A burger shack with walk up and drive thru service. They have wonderful ice cream cones with flavors swirled in. Their crinkle cut fries are the best in town and try the fry dipping sauce too- so good. They also have a number of shake flavors and delicious Sundaes. Exactly what you need from a place like this and it's good. The only thing I don't love is the fries, but other than that, solid choice.

I scream for ice cream! Whether a hot day or a rainy day this is a must stop heading thru Albany to Corvallis. We waited 20 minutes in the drive thru line for these cones. Now this place is on my way home so I do stop quite a bit and yes I recommend this place. Please just have patients. They are most of the time pretty busy and the food is made to order so it's hot. I take everyone there even my kids ( well my 2 dogs) to get there favorites. A small vanilla cone for my lab and a small cone in a cup for my little one lol. Oh and some fries after I cool them down. Everything is good there from there beef hamburgers to there fish burger and there fries are awesomely hot and good. The girls that take your orders deserve there tips always. I'm sorry to leave this review, I have been going to hasty freeze all of my life and never had an experience like this. On Saturday night (2/17), my order was wrong when I received it and I had a hole in my cup that had my milkshake in it. I returned, and I was told ,I would have to pay for a new sandwich and shake, they wouldn't make their wrong, right. I was shocked and asked to speak with a manager and very young girl came out and it was clear she was not the manager, she told me the same thing. After being treated terribly and all the staff smirking at me, I paid for the sandwich and went home. I was told by others that there is not a manager, just an owner and they were hard to reach. I hope their customer service improves and the young girls working there, learn that is not how you treat customers or people. read more

Finally stopped in here and tried a few items. I got some chicken and fries, and a butterscotch sundae. I got my fiancé a peanut butter shake. The chicken was good, they were thin strips which I like. They have crinkle cut fries, my favorite, so no complaints. Sundaes come in small and large, and it's only a .25 or .50 cent difference. I asked if the large was really big, and the lady at the window said it was, so I got the small. It was plenty big, with TONS of topping. The ice cream is lighter on the sweetness, which is another positive for me. I was surprised how much butterscotch they put on it, and that was another positive. My fiancé really liked the shake too. Overall, a good value, and a nice treat. There was only 1 car in front of me, and it did take a little while to get to the window, but my order came up pretty fast. The staff was nice too. I used to like going there,. I understand it takes a bit longer than usual. I stopped by today gave my order, the gal ( that didnt have current regulation food saftey nails) i was asking the cost she rudley shut the window as I was speaking, pulled out her phone ran back to where the two people were dropping the fries and making burgers . She showed them thier phone then they kept looking back at me laughing, then she went to the front walk up window and whispered something to her coworkwer there,she too in turn looked at me and laughed. We stopped here based on reviews, and were surprised but not disappointed. This is a 2 lane drive through building (like a coffee kiosk), so small you would pass it if you blinked. The wait was fairly long, about 20 minutes to get to the window, but since we weren't in a hurry, we didn't mind. The girl who took our order was friendly and the wait didn't seem too long for our food, though the girl commented that she couldn't figure out what was taking the cooks so long with our order. My hubby and I both ordered slushies which harkened us back to our childhoods. We had deluxe burgers, which are really just a regular burger with "the works", and while they didn't look like anything special, they were cooked well and tasted really good. Normally they have decent ice cream and the people are friendly, unfortunately I waited 35 minutes in the drive thru on one side while 8 cars went thru the other drive thru I was beyond upset I saw multiple crowds of people get served at the windows. And very quickly being ordered and leaving with food items aswell, 2 cars in front of me the one infront of me i feel bad for she was waiting prior to my arrival and when it finally came my turn in the window they proceeded to make my family wait another 15 mins before even asking my order I drove off. I'd been hearing for a year now from friends of mine that are OSU grads that Hasty Freez is undeniably yummy and worth the drive from Eugene. Welp.... finally succumbed to my hunger and curiosity. Given the (covid) state affairs these days... there was a pretty lengthy wait on both drive-up windows, as well as the walk-up. Surely this was a sign of good things to come, yeah? So I happily waited as long as it took. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger (king?) with an extra patty, vanilla shake, fries, and onion rings. I drove down the road to the river, reclined my seat, and began my binge. After the dust settled I was left with a surprising amount of disappointment. The food was definitely not drive from Eugene to get a burger good. In fact, I don't think it's drive past any Carl's Jr. good. But I of course think it's a YMMV type thing. I encourage you to try them out. I love supporting small business and am happy to do so. But i am also a fan of getting full and enjoying delicious food. Hasty freez left me hanging on the former, mostly satisfied me on the latter. All in all it's equivalent to dozens of other over-hyped burger shacks I've been to. Small town Oregon favorite! I had their cherry shake and fried chicken on the hottest day in Oregon ON RECORD. Hasty Freeze is what you might expect. The cherry was the artificial flavor but not medicinal tasting. The fried chicken is way better than KFC or chick fil A. it was salty and crispy with tender chicken inside. It doesn't look like much but it has been around for ages. You have to stop by and check them out! read more

Generally the wait in the drive through is long at 10-15m and that's whatever. But today we sat in the drive through for 30m prior to even placing our order of 2 shakes and then another 10m after. Everyone who walked up to the window (after we pulled in), served in 10m max, other line moved 3x before our line moved even once. No one had any clue or sense of urgency whatsoever. Twice in past visits their grilled cheese was cheese microwaved on a hamburger bun. I'm all for small businesses but this seems to be ran by children who have zero sense of what a business is. They weren't wearing masks either although it's state mandate right now. I tried giving them chances (because I like the shakes) but 3strikes. Their shakes are yummy (the only reason even 1 star was given) but even the best of restaurants don't have a 40m wait time. read more
