Stopped in for breakfast this morning with my friend. We usually go to Rosies' but they were closed for the holidays, opening the opportunity to try My House....and I'm happy we did! Our waitress was excellent and steered me toward the Chile Rellanos, that were excellent, meanwhile their coffee was great and the restaurant in general was simple and very quaint. Worst young woman waitstaff ever! Came to our table 10 minutes after being seated. Returned 10 minutes after ordering our drinks. Brought our food 20+ minutes after ordering and salad without dressing. Then said "oh, you want dressing?" Pork chops were hard as a rock, unsalted, canned corn accompanied the dish which was totally inedible; watered down coffee accompanied by dried out scrambled eggs. The pancakes and bacon were okay. What a great little local spot. I wouldn't even know it existed had not a Monument based friend invited me. The staff is down home pleasant. This isn't a big chain type breakfast joint, this is small town America in all its splendor. I suspect it's locally family owned and operated. Many of the customers and the servers were on a first name basis. I had a vegetarian skillet and pancakes and it was a breakfast to remember. Simple, tasty and a portion there was no way I could eat in a single sitting. Our glasses were never empty and the good only took ten minutes to arrive after ordering. This is the kind of place, if I lived locally, I'd sit and have breakfast and coffee while I worked on my laptop. Five stars for this great little place. read more

Very good find for brunch. Their food is delicious and service is fast and friendly. We were able to get seats right away on a Saturday morning around 11:30 am. Prices are cheap considering the huge portions. They also don't skimp on the meat. I got a Mikes skillet with sirloin and my friend got a chicken omelette. Both had a lot of flavor. We got the perfect table in the rear for a toddler and a newborn. Booth that could easily fit 6-7 adults. Food portions were plentiful and we could have easily shared the skillet meals. Had to get a biscuit due to other reviews and it did not disappoint! Service was good and when we left at 1pm the cafe was packed. The breakfast burrito had a great flavor but I think the skillets looked to be a much better dish. Would definitely recommend and go back. Had a great local vibe so that means a lot. read more

A relatively new addition to Monument, close to the UP store by Safeway on 105, this has a very family owned vibe when you arrive. After self seating, the waitress was immediately there to provide menus. We arrived at 8:30AM and had no problems getting a table, at this point the cafe was approximately 50% busy, when we left 45 minutes later it was more like 90% busy. So earlier is probably better. The menu is extensive with lunch and breakfast options. My son & I were attracted to the Skillets. I ordered the Mike's Skillet which had tasty sirloin smothered in green chili. The chili was spicy warm but certainly not a blow your head off warm. Rarely do foods smothered in green chili look the most attractive, but it tasted great. My son ordered the Sheridan Skillet which included ham, sausage and, mushrooms. This was a "lighter" option compared to Mike's Skillet and my son was very pleased with his selection. I think I preferred the Sheridan Skillet, my son let me taste it, but I enjoyed Mike's Skillet, I just feel that the lighter Sheridan is a better match for breakfast. The prices are ridiculously low but the food is comforting and sets you up for the day. Would I come again? Absolutely! Nice relaxed environment, great skillets, easy to find parking. read more

We heard positive feedback amongst the customers. Lots of Mexican dishes to choose from with lots of traditional American meals, too. We were greeted after a minute of standing at the door trying to figure out if we wait for a table or seat ourselves. It's seat yourself. The menu is extensive ... lots of options. Breakfast with family--recommend the Mexican food dishes. I got the chile relleno and eggs and they were delicious. Relleno was crisp and exactly how a relleno should taste. Poached eggs were done just right. Everything we ordered (except the pancakes) was smothered by this very tasty green chili that had nice big chunks of meat (chicken?) and a perfect amount of heat. There was a steady stream of customers on a Sunday, which was impressive for a new restaurant. The smothered 3-meat omelette was unique; great green Chile. Really enjoyed. The Gyro burrito didn't taste much like a Gyro; I actually think they might have made the wrong thing. It tasted a lot like the omelette, so I enjoyed it, but I would have been disappointed if I was super craving a gyro flavor. Two entrees and two coffees $29. Felt clean, and friendly staff. A must stop breakfast spot, especially if you love a good omelette. Seating is somewhat limited but the tables move pretty quick and the food is definitely worth the wait! I had a steak fajita omelette that was one of the best choices I've made recently. They really manage to get a good balance of ingredients throughout the whole omelette while delivering great flavor. I highly recommend also getting a biscuit while you're there as they're so soft, buttery, and flaky you'll be in for a delight. I would mention that they are near the Safeway and Yelp maps their address incorrectly. We stop by here fairly often for Breakfast or brunch on the weekends. Can be a bit busy, but we usually can get seated immediately or within a few minutes. Food is usually fairly quick out of the kitchen, and the food is always good. Portion size always leaves me full. Lots of good choices for Omelets, and Skillets. We had the cinnamon bun French toast once as well which was fantastic. Sometimes have to keep an eye out for your server for drink refills if they get busy, but never felt ignored. Its a small place in strip mall near the grocery store, but the servers are always friendly and helpful, so I enjoy going there.
