site visit, as well as Manny for the service call. 9/10 will be calling them again in the future. read more

Unfortunately we had a bad experience with our downstairs bath and I was very cautious and scared ! They communicated with us from the very first phone call until the very end of the installation. Everyone was so pleasant and helpful. We couldn't be happier with the finished product. And they also recommended a father & son handyman team to finish our dream bathroom. This included installing the new vanity , toilet , mirror , lighting , and my favorite,, the new flooring. Shugarmans bath truly knows how to treat their customers and they are a great family business. They realize that customers come first. I first met Jeff from Sugarmans Bath who was thorough at explaining what they had to offer and he was extremely professional, patient, friendly and thoroughly explained everything. I had an old outdated 70s style tub, no shower in my mobile home. I needed a functional shower. During the wait after signing and ordering, Jeff always got back to me promptly if I had questions. Next step came Lindsey who scheduled my install. Same as Jeff, professional and friendly. The day of install Zech not only contacted me when Lindsey said he would but was here the time he told me he would be here. Hunter was right behind him and they immediately got to work. This is a little different. I want to provide a review prior to any work being started. We met Phil and his supervisor designer Lilly today for a project quote on a shower remodel. My wife Karen and I have never been so impressed with the transparency of the project design and costs. Both Phil and Lilly new about the materials, build, factory and was able all questions to our satisfaction. They were professional and knowledgeable about the manufacturing process and yes we made some minor changes toward the end of the meeting. To our surprise they were not frustrated and looking only to close the deal. Moreover, as seniors we wanted assurances on the warranties. They were able to answer all the questions around " what if this happens" what then... who do we call... who is our contact... suppose he is out sick.... I tell you nothing was left to chance. As a senior and retired veteran on a fixed income , you imagine, we are looking for quality, a project done on scale and according to what was represented by company employees. Now the project has not even begun; however, I am positive the job will be done based on our expectation. I believe it so, I am writing this review before the job starts. I am laughing as I write this because I read the one star review from someone who DID NOT even hire Shugarman. In my opinion you should not be able to review a service oriented company if you didn't even obtain services! Also, they didn't lose you, you lost them! Anywho...on to my five star review... We had such an amazing experience with Shugarman! And fun fact, we only spoke to live people AND ALL our questions were answered! We recently redid our bath for my disabled uncle so that he could be easily rolled into the shower. It may not be the aesthetic that most people desire, but it is what we needed for him to be comfortable and they accommodated. Our sales person Jeff was quick to answer questions and get the ball rolling with measurements and we were quoted an 8-10 week timeline. We were very fortunate in that our materials came in sooner, HOA approval was handled and we had a new shower a few weeks before the expected timeline! It took 1 1/2 days to install and we couldn't be happier! Due to our condos build, Tony (who is amazing by the way) had to redo some of the piping. That is one reason why we chose Shugarman as not only do they install, but they are remediator's and plumbers so any issues that happened behind the walls were covered and let's be honest that's the scariest part. I recently hired Shugarmans Bath to install a walk in. Shower. I personally chose the shower walls, the glass doors,and fixtures. The demolition and installation were completed in two days. Very professionally done. However, the colour and design of the shower were far different than I had chose when the salesman came to my house with his book of samples. I notified the company and talked to the sales man he told me that the colours installed was the colour one I picked out. He said it may be the lighting. No. It's completely different and I would not have picked this out as it clashed with the walls. The company production manager called me that she would be coming out to look at the shower. I asked her to bring the book of samples with her so we both could see what I picked out. When she came she did not have the samples. She looked at the shower and said it must be the lighting making it look different. How does lighting change a biege colour to dark olive green? My concern was ignored. I will have to paint the bathroom a different colour so it will match. read more
