Hidden inside the Wobbly Olive; Allusion Bar is like no other. The entire bar transforms with a movie theme! Recently, (it's 14 August 2025 as I type this) the theme changed to Jurassic Park. Previously it was Shrek. Unique food selections are available from the Wobbly Olive. The duck l'orange sandwich was awesome! The drink specials are adjusted to the theme of the present. If you're within 25 miles of Colorado Springs you need to visit.

I am elated to return with a 5-star review. Allusion has now become my absolute favorite place to grab drinks and NOW bites as well. I've now been 3 times this year for: Harry Potter (downtown), Shrek Swamp (Powers), and Jurassic Bar (downtown). They've grown in every single way. Customer engagement, decorations, menu offerings, and taste. I haven't had a single bad drink. They are themed to the nines. You can order off both the themed menu and the Wobbly Olive menu. This last time we ordered the soup dumplings from the Wobbly menu and they were perfectly flavored. We also ordered the meatballs from the Jurassic menu and they were even larger than expected. The Shrek menu is still my favorite...the rat on the stick (chicken, haha) with peanut sauce was addicting. Also PSA- if you dress up you get a free shot! When we went to Shrek and dressed up we could pick any free shot off the menu. At Jurassic Downtown, we got a free jello shot. But hey, free is free! I highly recommend going all out and dressing up is encouraged. The servers dress up as well and it makes it so fun. They truly look like they are having a great time as well. They are interactive and check on your table frequently. The wait time on both drinks and food is short, and this last time we went during peak dinner time on a Saturday. It is hard to get reservations for larger groups (4+) so make sure you pick a day and time in advance. Weekends get booked super fast. As of now it seems they are keeping themes for 2-ish months. Really hoping for a Pirates of the Caribbean theme!!

This is our second visit to Allusions (first was at the Powers location) and we are HOOKED! The theme this go-around was Nightmare Before Christmas. Again, decor ON POINT, down to every last detail. There were even other guests who came dressed up as Sally and Jack! Such a great vibe every visit!! Our server/ bartender, Aalliyah, was awesome!!! Personable, outgoing, and very knowledgeable. She had excellent recommendations for cocktails that were tailored to our preferences, all of which turned out perfectly! We had dinner in addition to drinks and we were once again wildly impressed with both the food quality and the presentation. A lot of thought and effort goes into each dish (apps, entrees, and desserts!) and we have yet to have one that we didn't enjoy. The food is not your typical bar quality selections. Instead, you are offered carefully crafted delights from The Wobbly Olive, the speakeasy's restaurant front. The bar also offers uniquely themed menu items in addition to the restaurant's regular menu. We are now officially Allusion Speakeasy ADDICTS and can't wait for the upcoming Harry Potter themes! Will be visiting both Tejon and Powers since each one will be featuring different HP locations! Voting is open for May's theme so visit their social media pages to get in on the fun!

Adventured down to Colorado Springs yesterday to check out this gem of a speakeasy! Let me tell you, it was ogre-the-top fun. That's right they just switched the theme to Shrek. From floor to ceiling the place was decked out in murals of our favorite fairytale characters from the film. They have a large screen playing the original film (cue the nostalgia). The music was the soundtrack. The showstopper though was the menu of Cocktails from Far Far Away. Each drink was named after a classic Shrek reference: Puss N Boots (smooth and a little dangerous), Duloc Is... (definitely a perfect place), True Love's First Kiss (sweet and magical), and Compensating for Something (big flavor, no short jokes here). We each tried three--because like Donkey said, "we like parfaits"--and every one of them was delicious. The bartenders added even more layers to the fun, decked out in full Farquaad and Pinocchio attire. Honestly, it felt like we stepped right into a swampy fairytale rave--and we're not mad about it. We will be coming down again for the next theme in 60-90 days.

Allusion Speakeasy has an incredible vibe. The decor is stunning and very detailed--it's clear they put a lot of thought into creating an immersive experience. The Harry Potter theme during my visit was such a fun touch, and I love that they change themes often! The menu is creatively structured, with drinks categorized by "years" from 1st Year to 6th Year, representing the progression from lowest to highest alcohol content. The service was fantastic--attentive, friendly, and thorough in explaining the concept and drink options. The drink I ordered sounded amazing with flavors of passionfruit, orange, and lime, but unfortunately, the light and dark rum completely overpowered the fruity notes. It wasn't quite balanced, which was a bit disappointing.

Found this place online while visiting Colorado springs. I had high expectations but unfortunately it didn't live up. The decorations are really cool and the drink presentation is unique and pleasing but menu is very limited and food is expensive for the price. 3 chicken wings for 15 dollars is a bit much.

Such a fun place to go and hang out! Drinks are innovative and fun and all based on different themes. We went during Beetlejuice! Service is always top tier. We already have our next reservation set!

