Elote dip
Kathryn W.

So this is actually a really solid option and it's one that I've come to many times. For me, I use a 3 as like good average. The food here is usually really good. In the past, I've very much enjoyed the fish and chips and the bison burger. This trip we tried the elote dip, which was yummy with a little bit of kick but not too much. I had the pork chop -the shrimp part was perfect and the sausage and the rice was very good, but the chop itself was a little bit dry. One of my companions had a beer flight and all four beers were ones we would order again. The tacos, both the fish and the carnitas, were enjoyed although both people who had the tacos suggested a crunchy element would be nice. Wheelchair accessibility: there is accessible parking close both paid street and lot. Sometimes it's a little bit tricky to find a curb cut to get up onto the sidewalk, depending on how you cross the road. The front doors are heavy so you'll need help but in general most of the restaurant's fairly accessible. There's a lot of different seating options. It is pretty tight getting through tables/aisle. The bathroom door's a little bit heavy, but not too bad, but there is no accessible stall, at least in the women's restroom, despite being marked as such. And the soap is out of reach. All in all this is really worth a stop if you're in downtown.

Quality of food: 5 Quantity of food: 5 Customer Service: 5 Ambience: N/A Location/ Parking: 5 Cleanliness: 5 Reservations: Not needed This restaurant is situated in the heart of the Colorado Springs downtown area, which was conveniently located near available street parking or a few parking garages. The decor is a mix similar to a sports bar atmosphere. Their menu offers a wide variety of delicious and mouthwatering starters and main courses that will appeal to everyone. I ordered a few things from their lunch menu, and everything we ate was fresh and delicious. The chefs use the best quality ingredients to produce dishes that are simply delightful. The restaurant also offers an extensive drink menu, which was nice after a long day of hiking.

Usually I have a Reuben, but this time I decided to go BBQ Pork on a Brioche bun. Great The bun was fresh and pilled high with pork. Side of coleslaw was crunchy and was a good portion. The service was good. My favorite place in downtown. Loved the floating light fixtures.

This is still one of my favorite places to stop for beer cheese soup, fish tacos or fish n chips, and especially the veggie shepherd's pie! The staff and $4 happy hour beers are also worth a late day stop if you are downtown!

First off the vibe you get as soon as you walk in the establishment is very welcoming. It's lit up and that definitely makes the mood lighter. Also the host and other employees greets you with a smile like they actually enjoy their job and assisting customers. The restaurant was very clean as well. The beer and libations are plentiful and refreshing. I had ordered a shepherds pie and it was delicious. It was the best tasting I've had in a while. The only thing I didn't like was once you dug into it you mostly got mashed potatoes. Like there was a big glob of potatoes and the beef and vegetables were around it. I'm used to a layer of mashed potatoes on top. Just enough to mix with the other ingredients. I'm not knocking the taste just the presentation. They recently had a hunt for the Leprechaun here. They do give 20% military discounts but only on Thursdays. Of course I came in on a Friday. Again better than nothing.

Great atmosphere and food! Love the queso appetizer with the chorizo on top and the fried pickle spears. Phantom Burger was just a 3/5 for me. Bun was over-toasted and burger was dry. But otherwise great experience!

The place is beautiful, well lit, high ceilings, and plenty of seating. Our server was Patti? She was great! Very attentive. The food was great too. The fish tacos were big, great beer batter but lacked a bit of seasoning. The Nashville chicken and waffles sliders were great, not that spicy. The waffles were soft interior, crispy exterior, perfect for a sandwich. I'd definitely come back again and try the other stuff on their menu. FYI- if you download the app, you get a free beer, up to an $8 value.

