I reserved a table here for my anniversary dinner months ago and after seeing numerous rave reviews, I couldn't have been more excited. We arrived for our 5pm reservation a few minutes early and were promptly seated by a super sweet hostess. She even acknowledged our anniversary and asked how our day had been so far. When our server arrived, she provided water and took our drink orders. I order the special "The Purple Drank" and my husband tried to order an iced tea but was told they don't serve tea, only water and Pepsi products. Ok, water it is...without any ice I might add. The Purple Drank came dressed with an orange sugar gummy candy and the drink looked orange as well. It tasted like nothing but grape vodka...and not a high quality one at that. We ordered an appetizer: Garlic Truffle Frites. They were just ok. Frozen, thin, crispy fries with maybe a little truffle oil, garlic seasoning, bag Parmesan cheese, an aioli dipping sauce. For entrees: Mediterranean Chicken Pasta and Chicken Cordon Bleu. The chicken pasta presentation was what you would see at a chain restaurant and everything accompanying the chicken was so smothered in oil, you couldn't really taste the flavor or the food. The cordon bleu was a frozen heat and serve with virtually little chicken, ham, or cheese. To say I was disappointed is really an understatement. We were in and out in less than an hour for a special occasion dinner. Synopsis: Atmosphere: 10/10 Music: 10/10 Hostess: 10/10 Server: 4/10 (never even acknowledged our special occasion) Specialty Drink: 2/10 Food: 2/10 I really wanted to live this place, but definitely didn't.
This place is so unique and beautiful to dine at. Perfect for a date for a couple that is visiting Colorado Springs. It is an underground restaurant that is dimly lit with Alice in the Wonderland themed decor, food, and drinks. The service was phenomenal. I forget the name of our server, but she was so kind and very helpful. The portions are massive and will definitely get you full, yet delicious as well. Worth the experience I recommend coming here.
What an awesome concept for a highly enjoyable evening! We entered The Rabbit Hole through a mysterious subway entrance protruding from the downtown sidewalk. It was so delightful to encounter such an enchanting subterranean bar and adjoining rooms and hideaway booths all embracing a whimsical Alice in Wonderland theme. We sat at the bar and the bartenders were busy but impressively friendly and attentive. The food coming out of the amazingly small but organized kitchen looked so impressive - definitely something we would try next time! We had and Ol' Fashioned and of course tried their signature drink, The White Rabbit: Our Signature Martini: Vanilla Vodka, Coconut Rum, and a Dash of Cream, Topped with a Flaming Marshmallow. The White Rabbit was spot on, such a treat and not too sweet.
3.5/5 stars The Rabbit hole was an interesting restaurant experience. My partner and I were very excited to go there to celebrate just getting married. We liked the vibes of the place as the lighting was dark and intimate. The place used to be a morgue so very unique. Unfortunately the food was sub par. The brussel sprout appetizer had a ton of oil collected at the bottom of the bowl . The rib appetizer was just okay but the cabbage seemed like an afterthought just thrown on the plate. The duck was pretty good overall with the turnip puree, the strawberry rhubarb sauce, and the leak rice being the standouts. The service was also just okay nothing to write home about especially with having stated a celebration on our reservation. Overall wouldn't visit again unless the food makes a big improvement.
3.5 stars, edging down to 3. Stopped in for happy hour and sat at the bar. The bartender was fast and friendly, but it felt like the bar got a little overwhelmed. If you're sitting at the bar you can see the window where your food comes up -- our salad and fries both sat there about ten minutes before anyone brought them the ten feet over to us. Not a huge deal, but it's a little cruddy sitting there thinking "I'm pretty sure that's ours" and waiting. The ambiance is very dark, with a lot of stairs up and down -- you head into sort of a basement-type area. Everything I saw was clean and nice. It's a cool, funky spot to take a date or hit for happy hour, so the vibe and ambiance are definitely spot on for that. Signature cocktails -- all fine. Not the best thing ever, but solid. I'd have them again. Side salad -- good. The ranch is made in house and very flavorful, and the salad was actually loaded with veggies. French fries with garlic aioli -- a bit of a letdown. We didn't even finish them. They came out okay, just a little dry, and the aioli itself wasn't very good -- we didn't really like it. Pro tip: The entrées looked pricey, which is why we stuck to snacking at the bar -- and after the fries came out, we were fine calling it there and eating elsewhere. Overall, would recommend for happy hour, and would return.
