Even then, me and my mom didn't wait much longer than 15 mins. I wanted to alternate hot pink with a classic checkerboard pattern on every other nail. It's not the craziest design, but it definitely takes skill and attention to detail to have the pattern line up while still following the natural curve of the nail. Staff is very sweet, and very communicative. The 2 ladies checked over my nails pretty thoroughly, even just to make sure they got a good coating. On Saturday, June 27, 2026, at approximately 1:00 p.m., my husband and I stopped by Shiny Nails in Nampa to ask about the cost of a full set of acrylic nails and whether they accepted same-day walk-ins. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing from the moment we walked in. There was no one at the front desk, and none of the employees acknowledged or greeted us. Several technicians were working with customers, but no one looked up or let us know someone would be with us shortly. When someone finally responded, it was difficult to tell who was speaking because everyone was wearing masks, and the employees appeared to be speaking to each other rather than directly to us. A customer receiving services actually had to help translate what was being said. I mentioned that I couldn't tell who was talking because of the masks, but I still had difficulty hearing or understanding. Eventually, I was told a full acrylic set was $50 and that I could wait, but the technician immediately turned back to her customer without making sure I understood. Once again, another customer kindly explained what had been said. At that point, I simply said I would call later to make an appointment and left. I understand businesses get busy, and I appreciate that the technicians were serving existing customers. However, even during busy times, a simple greeting, eye contact, or "We'll be with you in a few minutes" goes a long way. Instead, we left feeling like our questions were an inconvenience and that our business wasn't valued. As local residents, we want to support businesses in our community. Unfortunately, based on this experience, we did not feel welcomed or treated with basic courtesy. I hope this feedback helps improve the customer experience for future walk-in customers. As of early September 2022 I believe is when the new owners took over. So sad. The old owners was amazing and friendly. I tried the new owners once and that's all for me. Now I have to find a new spot : \ No more eyebrow waxing at this place either which is disappointing bc I need a one stop shop. The phone number changed too fyi. I wouldn't recommend them at all since the new owners took over. Cash only now boo! They have a ATM but it charges you a fee. Regular pedicure was $35 and I was not happy with the outcome. Today, I had my second appointment at Shiny Nails with Lucy. I was on time at 2 pm. Another woman was seated at her table. Lucy was filing the customer's nails, which was a clue that she wasn't going to be finished soon. I asked someone else how much longer she would be and was told 20 minutes. I stood up and stated that my time was important too. Every eye was on me in the salon; however, that was okay by me. I clearly said that I had a 2 pm. appointment and that my time was important too. Disregarding her appointment with me was a show of disrespect, as I had been willing to commit to a day and time to be at the salon. It is shortsighted to give preference to the customer who would walk in off the street without an appointment. I do not take it personally, as she does not know me. She'll disrepect anyone. Keep this in mind if you care about the way you are treated as a customer. read more

Requested pedicure & gel for my hands but because of the lack of confidence he provided while doing my feet I didn't proceed further...I told them, I could do this at home & gently said that I was leaving. When i told the younger girl at the cashier I would pay $35 but not $40 because of his poor service she became indignant where even a customer chimed in HER obscenities The young girl meanly stated, "I know people like you who don't wanna pay and want for FREE!" I told her, she did NOT know me and THIS was where payment was wanted for a service NOT properly given...right is right & wrong is wrong. We both agreed on $35 & was paid. I have had the best gel fill job by Men ever. She is conscientious, takes her time and does a fantastic job.

