Burrito Valentina
Jake N.

Los Volcanes offered some of the most generic Mexican food in town. The decor is severely lacking and was very quiet especially for a weekend night. You are greeted with an 8 page menu where the first offering is hamburgers. The chips and salsa to start were free and tasted like it as well. The pico was completely flavorless and the other salsa was completely average with no real spice. We got some queso which was okay but was that of grocery store queso. For the entree, I got the Burrito Valentina. This was nothing special with under seasoned meat and the rest of the ingredients being about what you'd expect with the exception of the red sauce. The red sauce that smothered the entire burrito was a tomato sauce with either no chilis or very little chilis. It tasted like they dumped a puréed marinara sauce on top of a burrito. Absolutely terrible. We also got the chimichangas which were barely fried and under seasoned. We got one birria taco which was the highlight and the only redeeming item on the menu. Sopapillas were about what you'd expect, not worth recommending. The birria taco showed that there are good items on the menu but it's almost impossible to find on an 8 page menu. If they start seasoning their meat more, add some more spice and chilis, and limit the menu it could work but otherwise you got to get lucky with your food choices.

Complimentary chips, salsa & slaw (delicious!)

After seeing the positive reviews on this new restaurant, we had to try it out. We were greeted by friendly staff and seated a comfortable booth. The decorations were spare, but there were many tables and the restaurant itself was very clean. Complementary chips and salsa along with Mexican slaw were brought while we perused the Lunch menu. The salsa was chunky, featuring pieces of onion, cilantro, and fresh jalapeño in a tomato base. Very tasty! We both ordered iced tea, which came in large stains. My husband decided to try the soap with chicken while I ordered the Carnitas burrito on the recommendation of our server, Brayan. My husband enjoyed the soaps, saying they were very tasty. My burrito was huge and chalk full of pretty lean grilled Carnitas, along with whole beans, guacamole, spinach. (upon my request) and salsa. It was topped with a green sauce and cheese. Very filling and very tasty. I am already planning what I will have on our next visit!

This place is spotlessly clean which is always a good sign. The food came out hot and tasty. This is a solid choice for a good Mexican meal. The food served to us was really mild so if you like it spicy ryou might want to request spicy . My impression is everything is made from scratch, which is huge plus in my book. Also nothing is swimming in grease. Taste of everything is really fresh. I did confirm with staff everything is made from scratch. Give this place a try, I think it's worth it.

Great new restaurant in Village 7! We've tried the birria, moljacete volcan and flautas and everything was excellent! They also make their corn tortillas in house. Their house salsa and Mexican rice are OK, but the refried beans are amazing! The restaurant is very clean and the staff are friendly. We've been in twice so far and this is our new go to spot for authentic Mexican food.

My wife and I went here a few days ago and it was great. The food was delicious and had a great presentation. The flavor was not the ordinary Mexican restaurant flavor. It was rich and Smokey from the beans, rice, and the entrée was even more. The restaurant was clean and had an openness seating area. There was not a commotion of tv's playing loud, just a soft Latin music playing where you can enjoy your meal and the company you're eating with. The service was great, never ran out of drinks. We were checked on often if we needed anything. Once our order was taking it didn't take long until our order came. We will definitely go back!

BURRITO CARNITAS

The house made chips are soooo good! Served with salsa and salsa with cabbage. Super thin and crispy! Fish platter was huge!!! It's my go to place for Mexican now. Prices were great, too!

Pollo en chipotle

The food and drinks are AMAZING! The plates are huge and margaritas are fantastic! The service was outstanding, we are so happy to have discovered Los Volcanes!

Chuy's burrito was very good! Guacamole not so good...salsa was very mild and watery. Service was phenomenal! Will I come back? Yes.

Honestly not very great at all. The only thing good here was the customer service. Had a lot of food left over & took nothing to go.

Snag some street parking in Downtown Colorado Springs across from Acacia Park and mozy on into the Diners, Drive Ins and Dives favorite, Skirted Heifer. I remember watching their episode 10 years ago. I didn't even live in Colorado back then! Their claim to fame is the iconic cheese "skirt" on their burgers. The way they melt the cheese, you get this funky crispy cheesy entity around the burger resembling a skirt. On this visit, I kept it simple with the Pueblo Farmer and fries. Pueblo Farmer ($12.25) // Grass-fed beef, pueblo chilies, pepper jack cheese, & homemade guacamole on our sesame seed bun. Beefy, spicy, creamy, a perfectly balanced burger. I didn't get it skirted (I honestly was so tired from driving that I forgot), but I wouldn't change much about this burger. Damn tasty! Burgers don't come with fries so I added those on. These are thin and salty. Even though the fries are extra, they have a little sauce bar with their ketchup, ranch, and Heifer sauce to accompany it. The sauces were all great and tasted homemade! Honestly, just wish there was more seating as it's usually crowded. They do have a few outdoor stools, but it does get chilly when the sun is down. If it's good enough for Guy (Fieri...duh) it's good enough for me!

Our personal favorite may have been the Green Chile, simply because the spice added so much to the already great burger. But all of the other burgers were amazing as well, with tender patties and a great blend of ingredients on top. The fries were also delicious. Everything was hot and fresh, and it was easy to tell it was all homemade. The quality was just excellent. So, if you're ever in the mood for either a simple or not-so-simple burger, Green Line's got you covered. It's so delicious in every aspect, you won't feel one iota of disappointment.

The fries were unique, hand-cut, and pretty yummy. The service was exceptional. The patio abuts a parking lot, but that's fine if you've ever strip mall dined. In Houston, for example, there's a romance to patio dining with an asphalt view. So, while it was a four-star burger, everything else was perfectly fine. I'll round up from four to five stars for those reasons and since it is an independent business, which has been around a long time, on the southeastern edge of downtown Colorado Springs.

That place is Bad Daddy's Burger Bar. On my first visit to the area years ago, we were introduced to Bad Daddy's by our host. Each and every ensuing visit, we've made the pilgrimage to a local Bad Daddy's to enjoy their food and hospitality. Karen, our server, was truly a superstar. She brought a little bit of sass with hometown hospitality to make sure our visit was enjoyable from start to finish. Loved her personality and attentiveness to our needs. The food is crazy good. Bad Daddy's offers creative bar food with a unique flair that makes it seem like an upscale experience. Their signature burger, The Bad Ass Burger. I've enjoyed it multiple times on previous visits and was tempted to devour it again. However the other menu items have been drawing my attention each time we visit. Yesterday was no exception. Went with the Smokehouse Burger and was not disappointed. Burger with pulled pork, onion strings, lettuce, tomatoes and bbq sauce was really good. Had to take it up a notch and throw on a fried block of mozzarella on there. Julie didn't want the bacon that came on her burger so that topped off my monstrosity! Others enjoyed the salmon burger, heatwave burger, birria burger and the steakhouse smashburger. All were mighty fine and tasty. We also ordered the house made chips (comes w unlimited refills), Bacon Queso and Not Yo Mamas Deviled Eggs, which are deep fried with a slice of jalapeño.... BOMB! We celebrated a birthday of a little one and Karen brought out a mini sundae for her to end our meal. Bad Daddy's is a great place to enjoy a family meal at a reasonable cost and extremely fun environment. Keep on Yelp'n!
