Get my nails done here always looks amazing I get my nails done my Lyn and toes done by kim they are so amazing!
While they were very friendly, Kevin (I think) felt like he had way too much coffee. His energy was not relaxing and I worried that he would do a good job. I got a full set of acrylics and he had great detail on that and when I messed took a chunk of the white off, he did it again without open complaint. My only complaint is that the polish was not even on the top and the underneath looked like a huge mess. I also thought the edges were too sharp and didn't round them off enough. I did ask for square but like more rounded edges. I probably won't go back due to the gel polish unevenness but overall was good.
On the 9th of August I had a pedi and gel mani. My tech, Mary, was very rough filing the sides of my nails and removing cuticles. But worse was leaving my hands under the gel heater too long, which burnt my thumbs and fingers. Today I have several blisters. I would have gone back today to show the owner, but after reading in the reviews that he gets mad or defensive, I chose to use this method instead.
I moved to the area about 9 months ago. I have been looking around for a nail salon for months! I never found one that I loved until I went to Star Nails! They do an amazing job! I have gotten acrylics, dip, and pedicures down there. Every time they have exceeded my expectations. It is also very clean and they are extremely friendly. I would definitely recommend visiting!
I love this place! I've been getting my gel pedi & mani here now for several years. They pay attention to little details and never make you feel rushed. Brain is my go too and he is friendly and does an excellent job. Highly recommend.
Love this place! I called three places for a reservation the day of and they're the only ones who had space. My nails are beautiful and they took a lot of care in cleaning and trimming my nails.
My parents live in the area and typically when I come to visit I like to pamper myself on vacation and will get my nails done. I've been here a couple of times and have had pleasant experiences in the past, however the last time I went here for a gel mani/pedi combo it was the worst nail experience I have ever had. Due to this recent experience, I will not be returning to this place nor do I recommend it. My pedicure was done by a young man who I will give the benefit of the doubt to, since he seemed newer/inexperienced. Overall, it was ok, but when I saw the final product of my toe nails... the painting was nothing less than atrocious. There was polish all over my cuticles and skin, not to mention it took 3x the amount of time to paint versus someone more experienced. Again, I gave him the benefit of the doubt and didn't initially say anything and accepted the result. Then it was time for my gel mani and I was thankfully (or so I thought) put with another nail tech. Not only was she rushing to do my nails, she cut me several times on my cuticles and seemed to be entirely aloof to the terrible job she was doing. I spoke up a few times to tell her to fix my nail bc i saw there was polish on the cuticle or an area wasn't covered. She fixed it but not without making me feel awkward for asking. Once I was finished I paid $50 for the service and reluctantly left a $5 tip. As I'm walking to the car, the sun outside allowed me to get a pretty good view of what my toes/fingers looked like. It was absolutely terrible. Again I had nail polish ALL over my toe nails and the gel polish was similarity all over my cuticles. Let me reiterate that I've been getting gel manis religiously for YEARS and the number one rule with gel is to never get it on the skin otherwise it will cause lifting. Several of my nails were caked on with gel polish and they appeared chunky and super SLOPPY. The gel immediately lifted off of a couple of nails. I decided to go back inside to let them know of the issues. Immediately I have like several nail techs, who didn't even perform the service rushing to their defense firing off excuses left and right for the result. This put me in an awkward position and honestly made me feel bad thinking it was my fault... clearly it wasn't. The woman who did my gel mani ended up redoing both my mani and pedi. The end result was better and acceptable when I left and I ended up giving her another $5 tip for the extra time and work. However, it has been a day and my gel mani is still lifting due to being applied on the skin and it looks like i have a week of growth since she didn't paint close enough to the cuticle. All in all, this place seems to be a hit or miss and I'm not interested in gambling with their inconsistencies. I do not recommend. Also to mention their prices are quite high comparatively. I got a discount due to the combo service, but separately each service would've been $28 (spa pedi) and $27 (gel mani). I typically see $20-$25 for these services. Anyway this was unfortunately my experience and in hindsight should've just asked for my money back and left.
I have noticed that they overbook themselves a lot, I've been coming here for almost a year and didn't have any issues until the last two times. I made appointments for both of these visits and was seated 30 min after my appointment time. I normally schedule on my lunches so every minute really counts. I've also noticed they seem a bit rushed now and I feel the quality has suffered a bit
We made an appointment at 10 am, they were open and ready for customers by 9:45. This is superb business practice, right off the batt. I got a full set of acrylics, perfectly done to the photo I brought in. And I got a pedicure. They did such a thorough job and it felt very relaxing and so much less like a routine maintenance pedicure. The women were nice, interactive, and kept their private conversations to a minimum. I will definitely be coming back again and again.
Just visiting the area and my husband and I where in dire need of pedi's. It is like pulling teeth to get him in. I had a mani as well, and both of my services were top notch! Super friendly family working in the shop very clean and busy! My husband's only complaint was they cut his toes too short. But all in all we got right in and we were out in about an hour and a half!
The staff was so fun! The guy I had was so patient with me when I kept messing up my nails. They didn't even laugh at my horrible spay tan!! Love this place.
I'm not sure I will be returning. My friends had good things to say about this place and with 4 other salons being entirely booked today, I decided to try this one. Turns out, now I know why they weren't booked. The photos show my pedicure when I walked out and was sitting in the car. After not getting a pedicure since 2019, this was a day I wanted to decompress and relax with pampering myself. Not only was the job completely half-assed but my husband went with me and his pedicure took longer than mine--- and he obviously doesn't even get nail polish! Mine was completed in under 20 minutes. Sad. I'm not looking for a place that treats me as just a number. My lady didn't even say hi to me. I would like a refund.

