We were going to the thrift store but they weren't open yet so we decided to have breakfast. Megan was so friendly and welcoming. Their cinnamon rolls are the size of my face. Wow! Such a cute cafe. We both had the small portion of the Sunrise Platter. French toast for me and pancakes for her. The food was delicious. Eggs cooked just right and the bacon was actual bacon and not the pre cooked ones. The hash browns were not greasy or salty which was excellent. Street parking. Although I live 30 minutes away, I enjoy visiting Patty Ann's occasionally. This time I took a friend there for lunch. Of course our food was good, but the friendly, excellent service from Courtney made our experience stellar! I have to praise the grilled chicken sandwich - I had it with provolone on whole wheat toast (rather than a bun). Fresh and delicious! We also enjoy viewing the historic Kiowa photos. We were driving through the town and decided to order breakfast. The food had no flavor and the only thing I could smell was the oil used. I ended up not being able to eat my breakfast. Such a waste of money and time. The reviews are somewhat good but I haven't had food like this with no taste to almost not the correct ingredients in a sauce in a long time. Went for Sunday brunch with friends. Hey, you're not gonna wind up at Patty Ann's unless you have a reason to be in Kiowa! The food is DOWN HOME cooking. My wife had a BLT ... make that a HUGE BLT w/potato salad. She LOVED it. I had the Biscuits and Gravy, 2 eggs and hash browns. Again, HUGE! They sell t-shirts: If You Have Leftovers You're A Quitter! Biscuits n sausage were great.? I've had better gravy (and make better myself). Others ordered the Breakfast Burrito and the Big Breakfast. All huge and satisfying. Nothing spectacular but but didn't expect spectacular! It was really good cooking, served promptly and hot. We'll be back for sure! read more

LOVE the food and location. Have been out here a few times! Delicious BUT THEY DO NOT ENFORCE THE MASK MANDATE. Waitress and hostess wearing shields that don't block their own spittle. Patrons enter and prance around and no one says to put on a mask, even though signs on the door state they are required. So, sorry...NEVER coming back. I love small town cafes with all their hominess and charm. This is a great place. If you're out for a drive head out to Kiowa and Patty Ann's. The food was great and the servings very generous. My husband and I traveled from Strasburg to have lunch outside of our norm. We were surprised about how big the inside of the restaurant was and it was very clean. We were seated right away, got our drinks and placed our orders then we waited for a while... I ordered the mushroom Swiss burger medium rare with French fries. My husband ordered the chicken fried steak with brown gravy, mashed potatoes and gravy and green beans. When we got our food about 45 minutes after we received our drinks, my fries were cold and the burger had canned cold mushrooms on it. Looked they took them right out of the can. The burger was cooked perfectly, the cheese melted perfectly and all the garnishes were great. My husbands chicken fried steak was delicious but the gravy seemed to be from a package and was extremely salty. I couldn't tell if the mashed potatoes were instant or from potatoes peeled and cooked at the restaurant. They appeared instant but I couldn't taste that false flavor of that weird boxed taste. The green beans were from a can and that's ok but they had ZERO seasoning on them. Maybe a little salt and pepper, butter and diced onions could have made them better. We were given our ticket right after we were given our food. The waitress was nice but we only saw her twice during our visit. We never were asked if we wanted anything more, such as dessert or whatever. The tables were sticky too. We had to wipe ours down with hand sanitizer and napkins just to get rid.of some of the stickiness. We never complain or criticize at the restaurant as we want to eat the food as it was delivered to our table. Granted we both cleaned our plates and it was good. There are just a few things that I would recommend improving but all in all it was ok. We would love to bring our daughter back for dessert and coffee because the pies look delicious. read more

