Dirty sodas are your typical soda but with other things added to it, purée's, cream, a specialty syrup. I was so excited to come try their hot dogs and their drinks and to know they are open. They are located in the YMCA parking lot. So I ordered Peach n Beach with Dr. Pepper, my oldest daughter got ocean Breeze with coconut creme with an energy drink in it, my youngest daughter got Doc is in with Dr. Pepper, and my Hubby got Peach for the stars. I order the Guac N' Roll dawg because I love guac! We all loved everything! I especially loved the hot dog. Where I used to live in CA we had a specialty hot dog place that I loved and have missed it the 6 years since I lived here. I'm so excited that we have a place now to get them. Now, every time I'm heading north for work, I deliberately route myself through Albany just to stop at Pepper Tree and grab one of their breakfast burritos. I don't care if it adds time to my drive or even makes me a little late to a project. They're THAT darn good! Today was an especially cool experience. One of the employees had called in sick, and there was the owner himself, behind the counter, rolling up his sleeves and keeping things running. I have a ton of respect for an owner who isn't afraid to jump in, do the work, and take care of his customers. That's exactly the kind of local business I love supporting. Incredible food, genuine people, and an owner who clearly cares about what he's built. If you're anywhere near Albany, do yourself a favor and stop by Pepper Tree Sausage House.
