Catfish BLT with Tots
Danny L.

What a great little spot! Let's be honest, you usually don't expect much from small town restaurants. This one is different! I ordered the catfish BLT. I had never seen one before and decided to give it a shot and it was great! The fish was light and flakey and the batter was not overwhelming. The tots were great as well. I highly recommend giving this unique sandwich a try! My son loved his burger, and his fries were good as well. The staff were polite and friendly and fast. Our drinks stayed full the whole time. I highly recommend Shooters if you are passing through Byers!

Great food and service! I don't live near here, but if I did I would definitely be a regular.

When a new place opens up out east - it's a big deal! There's no exception when it comes to Shooters Bar & Grill. After stopping by here a handful of times, I think it's safe to say they check the boxes. SPACE: At Shooters Bar & Grill, there are 3 distinct spaces to suite your dining environment needs. First is the main dining room - complete with bar seating, high tops, low tops, and booths. Second is the outdoor patio - perfect for those warm sunny days. Third is the billiards room - with 2 quarter tables, a jukebox, and high tops throughout. There's ample tvs throughout the indoor spaces to ensure you don't miss a moment of the game, and ring toss games to keep you entertained during the commercials. SIPS: They offer a variety of creative cocktails and draft beers. I've sipped on the blackberry crown lemonade and the ass kickin' mule. Both were refreshing and delicious. My husband usually sticks to the draft beers or Jack and Coke. SUSTENANCE: We've sampled a wide variety of the menu at this point. My personal favorites are the elote bites, steak nachos, french dip, and shrimp po boy, and cajun chicken sandwich. Portions are on point for the prices and everything tastes fresh. SERVICE: For the most part, the servers are quite attentive. I have noticed during our last few visits, the wait-times have increased substantially. Typically, we visit with either another couple or a moderately sized group. With the larger group, I totally get an extended wait time, but for a group of four it's a little rough. So just make sure you aren't starving when you come. So excited to have another meal option out on the Eastern Plains. Shooters Bar & Grill will continue to be on our dining out date night rotation for sure!

Nachos with Pork Carnitas.

Our server was literally the sweetest. Such a great personality & attentive service. We loved her. Food was pretty good. My daughter & I liked it more than my husband did. We ordered the nachos with pork carnitas and the boneless chicken wings. (Their ranch is the good kind... not the plastic/fake-tasting kind that some restaurants have!) Dessert was a warm Skillet brownie with ice cream which was delish. We really liked the vibe of the place, too... it was unexpectedly great. I can see how it would be a fun place to watch a game. Def will be back.

The food was really good and the waitress checked on us frequently. However, the food took forever to come out. We waited an hour on a Tuesday afternoon. The restaurant itself is very clean and organized. Would recommend coming here if they're slow.

Awesome!

Service and food was amazing!! We will definitely be back!! Love the atmosphere! Drinks and food were amazing!

Oscar's Bar & Grill…read more Easter Sunday. Road trip to Denver. Middle of nowhere Colorado. Translation: finding food could've been a problem. Luckily... we landed at Oscar's Bar & Grill in Limon--and this turned out to be one of those "right place, right time" kind of stops. From the outside, it's a classic roadside bar & grill, but once you step inside, it's got personality--movie memorabilia, neon lights, pool table, and that relaxed, local hangout vibe. The kind of place where you just know you're going to get a solid meal. We weren't looking for anything heavy--just something good--and the $9.99 burger special caught our attention right away. Enter Sherry--our server--and she absolutely made the experience. Friendly, engaging, and confident in her recommendations (always a good sign). She pointed me straight to the Texas BBQ Burger, and that was the move. Smoky, slightly sweet BBQ sauce (house-made and legit) Crispy onion rings stacked right on top Juicy burger cooked just right That first bite told me everything I needed to know--this place knows what it's doing. I paired it with coleslaw, which was surprisingly solid--fresh, not overdressed, and a nice balance to the richness of the burger. We passed on appetizers and dessert this time, but based on the menu (and Sherry's confidence), there's definitely more here worth exploring. Bottom line: If you're rolling through Limon--especially on a holiday when options are slim--Oscar's is a no-brainer. Great service, good food, fair prices, and a welcoming local vibe. This is exactly what a road trip stop should be.

We were seated immediately. We were brought bread and water for the whole table along with the menus, which was very simple menu that I really appreciated. This diner used to be a truckstop back in the day and now it is a little diner for strictly steaks and it was a wonderful atmosphere. Everybody was really nice, smiling and chitchatting and having a good time there was no TVs there was no music just everybody talking and having a good time the steaks were cooked to perfection as well as the baked potatoes. I have nothing bad to say about this place. It was very good. Everybody was gracious and appreciative of their customers I definitely will go back so if you're ever out headed east look for the flaming steakhouse you won't be disappointed. Eggs were cooked just the way I wanted, everything was delicious and the thing I appreciated most- I didn't even have to think about grabbing the hot sauce! Louis #3 feels very homey and reminded me of the place where you'd see working class folks show up on the regular. Staff were super friendly, checked on us often and were really nice. We arrived around 9 am on Mother's Day, of all days, and sat at their bar rather than wait on a booth. Lots of older folks dining with some younger families coming in, as we left. Despite being busy, our food came out pretty quickly and was tasty. I ordered the Eggs Benny and he had chicken fried steak and eggs combo. My Eggs Benny was tasty, drenched in their homemade hollandaise and my only disappointment was the English muffin was soggy with so much sauce. His chicken friend steak was really good and well seasoned. We'll def be back, when we're feeling the need for some comfort food ;)

From the creative forces behind award-winning Yacht Club, Rougarou is "a little bit swampy, a little bit rock & roll" -- and easily the best (and most interesting) take on Southern food I've had in Denver. I am slightly biased because they lean gluten-free, and because I am also a lover of all things Louisiana (the main Southern influenced here). This isn't your "fry everything and call it Southern" spot -- it's fresh, creative, spicy, and pays tribute to the South's rich cultural influences (e.g., the Caribbean and Chinese immigrant populations). Bold claim: best martinis in town - Holy Trinity Martini = onion, celery & green pepper infusion in a refreshing, unique take on the classic - Apple Martini = cognac + riesling + absinthe = boozy apple juice perfection Dishes we loved: - Blue Cheese Tart is a fascinating combination of textures and flavors: creamy blue cheese, crumbly crust, sweet jam, and crunchy pickled veggies -- not everyone's cup of tea, but how interesting! - West Indies Crab Salad with mint & serrano is a fantastic fresh take on all those classic southern crab/fish dips - Pickled Shrimp with fennel, celery, dill, and pickled jalapeño makes for another fresh, heat-filled starter - Creole Tofu (holy trinity meets Sichuan spice in Southern take on mapo tofu) - Granddad's Chicken in white BBQ sauce is so tender, it falls off the bone - Sorghum Sundae with caramel corn is the perfect sweet, but light, finish Only dish I would say could stand to be improved is the collard greens. Perfectly serviceable, but needs some flavor -- like bacon! When in doubt, always add bacon, haha.