I recently visited this restaurant and had an experience that I felt only warranted 3 stars, as it ultimately felt like a bit of a tourist trap. I have to admit that the ambience is really cool; you walk down into a basement to enter the restaurant, which used to be the city morgue, and while that's a little bit creepy, it gives the space a dark, velvety vibe that I think some people would really like. However, for a higher-end establishment, I found the service to be kind of spotty and not quite up to par. My biggest disappointment was the food, as we ordered two entrées to share and found both to be rather disappointing and honestly kind of bad, which was especially frustrating given how expensive they were. While it might have just been the specific dishes we chose, the combination of high prices, underwhelming food, and inconsistent service means I likely won't be back, even if the unique atmosphere was interesting to see once.
Hidden Gem! What a fun themed restaurant. The pictures on the walls are so creepy but create a "through the rabbit hole" vibe. Entrance is interesting.. I will say we sat under the stairs so lady... be careful you can see right up peoples outfits when they are coming down. Should definitely consider tinting those windows. Food was delicious but large portions. Great if you are super hungry but for two girl friends we had a lot of extras. We ordered the: Garlic Truffle Fries Brussel Sprouts Artisan Bread Whiskey Sticky Ribs Bison Short Ribs Delicious but the ribs and fries were definitely my favorites... brussels sprouts were a close second. Waitress was great, made sure we were taken care of. Highly recommended coming here for a cute date night! Very dimly lite though so bring your glasses!! Overall 4.5 / 5 stars!
A place of surreal Alice-in-Wonderland vibes, decent food, and very tasty cocktails. You're here for the experience as much as a good meal (though the meal is pretty good). FOOD: I had an Angus Ribeye, which was tasty and done to precisely the color I wanted, but really needed to be trimmed of fat and gristle better. My wife had the chopped salad the whiskey sticky ribs from the apps menu, and liked both of them a lot. Servings were generous. The drink end is where things shine. Their Sazerac was excellent. The "Espresso" Ol' Fashion was quite good. The signature White Rabbit Martini (complete with flaming marshmallow) was kind of gimmicky, but quite drinkable. SERVICE: Our waitstaffer was friendly, helpful, and showed up as often as we expected. The place draws a lot of patrons, even on weekdays, so reservations are highly recommended. We managed to get seated as walk-ins, but it was a bit iffy and it was at 4:30pm on a Tuesday. They are also strict on how long parties of a given size are allowed to hog a table. That makes sense for the number of diners, but still felt a bit off-putting (though the duration given for a party of 2, 90 minutes, was comfortable). AMBIANCE: That's why you're here of course, and from the sidewalk stairs leading down to the plethora of Alice-in-Wonderland artwork on the black walls, the atmosphere is thick and delightful. VALUE: Premium prices, though servings are generous and the quality is good. NET-NET: Definitely a worthwhile experience. I wouldn't mind going there again on a future visit to the Springs.

I had the salad with grilled chicken, basic and flavors were as excepted. They do have Coors Banquet on draft, cool! If back, I'd go for a drink and that's it.