Patty Anne's is the worst establishment I have ever had the displeasure of dining at in my twenty-seven years of life in Elbert County. This "restaurant" has reputation for being a complete and utter embarassment for the town of Kiowa. The only reason for its continued business seems to be the local police department's habit of dining there every midmorning, along with it's monopoly on classic diner food in the small town of Kiowa. If you are ever unfortunate enough to find yourself within this establishment, avoid the manager at all costs. He is the son of Patty Anne, and he is just as incompetent as the food itself. (He assumes customers cannot hear him gossip about them every time he steps into the kitchen.) The owners are rarely there during the day, but if you dare complain about their often-inedible food--cardboard tortillas, rock-hard bread, undercooked eggs--they, along with the manager, will be sure to let you know that you're actually the problem. Do yourself a favor: go next door to Little Valley Smokehouse. The food is impeccable, and you will never be met with disrespect by its staff. read more

I made the trek to Kiowa on a Sunday morning just to try breakfast at Patty Ann's Cafe. It was worth the trip, with excellent service, but the food was nothing to phone home about. It is not like there are a lot of restaurant choices in Kiowa, and Patty Ann's is definitely decent. The staff (hostess, waitresses, etc.) were very friendly and personable. They were quick and efficient on pretty much every service aspect you could want. As soon as I came in the door, they said I could sit anywhere (yay!) and pointed out extra seating in the back room. They were fast at bringing me a menu, zippy at taking my drink order (coffee), they volunteered what the special was, they brought my food in record time, and my coffee cup never hit the halfway mark without someone being there to refill it. By the end of the meal, I had my ticket without having to ask for it. There are a lot of upscale restaurants (heck, pretty much any restaurant) where the waitstaff does not come close to being as good as they are at Patty Ann's. As a matter of fact, it is this 5-Star service combined with the 3-Star food that allowed me to give Patty Ann's an overall rating of 4-Stars. On a side note, the waitresses really paid attention to the children and made them feel welcome. The coffee was good, basic coffee. This actually is something I would like to see more breakfast places be able to pull off. The coffee was not burnt, it was not too weak, nor too strong, and it definitely was hot and fresh. They did not have Splenda (but neither do a lot of restaurants) and I had my private stash with me for sweetening. When I said I wanted a lot of half and half, they believed me, and brought plenty. I asked what the most popular breakfast items were, and the answer I received was "pretty much anything with the pork green chile". Based on this, I ordered the Huevos Rancheros with a 1/2 order of French Toast on the side. The French Toast, much like the coffee, was good, basic French Toast. It was not under cooked, over cooked (scorched), or containing any unexpected flavors. It was solid, tasty French Toast, where you could good enjoy the hint of cinnamon, but were able to focus on using the French Toast as a delivery system for the syrup and butter. The Huevos Rancheros were decent, but not outstanding. I asked for my eggs "over medium" and they were pretty close (maybe leaning just a tad towards "over easy"). This was definitely "Gringo" Huevos Rancheros. It was two eggs, on top of flour tortillas, with a generous ladling of the pork green chile sauce, and a little cheese. It was, however, a bit on the boring side. Although the green chile tasted okay, it lacked depth of flavor, or any real heat. This came with a side of hash browns (crispy outside, tender inside) and yet another flour tortilla. I am guessing you get a flour tortilla with every green chile order, but I really didn't see the point of an additional flour tortilla beyond the ones already in the dish. I hope to come back to Patty Ann's in the future to try the lunch offerings. Note: This is a Cash or Check (it probably should be local) establishment only. read more

Very cute diner/ cafe in the old mining town of Kiowa. As a city girl, this definitely gave me the country dining experience I was looking for during my visit to CO. Everyone there was SO nice and the food was great! I don't think I've ever had eggs that fresh in my entire life!!! This is definitely a local's spot and pulls in a steady crowd. All of our coffee came in mismatched coffee cups, and gave me that comfortable feeling like when you grab a bit to eat at home or a friends house. The staff was really friendly and got our order out really fast. Don't know if I'll ever be back in this little down, but I'd definitely eat here again! I love this little cafe! This is my favorite restaurant to go get breakfast and brunch at on the weekends. It is busy, but never too busy, we always get a table. I gave it a 4 star because last time we ate there it took an hour to get our food out (and many other customers who came after us got their food). I think our waitress was having a bad day because she wasn't friendly, but the food is always great. Once I spoke to Remi (our favorite waitress) she hurried and got the food for us.