This is a pop-u[ easy bar that is located in the back of a restaurant and opens when the restaurant closes. It is kind of weird how you walk in. You enter the front door of Kelly's, a restaurant, which is closed and dark, then walk to the back through a door, and then there you are. The bar;s theme rotates quarterly and the theme during my visit was Alice in Wonderland. They were changing to a Harry Potter theme the following week and previously had a Star Wars theme. There is metered street parking available within a reasonable walking distance, but I had trouble finding a spot and had to park a few blocks away. Reservations here are not just recommended, they are a must. This place is very small and cramped. You can reserve a table or bar seat. You will need to reserve a spot with your credit card and would be charged a no-show few if you do not make your reservation. I must admit, that had me a bit worried, because you do not know what could pop up. I was able to make a reservation for he same day, through their website, but it was for 10PM, which was pretty late for me. I made it any way because I really wanted to check this place out. You get a time limit of like an hour and a half to two hours there. So, it is not a good spot to just chill at. My server was friendly and helpful. He immediately brought water to my table and then gave me time to look over the menu. The bar's ambiance was very nice. It was dimly lit, some of the staff were in costume, the new Alice in Wonderland movie was playing on a projector screen. And the decorations were all based on the theme. The menu was a costume book with signature Alice in Wonderland Cocktails and some light food items. The cocktails were exotic, in some cases too exotic for my taste. I ordered a Don't Step on the Mome Raths, followed by a Singing Flowers. It took about five minutes for me to get the drinks. The drinks were ok, but not usually my taste. As I mentioned they had exotic ingredients that I was not use to and I am a sweet drink guy. The drink prices are competing with other similar bars, which is on the bit pricey end, but you not only get a drink, you get an experience. They also focus on the drink's presentation. You must take a picture of these concoctions. This is a cool little spot, with a neat concept. By its size alone, it is very exclusive. I would say that a 3.5 rating for this place would be more appropriate, but it is closer to a 4 than a 3 in my opinion, so that it what I went with. So, if you are going to go here, with more than 3 people you really need to plan ahead, or get lucky. It is definitely worth a peek.

My friend accidentally made a reservation for the Downtown location, but we were fortunate enough to get squeezed into the Powers location at our reservation time. The staff were very accommodating and kind about that. The room was very small, but I loved the ambiance and decor. This month's theme was Alice in Wonderland. We sat at a communal table with another group of people who were already there. It was fun making new friends! We ordered 4 drinks, 2 shots, and a dessert between my friend and I. I don't remember the names of them so I'll just describe it by the glass...because let's be real, I ordered based on the cool shaped glasses it came in. Rose shaped wine glass - this drink had a layer of egg white on top and normally I'm not a fan of that, but this was definitely my favorite drink of the night. This is gonna sound weird, but it tasted like an alcoholic version of Yakult. Super yummy! Glass with a spout - this drink was very ginger beer forward, I'd recommend it if you like ginger as that was very much the dominating flavor. Carrot one with tequila - I think this is the only one that is made with carrot and has tequila in it. I wasn't a huge fan of it since I'm not a huge fan of tequila. We were told by the people sitting next to us that it tasted like carrot cake, but when we had it, it was nothing of that sort. I guess it just depends on which bartender makes your drink? Un-birthday shot - I remember the name of this one because this was for my birthday! It literally tastes like birthday cake without being overly sweet. Love this one as well! Blue glittery heart-shaped shot - Ok, let me just warn you, this "shot" is more like three shots. Neither of us could finish it in one shot. It's more of a sipper kind of shot. And it's glittery! Yes, very very glittery. Tasted like blue curacao and lemon to me. Lemon cheesecake - You can never go wrong with cheesecake! This lemon cheesecake came with a raspberry drizzle and white chocolate shreds-a wonderful combination! Overall, we had a lovely time at Allusions and our server who was taking care of everyone there did an amazing job attending to all of us. I will definitely be returning! Looking forward to the next theme!

FOOD: I had an Angus Ribeye, which was tasty and done to precisely the color I wanted, but really needed to be trimmed of fat and gristle better. My wife had the chopped salad the whiskey sticky ribs from the apps menu, and liked both of them a lot. Servings were generous. The drink end is where things shine. Their Sazerac was excellent. The "Espresso" Ol' Fashion was quite good. The signature White Rabbit Martini (complete with flaming marshmallow) was kind of gimmicky, but quite drinkable. SERVICE: Our waitstaffer was friendly, helpful, and showed up as often as we expected. The place draws a lot of patrons, even on weekdays, so reservations are highly recommended. We managed to get seated as walk-ins, but it was a bit iffy and it was at 4:30pm on a Tuesday. They are also strict on how long parties of a given size are allowed to hog a table. That makes sense for the number of diners, but still felt a bit off-putting (though the duration given for a party of 2, 90 minutes, was comfortable). AMBIANCE: That's why you're here of course, and from the sidewalk stairs leading down to the plethora of Alice-in-Wonderland artwork on the black walls, the atmosphere is thick and delightful. VALUE: Premium prices, though servings are generous and the quality is good. NET-NET: Definitely a worthwhile experience. I wouldn't mind going there again on a future visit to the Springs.