We had a pretty decent experience at The Rabbit Hole! It was a SUPER last-minute plan and we somehow got lucky walking in and grabbing seats at the bar. (If you're going on a weekend though, definitely make a reservation because I don't think that luck happens often) Food-wise, nothing totally blew my mind flavor-wise, but everything was still really solid and satisfying. It's more comforting and hearty than fancy or experimental, which honestly hit the spot. The portion sizes are HUGE, you absolutely get your money's worth. You won't leave hungry. I ordered a mocktail, my partner had one drink, and we both got entrees plus a dessert. Our total came out to around $100, which felt super reasonable for how much food we got and the overall experience. The space itself is whimsical and cute with great vibes, and it didn't feel overly overpriced at all. The staff was amazing and super attentive, which made the night even better. Would definitely go back

Incredible food in a most unique dining space. The space is dimly lit affording the diner a degree of privacy. Perfect for a date night. Both the food and the cocktails were worth the trip. Staff is professional and highly knowledgeable. Would definitely go again when in the area.

You enter through a phone booth and walk downstairs into an Alice in Wonderland restaurant. Excellent entrance. Usually when I follow my wife underground, we're looking for parking. This time there were cocktails and a coherent artistic vision. They really commit to the theme, and it looks fantastic. For a moment, I forgot there was an entire normal city upstairs where people were renewing vehicle registrations. We made a reservation about an hour beforehand and got in without trouble. I believe it was a Wednesday afternoon, and it wasn't particularly packed. Plenty of room to enjoy the atmosphere without feeling like we were being processed through Wonderland. Started with the bread, which was perfectly crisp. Then the skirt steak appetizer, which had great flavor. Could've happily kept eating that, but we had other business to attend to. Specifically, gourmet mac and cheese. An unusual entrée choice for a themed date, perhaps, but apparently you can lead a grown man into a subterranean fantasy world and he'll still ask where they keep the noodles. It was excellent. My wife and I both wanted more afterward. The White Rabbit cocktail was excellent too. Toasted marshmallow on top. A tiny campfire snack hovering over my drink while I sit underground eating fancy macaroni. Whoever planned this afternoon understands my needs better than I do. Highly recommend for the entrance, the atmosphere, the food, and especially that cocktail. Walk downstairs. Let The Rabbit do it's little thing. read more
Wa sable to snag a 10pm reservation about a week out for a Friday evening. Note to self, plan ahead. Since it was so late we ended up grabbing some of the truffle fries and the cheese balls to snack on as we had a couple drinks. The fries had to be the best truffle fries I've had as all of them were extra crispy and had the right amount of truffle oil and salt throughout. Very consistent in the flavor and texture. Cheese balls weren't as expected with the arugula and cable slaw on the side vs what we though would be incorporated into the cheese ball. Started with the pumpkin extravaganza which was tasty although not sure how potent. Next up was the espresso martini which was also tasty and despite not having espresso in it, had that coffee flavor as anticipated. The entry is amazing and they have several cozy seating areas. Service was a bit hit and miss as they were quite busy. My friend got the White Rabbit, flaming marshmallow and the other friend got the apple pie martini. Both enjoyed and I'd come back to try their main entrees by snagging an earlier reservation. read more

We had dinner here while in town, and were so glad we came across it! It was a cute spot that you have to go down the stairs and find. I loved the overall vibe and atmosphere. It felt like a speakeasy. The goat cheese balls were AMAZING! I want to try to make them myself ha! Highly recommend for a starter. We also enjoyed our steaks- cooked perfectly and flavorful. Highly recommend trying this spot while in town! read more
Highly recommend this spot for dinner or honestly any meal. It was such a pleasant experience with beautiful artwork. I'm also obsessed with Alice in wonderland so I really appreciated this place. The theme is well done throughout the restaurant and menu. I recommend making a reservation as it does get very busy. Our server was phenomenal and all of the food was absolutely delicious. We both order the filet mignon and it was so tender and delicious. read more