If I could give zero stars I would. Worst pedicure of my entire life. I left on the verge of tears; I should have stopped the service from the beginning but was genuinely shocked by what was happening. The guy was so rushed and aggressive; he cut me twice within 10 minutes of being there. He was distracted the entire time, constantly getting up and down to talk to his employees or answer the phone with the nail tools still in his hands. The nail clippers were so dull that he had pull on the ends to get them off. He also paid no mind when doing the clear coat and slathered it all over my skin (huge biohazard). When I brought this to his attention he did nothing to fix it. He was also extremely rough with the "massage", so much so that the entire chair was shaken back and forth. I left with EXTREMELY short, sore, and completely JAGGED nails that are too short to be fixed elsewhere. read more

Absolutely LOVE!!! Will definitely be coming back here! The girl who did my nails was very kind and accommodating to me being picky about the length. The service was done in a very timely manner and very reasonably priced. Highly recommend! read more

I've tried a lot of nail salons in and around Boise. Star nails is by far my favorite! They always make time or are so easy to work with to schedule appointments. Customer service is amazing. April always does a fantastic job on my nails. I'll never go anywhere else again! read more

I had gel pedicure done from the other place which I love but the day that I needed the padicure done the place I love didn't open. So I decided to go get my padicure at this place. I had just a regular padicure which was ok. The guy who did my nails seemed rush and the way he removed my old gel pedicure he was using electronic nails drill or screws I don't know how they called. It cracked my toenails both side of my feet and I usually have a healthy looking toenails I won't come back here again. read more

I had a GREAT experience here with Lee. She did amazing. I love how my dip nails turned out. I have tried several places since moving here and haven't been satisfied. Now I found my lady! Not to mention, I called the morning of NYE and they were so nice to fit me in! She removed my old dip w/tips from another salon and redid them for me as well as clean up my cuticles without having to ask. Very worth it for $45 ! read more

I was able to make an appointment three hours before so that was awesome! Every other place was booked up. I had April do my fill with gel. She was nice and friendly :) she did a good job. Already received compliments and it's been three hours :) the nails are filed straight with the perfect amount of gel. I will definitely be coming back, I had to have a nail replaced when I lost a fight with the bathroom door, so I ended up paying $40 for these beauties. read more