We chose Phantom Canyon based on strong Yelp reviews, but unfortunately our experience didn't live up to the hype. When we arrived, we waited quite a while for a hostess to appear--which should have been our first indication that the service might be off. We were seated and a waitress came by fairly quickly to take our drink order, but that's where things seemed to fall apart. The restaurant wasn't busy at all--we arrived at 5 PM for an early dinner--yet service was extremely slow. When our drinks finally arrived, mine was incorrect, and since the person delivering them wasn't the one who took the order, I had to flag someone down just to get it corrected. And then the waiting began again. At some point, our original waitress left for the evening, and no one informed us. We eventually flagged down another waiter who kindly took our food order. When our meals arrived, the presentation was good, but a food runner simply dropped the plates and walked away. My husband didn't receive any condiments for his burger, and after another long wait, I finally spotted some on the hostess stand and got them myself. The staff literally stood in a hallway leading to the kitchen and chatted like no patrons were present. The food itself was just okay--nothing special. My husband's bison burger was noticeably small compared to similar dishes at other local restaurants. When we were ready to leave, we again waited an extended time for someone to bring the check. As we walked out, the restaurant had become quite full, yet the wait staff still appeared to be moving very slowly, almost as if there was no sense of urgency despite the crowd. Overall, despite a nice atmosphere and good presentation, the slow and inconsistent service overshadowed the meal. Based on our experience, we wouldn't return.

Excellent, fresh draft beer! Friendly, fast service. The atmosphere is a mix of brewpub, saloon, and Irish pub. A great spot for a beer. Try one of their flights to sample several at once. The food is also outstanding. I really enjoyed their fried pickles, beer cheese soup, and shepherd's pie.

Wow! A must try in the area! First off our server Patricia was an absolute gem and delight. She really made our meal perfect. We tried a few different beers before going with a flight and I went with their Paloma beer it was so unique and delicious. We ordered the Oktoberfest platter and a beer cheese soup for me. The platter was huge and a great lunch snack and everything paired great with their beer cheese soup. Parking is outside and paid but very reasonably priced per hour. The inside of this brewery was huge and they also offer outdoor seating.

Weekend in Colorado Springs and thought a burger and salad sounded good. Phantom Canyon was close by and recommended by our hotel concierge. The restaurant felt like an old western haunt with wood floors and a large bar. The light fixtures were interesting and the large windows gave it an open feel. For a Friday afternoon, it was fairly busy. We ordered a burger with fries and the roasted beet salad with chicken, prosciutto, pears, beets, goat cheese, fried almonds and verje vinegarette. Some of the beets were small, some larger pieces and pears cut into small tiny slices. Nothing made sense. The burger was fair, the lettuce leaf was wilted and that was the thinnest tomato I've ever seen. The salad was bland with several ingredients but nothing that complimented each other. The experience was nothing special and our server used one word, awesome. I have no desire to return and am sure I can find a better burger and salad elsewhere in Colorado Springs.

Carnitas Tacos

Enjoyed every part of my night here, beer was good, food hit the spot and the server we had was great. Got a pint of the El Borracho Feliz, a mexican lager, and it was smooth and had a good light, refreshing taste. Paired well with the carnitas tacos. Comes with three, filled with meat and a bold jalapeño crema and cheese sprinkled on top. To my surprise It also came with chips and a little queso, how could you turn that down!

Both the strawberries and ricotta had a grainy texture and not much flavor. It didn't make it bad but certainly not what we were hoping for. The atmosphere and service were both good on the other hand. Naturally repurposing a church is always a cool idea and paid off. Additionally there is some nice outdoor seating with hanging lights which are always a nice addition. The decor was a bit minimalistic including the seating.

I ordered with the bartender behind the counter at Local Relic. After ordering my flight of 4 small tasters (maybe 3-4oz) at ~$10 I was invited to sit down at one of the tables inside where I was served cold water from my own carafe. I was presented with a menu curated by the the Carter Payne group but as only the appetizers were open to me at 3pm, nothing appeared tantalizing enough and at such an odd hour. Their brews are clean, but VERY experimental. For instance, the Rubbed Sage Saison was certainly true to its name but way to herbal for my taste. I even spied a Thai Tea Stout on their menu. Their IPA's were strangely earthy, but tasted clean at the very least. Although strange and unconventional, their ales at least consistently followed a very rustic, farmhouse trend. One small complaint -- I yearned for colder beers as my tasters were approaching ambient temps and did, therefore, lack that much yearned for crispness. Certainly a cool, unique setting to be sipping on some cold ones, without a doubt.