This has been a must try spot for me. Ever since moving to Colorado Springs, I've been told, "go to rabbit hole!". So here we are... and yes, it is fantastic. I genuinely loved it! And at first, I'll be honest, I was a little worried... is the food even good? Are the cocktails balanced? The answer: yes. So my friend and I went and she got a Manhattan to start and I got the white rabbit martini. I loved my drink and thought it was well balanced--but if you don't like coconut rum, I'd stay clear from it. Though it's my personal favorite! We got bread as well to start. Then for dinner I got the duck and she got the truffle mac and cheese. She loved hers and I loved mine! The duck fell off the bone and was so tender. The black rice was interesting, but actually pretty flavorful. And I liked my broccolini! I would say this dish was really good and with the sauce? Maybe one of the best plates I've had since being in the springs. But dessert was the standout. The chocolate bomb was soooooo good. The mousse? Yum. I could eat that all day every day. It was magic. Our server was very nice. She was attentive and had a great personality! Our food came out very fast too and honestly, I thought we'd be there for awhile. But when a place gets as many guests as they do, I'm not surprised they have a good system. But we didn't feel rushed. Now let's talk about the vibes. That's probably the best part of this restaurant! I mean even the entrance is so freaking cool. You go underground and it feels like... well, the rabbit hole! I loved the decor and the fun vibes. I definitely recommend making a reservation because we came on a Friday which was very fine and we had to make reservations for Saturday. Good thing there was availability for the next day. I will say that the concept is kind of cool, and I do love the vibe that he gives for Alice in Wonderland, but I was disappointed in the food. The service was decent, but they could train their servers to be a little better with tourist. The server we had was not very talkative and short in conversation. Pretty good as for the food, we had both a grilled fillet and the braised bison short ribs with little to no good things to say. I will say that the grilled fillet did have good flavor, but the potatoes and plate were very cold when the food came out. I don't like my food piping hot, but I would definitely love the potatoes and actual hot food was hot. Now for the breeze, short ribs, I will say that there was absolutely no flavor, the potatoes were also very cold and I just did not absolutely find anything satisfying in that plate. I could not finish my food and left disappointed. I did not bring it up to the attention since I was already a little frustrated and need to go look for dessert elsewhere. I've been here a few times - I don't know why it's taken me this long to review this place, Ambience: if I could give 10 stars, I would. The entrance is the coolest entrance ever. I'm not even going to try to explain it - just come see it for yourself! Food: obviously some things are better than others but I haven't ever been disappointed. Nothing has been sub-par yet. I keep coming back so that speaks volumes. Drinks: above and beyond. Just look at the pictures. Side note - they taste even BETTER than they look and they look AMAZING! Service: I have always had stellar service here at both the bar and table service. Servers and bartenders have been friendly and attentive - be sure to tip them well - they work hard! I do not see them sitting around. They stay busy and are always great at answering questions, making recommendations, or letting me know what I can and cannot have due to my many allergies. Kudos to to the staff! In conclusion, run don't walk to The Rabbit Hole! There is something for everyone here. read more

Super cool vibe. Definitely worth checking out for the atmosphere alone. It's got an underground, Alice in Wonderland, feel that makes it stand out in the Springs. We had the sticky ribs (delicious!), duck, cordon bleu, and bison short ribs. Everything was solid though not mind-blowing. Drinks were creative and fun. I'm forgetting our servers name but she was very attentive. Overall, a great spot for a unique night out. read more

