On occasion I like to go and get a pedicure with my wife and daughter. My wife found this place recently moving to the area. The family that runs this mail shop is awesome. Everyone works here mom, dad, daughter, grandpa and even cousin. My experience here was awesome. Loved the banter back and forth between the family and the customers. Wow, what a horrible experience. I got a manicure and pedicure, and they both turned out terrible. The man who did my pedicure did a horrible job on my toenails. He applied way too many layers of nail polish, and it's thick, uneven, and all over the skin around my toenails. He didn't even clean my nails properly before he started. The woman who did my full set rushed through the appointment, and the results were awful. My nails looked like claws. One nail was thicker and bumpier than the others, and the shape was completely uneven. She said she had 10 years of experience, but the quality of the work did not reflect that at all. I was going to a class reunion. My normal nail tech was on vacation so I tried SK Nails because I live 2 minutes from the salon. Had my nails done on a Tuesday. Had to go back on Wednesday for a broken nail. The following Sunday another break while I was getting dressed while I was on this trip. Had that one fixed on Tues when I returned. In a few days I had another break while ironing then the first repaired nail broke again. This morning another one broke while toweling off after my shower. 5 breaks in less than 2 weeks. I made an appointment for GelX and was given acrylic extensions. i didn't say anything because i figured oh well, it's not the end of the world. i wish i had spoken up because these nails were not done well at all. the guy buffed my nails too much which made it burn while he was applying, he didn't take it far enough down the nail so it looks like it's already been growing out for a week despite them being done today, the acrylic was thickly and unevenly applied leaving some nails bumpy and others club shaped, and my nails were angled upwards! i will never get my nails done here again and will be booking an appointment elsewhere to get them removed asap read more

The WORST EXPERIENCE EVER at SK-Nails in Boise. The owner (Kim) was a complete B*TCH and 'yelled' at me upon checkout in front of other customers & it was very embarrassing. My bf bought me a gift card as a surprise anniversary gift and they closed for a couple months during covid-19, then who's thinking of going to get a pedicure in the begging of a medical pandemic? I called months later to see if they would still accept the gift card and the owners husband (Sam) said "come on in, we take care of you". I later popped in for a manicure/pedicure and at check out the Kim (owner) would NOT honor the $40 gift card and started making a scene yelling "you crazy, this is business". They were obviously not on the same page. Not only was she unprofessional but the pedicure was mediocre. The gentlemen did not do foot scrub or, cuticle pushback/cut. Found this place randomly as they were one of very few open on a Sunday. Called and made an appt for 3 people and they were able to take us. We were taken right away. I have to say, my nails looked amazing. They are so fast! My nails are very thin and natural looking. I tend to have an issue with acrylics lifting. Been here several times now and never had a problem with lifting. I see some comments about Kim being rude. I personally have never seen that. I see no nonsense but I appreciate that. Everyone is always fun to talk to. We are now happy to drive over 30 minutes to get here whenever we need are nails done. So happy to have found this place! I have had many pedicures in my day, and this was one of the best I'd recieved. I was very happy with the cleanliness of the equipment, chairs, tubs (they use liners) and choices of colors for gel polish. The prices were competitive, but on the lower side for a gel pedicure. They are great about answering the phones to make an appointment, but do also take walk ins. Unlike many other nail salons, they are open 7 days a week and only closed on main holidays. The tech who did my pedicure said that sundays are usually the busiest day, so I'd recommend making an appointment or calling ahead. They did have a tv playing football so that was an added bonus to an already great place! read more

Got my nails done for a girls day with my friend, blonde tech was amazing and she did wonderful. I love her service and my nails look amazing. My friend likes her nails but her tech, did a rush job. She noticed he didn't file her nails or cut them and just went straight to putting her acrylics on. I was about 20 minutes in and her tech was caught up in the process five minutes after he started. The gentleman who did my nails did a great job. I chose the color red and I know that can be pretty fun trying to keep clean around the edges and he did really good with that. I smudged my toe trying to get the sandal on and he fixed it for me. Someone else took my payment and acknowledged my name which you don't get now a days and this was my first time there. The First Time I went In for a fill The owner kept yelling at my nail technician, she got nervous and her work showed. The second time I went in for a pedi and my nails where crooked and un even. The third time I went in for another pedi and was pleasantly surprised, she did a really good job, the owner worked on me. My cousin came down for a visit and she liked my pedi so much i made her an appointment with the owner. Over the phone I told her I loved her job and was sending my cousin over so she could do her pedi, she was happy to make an appointment for the same day. Acrylic dust everywhere, prior customers nail clippings and reused instruments and towels not cleaned between customers. Ick. Even the plants in this place are covered with dust. However, there are pictures of Trump, tv's set to Newsmax and Newsy. If you don't require shop cleanliness, they do a good job...but I'd rather get my nails done elsewhere where it's clean and not so political. read more

This is a new salon on Lake Hazel, open just 2 days. I made appt yesterday for dip powder, went in today. I met the co-owner, Sean, who did a great job with pink into white ombre in dip powder. Sean is an easy conversant. He is personable, smiling, positive. His wife Kim is the other co-owner, she works there and Sean calls her "the boss" (smart man!). Because everything is new, you know you are getting quality products. Their pedi chairs are massaging chairs. I'll get a pedi next time. I have visited this salon many times for pedicures, gel manicures, and dipped nails. Each time I went, I said I wouldn't go again and only did because of the location being convenient. I have never been impressed with the feel of the place (kind of noisy, felt like an assembly line). The last few times I had dips they were super thick, and the process felt rough. Also didn't love that if I scheduled for dips and a pedicure, they would start removing my prior dip as I was getting my pedicure, which took away from the relaxation of my pedicure (and also felt like I was being very rushed). The last time I was there, my cuticle was bleeding after having my dip done, and the person doing my nails acted like it wasn't a big deal, slapped some cuticle stuff on them with a brush, and put the brush (with my blood on it) back in the bottle. Even though I was a repeat customer several times, I always felt like I was just a number or dollar sign. My favorite nail salon! I've been coming here periodically for years since it was right down the street from my house. I recently moved away and still drive across town to come here. I've never made an appointment, I am strictly a spur of the moment walk-in type gal. Even when they're super busy, they always fit me in incredibly quick. Katie is my most favorite tech and I'm always excited when she's available! Most of the other techs are great as well, but I definitely have my favorites. It is a little chaotic and messy, and I am not a fan of the super conservative political television news shows that are always on. But I'd say it's definitely worth the cost, especially with the deluxe gel pedicure I always get, and I'll continue to drive out of my way just for this awesome place. read more

Came with my mom to get a pedicure. We called in and they had availability about an hour and a half after we called. They got us in quickly. Water temp was perfect. The chairs had massagers which was nice. I had Daniel. He did a great job. We got the sugar scrub and lotion which I recommend. He did a great job with the polish and was so nice. I live right down the road and have had a pedicure there before that I enjoyed. I went yesterday for my birthday and decided to ask if they could do a gel manicure while I was about to check out. The owner Kim said yes 55 for everything. I had thought she meant with my basic pedicure and was thrilled. So I sat down and she started on my nails and that's where my entire experience went down hill. I didn't have time to look at colors since it was last minute and when we couldn't find the color for the look I wanted, I started searching for other ideas. She seemed irritated that I couldn't choose in 1 minute. Anyway I said I'll just do brown. At that point she immediately says I don't know which brown, I don't have the brown you want you need to go look. I was appalled and the people around us were looking at us. In a hurry I just picked a color. She rushed my entire manicure and a gel manicure with one nail repair and French tip cost me $58!!!! ON MY NATURAL NAILS!