So a little over a week and half , I got my nails done by them and my nail started hurting .. I popped them off because it was weird and I've always gotten my nails done so it was weird to me that my nail was hurting , I took my nails off and under my right hand ring finger my nail was green , had fungus growing under my nail . So I waited till the next morning due to it being late , I went in and asked for a manager I was super polite due to them having a customers and I simply asked for my refund for the last 3 visits because due to the fungal growing under my nail, they proceeded to ask me what I do for work and told they would fix my nail and give me service .. ABSOLUTELY NOT , which I declined cause one why would I get more service after I saw what I needed to see ON MY FINGER , I told them no I want a refund for my service because this isn't a broken or chipped nail this is a FUNGAL INFECTION.. Proceeded to tell me since it's been more than a week they weren't able to refund my MONEY AT ALL CAUSE IT WAS THEIR POLICY , I asked to see the policy they said it was at their HOUSE . mind you I believe it was their son that was translating to me because the mother who I believe was the owner was helping someone else -- poor management , continued to conversate and question WHY IS THE POLICY AT YOUR HOUSE AND NOT YOUR ESTABLISHMENT BECAUSE THIS IS YOUR BUSINESS ? They had basically no answer for me .. -- I will be reporting this to the health department and BBB because I hope this doesn't happen to someone else that might catch the same thing and it's too late .. This place is a hole in the wall next to Sarah's bagel but they do such a great job!! I had a pedicure and it was so nice! I appreciate them taking their time getting all the calluses off my feet and the lower leg/foot massage was great. I always feel so rushed at other nail salons but not at this one. The owner is honest about how long the wait time is. I've been to other salons that say the wait is 15 minutes when the wait time is definitely much longer. They take appointments too so it's great. I'm a retired nail technician and I usually do my own nails and pedicures but I was moving and wanted to be pampered. My nails were in terrible shape and Lucy fixed them up and made them look fantastic. I was so pleased. She was polite and professional. One of the worst experiences I have ever had at a nail salon. I got get nails done last week and two days after, I had two chipped nails. By the third and fourth day almost all my nails had some small or big chip. I got my nails done for a wedding so I wanted them to look nice. I called and asked if they would be willing to redo my nails since they hadn't lasted even a week- and it appeared there was an issue with the gel getting cured correctly. They said that was fine and I drove the 35+ minutes to the salon and got my nails redone. I decided to get my toe nails painted and said I would pay for them, and told the lady that checked me in, that I was getting my nails redone for free, and then the lady that did my nails I also mentioned what had happened. She was friendly and did some extra manicure clipping etc. I thought that was kind of her. When I went to check-out they told me $65. I was shocked and had told them that they had gotten my total wrong. I was charged $15 to get my toe nails painted and of course would tip, but that my nails were done as a courtesy. They all completely turned from kind and smiley to mean and demanding. They accused me of lying and of asking questions I knew the answer to, I have honestly never been more embarrassed. I said I didn't want to fight or argue but tried to calmly explain my situation. They said I had to pay and didn't listen to anything I said. I told them I would have never driven all the way to Nampa if I knew they wouldn't do the nails for free- they could not have cared less. They said- YOU PAY -- in front of everyone in the shop. I went in my car and cried and will never visit this establishment again- and for your sakes, I would avoid it as well. read more

This place has the worst customer service! I asked for a manicure. I got the older vietnamese lady. Her work was awful. She kept hurting me by digging into my skin trying to clean her messy work with her nails. The polish was all over the tips of my fingers, even after she was done. I had to ask for the massage that she had not planned to give me. I should've not wasted my time. It was terrible along with the rest of my experience. When I complained to management, she simply said she'd talk to her. I said I was unhappy and didn't want to pay the full price. I got my nails done and upper lip waxed here and I was very happy w the experience. I got the gel polish and it looks great. When getting my lip waxed, she took the time afterwards to check if any stray hairs needed to be plucked and got rid of those, too. In my experience, many people at nail salons are not particularly friendly/talkative, but that was not the case here. Mya (it's awful cause I'm not sure that's what she goes by...she goes by a nickname instead of her full name on the business card) is very friendly and talkative. We laughed and she told me about good restaurants and shops in the area. She asked about my day and family and seemed interested. She also has a great memory and greeted every guest by name as they walked in. I will definitely be back. I highly recommend making an appointment because I'm sure they take walk-ins, but I don't think they always have openings. read more

Never going back to this salon. It took 2 hours to do my sister and my manicure. Poor time management. I had my gel nails removed and that left gunk all over my hands that I'm still scrapping off. I asked for French tips and they look absolutely horrible. I'm embarrassed to even post pictures of their work. Immediately when I got home I used nail polish remover to take off the hack job they did. Go somewhere else unless you want to be disappointed. read more