Make reservations! This is a fantastic joint in a kinda sparse food zone that is colo springs. But, fret not as this place is all you need! The ambiance is super cool, love that it's underground and dark. The service was also pretty stellar. The white rabbit drink was a nice treat, as were, well all of the others. The sticky ribs were good, though a little meh quality of meat wise. Regarding entrees, the star of the show here is the truffle and and cheese. We are still thinking about it weeks later. It's sooo rich and there's enough to share. Honestly, I'd recommend finding a protein to split and sharing the Mac and cheese as your dinner. It's THAT good. The rabbit meatloaf was pretty good, even if it wasn't my jam. Wasn't gamey or anything either which was nice. The bison ribs were kinda the only meh thing we had. The quality was good, as was the prep, but it just lacked a lot of flavor, could've used some seasoning or a dip or something. It was just very much meat and nothing else. Lastly, the carrot cake was stellar! Generously portioned and very quality. Overall this was a great stop and I highly recommend trying them out! Just get reservations as there aren't many restaurants around. read more
This spot is an amazing find in the heart of The Springs! The environment from entrance to table is cool, fun, and different! Definitely a photo opp setting while still retaining an intimate feel. We went for our anniversary and truly enjoyed our experience from start to finish. Our drinks were fun AND delicious, starting us off great! Our server was kind and we started with brussel sprouts which were good but we also got risotto cakes which were better! The star of the show was our entrees. We were lucky to score a same-day reservation at The Rabbit Hole through OpenTable--this place stays busy, and for good reason. The entrance is whimsical and sets the tone for a unique dining experience. Just a heads-up: parking is limited out front, so plan to use the parking garage across the street. Once inside, the place is bustling. Service was quick enough, but don't expect immediate attention--it's a very busy spot and the staff are clearly doing their best to keep up. We started with the goat cheese balls and Crispy Risotto Cakes as an appetizer, and they were absolutely delicious--crispy, creamy, and a great way to kick things off. For entrées: I had the Bison Lettuce Wraps and loved them--flavorful, satisfying, and surprisingly filling. My sister had the Bison Short Ribs, but unfortunately, those were the low point of the night--dry and lacking in flavor. Everyone at our table gave them a try, and we all agreed they fell flat. My husband ordered the Duck Leg Confit and cleaned his plate--he couldn't get enough of it! The standout for the entire table was definitely the Mac n Cheese. Creamy, perfectly seasoned, and rich--we all raved about it and would order it again in a heartbeat. We ended the night by sharing the Moon Pie for dessert. It was super rich and indulgent--a great way to wrap up the meal. Overall, The Rabbit Hole is a fun, quirky place with great ambiance and several solid menu items. If you look at the world through a child's eyes, you will be full of wonder and joy, especially entering into this spot. The Rabbit Hole transports you into Alice in Wonderland incredible experience. Now we have more reason to return to Colorado Springs. The entrance itself will beckon you to explore and enjoy lingering a bit longer than expected. Situated in downtown, you'll find the telephone booth with stairs leading to an unforgettable adventurous experience. There is whimsical renditions of Alice in Wonderland decor and art work. With little nooks and corners tucked with great views of the restaurant, atop, main floor, back room, there isn't any bad seat. Gets really happening around happy hour so I recommend reservations. I simply couldn't resist the White Rabbit Martini. Who doesn't want their drink on fire with a toasted marshmallow awaiting at the end of the concoction? The babe had the Cherry Limeade which has a gummy slice as the garnish (not your childhood limeade). Also big fan of the T Party margarita that blends tequila and coconut rum for a drink bound to leave you smiling nonstop. Big fan of their numerous gluten free entree choices. WOW, I am speechless. The duck confit is so filling, rich with flavor and a fattiness my belly loved. The babe had their chicken cordon bleu and couldn't stop raving about it. Our other choice would be the bison short ribs. Was disappointed didn't get to have dessert because there wasn't gluten free option other than gelato. We are from Denver so we have never been there before but thought it was AWESOME. I had made a phone reservation earlier that week and when we showed up they didn't have our reservation. The hostess said she would squeeze us in somewhere. That was Great. Gannon was our server and when asked he gave great recommendations along with the most popular dishes. I had Bison Short Ribs my wife had Chicken Cordon Blu. Both were EXCELLENT! Awesome find! read more

We made reservations to come here and glad we did because we could tell this was the place to be on a Saturday night. Our waitress was super sweet and gave out some recommendations. We ended up with the Risotto Cakes, Sticky Ribs, Bison Short Ribs, and the Rabbit Meatloaf. Meat galore. The highlight for me was definitely the Bison Short Ribs. It was just a hearty plate of goodness and incredibly tender meat. The least favorite were probably the Risotto Cakes (still good though) only because it felt like they needed a bit more of the sauce to cut the saltiness of the risotto. It needed some more acid. Overall, highly recommend The Rabbit Hole for a date night! read more

Tonight, for the first time, I visited the Rabbit Hole. The goal was to see if one could craft a usable, viable dinner out of the appetizer spare ribs for $15 and the side chopped salad for $9. Worded another way, can a person assemble a reasonable and tasty dinner de facto for less than $30 at one of the city's better restaurants? The answer: yes. While service at the bar tables was lackluster, at best, the whiskey sticky ribs themselves were worthwhile. The style is a profoundly sweet, "wet" ilk, sometimes referred to as "Memphis style." But with the nice, charred patina, they work well. There's a reasonable amount of meat present. I didn't detect an undue amount of fat or gristle, even on the ends. They sit on a bed of cabbage. The chopped salad? Outstanding. But the question emerges: why would you dedicate such time and resources to a salad but provide .39 salad dressing? It makes little sense. What's disappointing? As alluded to above, the Blue Cheese dressing for the salad was of an indescribably cheap, "Hometown Buffet" grade, probably mayonnaise / soy based. I literally couldn't find even one piece of Blue Cheese in traversing the entire decanter with my fork. For a restaurant occupying this high of a station, yes, even in Colorado Springs? This should be a homemade variety with ample chunks of real cheese. As a worthy aside: I hit a nouveau French bistro in Englewood last week whose owner, hailing from Lyon, literally places gigantic pieces of solid French Roquefort in the burger for a small up charge. I was spoiled by them as I came here expecting something maybe remotely similar. Such proved woefully absent. The ribs should either sit atop a bed of ***rice*** with cabbage, or for a small extra fee, should be adorned with mashed potatoes. That would complete them as a meal item, regardless of whether one orders the appetizer ribs or the main course ones. The meat begins to exude redundancy without something meaningful balancing it, both in taste and texture, why rice or mashed potatoes. Finally, bread is an exotic side order with a separate charge levied for such. I didn't order it, as, again, at a fine dining venue--sorry, but I believe that I'm right here--not only should bread be complimentary, but you can judge a restaurant's culinary prowess by the quality and freshness of its complimentary bread. This unwritten rule will never fade, regardless of anti carbohydrate-leaning diet fads. The dungeon, basement facility is a little imposing. I didn't smell an overwhelming scent of great food, just historic construction smells. Laughable, but true. As with so many restaurants in Colorado Springs, the place packs tremendous potential, and with a modicum of meager adjustments could be so much greater. I will hopefully return, but in doing so, will bring my own salad dressing and yes, even a French roll with a pad or two of butter. Sorry, no photo of the chopped salad. read more

I wouldn't say so. It has the vibe of a lounge or classy club without the dancing and very fancy food. While they might like the decor it's pretty fancy for kiddos.

Yes there is an elevator that goes down to the restaurant. The entrance is on the building right next to the entrance on the side walk.…
Is there a place for large group, like 15 people?
They can accommodate larger groups, but this place gets busy so you'll need to coordinate ahead of time.
Are there any vegan options to make a rabbit proud? Or just the standard, "we can take the meat and cheese off and charge the same price" kind of thing?…
They have what they call "rabbit food" with some salad options.
What is the dress code?
I feel comfortable in a sports jacket and tie, also in just nice jeans and a nice shirt. I wouldn't where shorts or sweats.
Are there non-alcoholic speciality drinks available?
Some of their Specialty drinks can be ordered "virgin ".
Are kids allowed?
They are. But it really isn't a restaurant you'd bring kids. No one else brings them. The setting can be romantic or classy. Kids would ruin the atmosphere for others around. And probably your mood to lol.
Is it claustrophobic being in a basement? Good fire exits?
