In the middle of my service for the pedicure portion, 6 other customers walked in and were waiting, so when I was done with the pedicure (about 1pm), they had me sit in the pedicure chair for another 40 minutes while they tended to the other customers who walked in. They did a decent job but very bad time management and they need more employees. read more

I really wanted this place to work as I live in walking distance and it was built up and everything was new and clean. I made an appointment online for a Friday afternoon. As I walked in 5 minutes early every technician was being utilized and every waiting couch and seat spot taken. I was ordered to check in by phone number and after about 10 minutes, put in a pedicure chair. The male hastily filled it with freezing cold water and left me for 20 minutes. I refused to put my feet in and was about to get up to leave as I had an appointment they weren't honoring yet kept taking walk in customers. When he finally came over, I told him the water was ice cold and I'm not putting my feet in. It took 4 other coworkers to stop what they were doing, ask repeatedly why I didn't want pedicure? And finally someone helped make it clear the water was freezing. The pedicure itself was rushed and not great and I value my time more than the short walk there. Never again read more

Went in last Sunday to do my nails with my toddler as we were both part of a wedding. To start off, I made the appt. the week prior but they acted like I never did. So it was packed and we were treated like walk ons and lots of people went before us. Then, he charged me $65 for gel rainbow French nails that lasted 5 days (see photos). I know French nails are more expensive (this is not my first rodeo) but the fact that he charged me extra for being rainbow is ridiculous. He seemed to be annoyed that they were packed and due to poor planning didn't have time for us, so he told me rainbow was "$6" more (a number he made up on the spot). My nails chipped on Friday, the day before the wedding so they didn't even last a week. This place needs a lot of improvement. I should of read the reviews before coming. read more

If you have come here before keep in mind they changed their prices DRASTICALLY. My set originally would have come out to approximately $75 including tip my set today came out to $125 including tip. I asked for gel X stiletto but they look more almond and no matter how many times I asked for them to be sharp he wouldn't be able to do it. Next was the roughness. I told the guy that my nails were brittle and thin and asked if he could be more gentle when filing. He was not. I was in a lot of pain when he filed my natural nails and when filing the nails to shape. He then screwed up on one of the nails so it look's sideways and not just a little bit sideways, very noticeable sideways. He couldn't do the design I wanted so they put me with a nail tech who could ( very normal for them some of them can't do a very detailed design) and when I asked her to fix the crooked nail she said it was fine. Let me start off by saying I've had some poor experiences and have never gone out of my way to leave a review. I have had 3 HORRIBLE experiences here. It is no shock this new establishment has dropped down to 2 stars in less than 6 months. I was booked for a mani + pedi. First of all they burned the crap out of my leg with water hotter than i've ever felt before when she used the hose to rinse my leg I jumped out of the chair and fought tears. Was less than relaxed. Before my pedicure was done I was told I needed to get a gel nail set because they had 4 customers walk in and needed to service them for manicures instead of me!!! I HAD AN APPOINTMENT FOR LUMINARY MANICURE!!!!! I paid for my crappy (and overcharged) pedicure and walked out to go to a different salon. It gets worse... Had to return after less than a week because my GEL polish came off my toe and the woman ARGUED with the staff to redo my nails and glared at me! Had to sit there until she was done with her client because no one else would simply repaint my nails! (60 minutes!!!!!!) The tech that I was given did not even do my first basic gel pedicure correct. Painted the end of my french tip first, then painted SIDEWAYS LEFT TO RIGHT a nude polish for the base. When I asked for it to be done correctly with the base first she couldn't understand me and the nails turned out lumpy. This place is by far the rudest, most unprofessional establishment I have EVER been to. I will not be back and will surely hope this helps prevent others from a negative experience that is supposed to be a luxury. read more

I took my daughter here as a birthday treat for gel pedicures. My water was so hot that it burned my foot. Both pedicures were rough. The massages hurt, they filed our skin & we both have sore toes from it. AND my tech used my foot to wipe off the cuticle gunk instead of the towel. It was so gross! Didn't enjoy any of jt. I had a really good first experience here with a pedicure. I've been to four other nail salons in the area and none of them would do callous removal. Recently, I got a gel French manicure and it looks like I did it myself. The lines are uneven. There's bubbling and places where the gel is higher and lower. He did not do any cuticle work and he did not ask me to wash my hands first. I also asked for a flower design twice and he did not understand me. Oh well. So I will say it depends on who your nail tech is. I will still go back for pedicures. This was easily the worst pedicure I have ever experienced. My mom and I went in last Saturday for pedicures and purchased the "firewalker" packages; for the price, the quality certainly does not match. I had booked appointments for us days in advance, and once we entered the salon it appeared that no one knew we had an appointment. The technician I had, had an attitude the entire time, the water was incredibly hot and was only turned down slightly. The technician was super rough and hurt my feet with the pumice stone. He cut my nails way too short and they are now hurting. He could not locate the gel color I had asked for and rolled his eyes when I was trying to find a new color. He missed many steps of the pedicure and he used a nail file to file off gel polish from the top of my foot (after letting it cure in the UV light). He then poured cold milk all over my legs, placed an incredibly hot towel on my feet that I had to remove for fear of burns, and then rubbed the milk into my legs with lotion. The pedicure was rushed, I was in literal pain the entire process, and was given an attitude from the moment I walked in. My mom wanted to say something at multiple points during this pedicure, but feared that it would make it worse. I have had many pedicures and I am never one to complain, but this was absolutely terrible. I would never recommend that someone comes here; it turned a fun day with my mom into pain and money wasted. read more

This was my first time trying Novel Nail Spa. I came for an 11:30am appointment for a gel manicure and pedicure. I waited 45 minutes until someone started with my pedicure. While I waited, about 6 more people showed up for 12:00pm appointments, and were not seated for close to 30 minutes as there were no available nail techs. My pedicure honestly turned out fine. She started on my manicure and I asked for an almond shaped manicure. The nail tech asked me what almond was, and I showed her a photo of the exact shape. She immediately started cutting my nails which lead to part of my thumb nail to look steep and shaved off. She cut all of my right side nails, but filed the left side, leading to an uneven shape between both hands. I asked her to file the left side down more because they were round. She started to file them. When I asked her to file them all little more, she handed me the file to do it myself. She seemed irritated with me, and there wasn't really anything I could ask for at this point to have them fixed because of how uneven the shape was. She also rushed cleaning my cuticles, which also lead to them looking uneven and unkept. Here are photos for reference. Very disappointed with the service and overall experience. I came in with my daughter and two granddaughters for pedicures. My daughter was helped first, but after that, the three of us were left waiting--then skipped entirely when a woman who arrived after us was taken ahead. The technician gave her far more time and care than she did with any of us. I was left mid-pedicure, and eventually with toenails unpainted, until I had to ask someone else to finish just so we could leave. The service for me and my granddaughters felt rushed and inconsistent. At the same time, another woman sat nearby watching her daughter and her daughter's friend receive full manicures and pedicures, while her own service was left halfway done without explanation--because the technician walked away to help me. I hadn't asked for the switch, and the whole thing felt awkward and disorganized. To make matters worse, another woman with a 3:00 appointment had been waiting over 40 minutes with her children without being helped. When she finally got up to leave, the man who seemed to be managing the salon said, "No, I'm done." She responded, "No, I've been waiting 40 minutes with my kids and I had an appointment." He immediately jumped up and ran over to help her--leaving my pedicure unfinished, skipping even the basic finishing touches like helping with my shoes or lifting the arm rests on the chair. I have maybe done one or two bad reviews in my whole lifetime. I went in on Sunday. I had an appointment but wasn't taken back for about 30 mins, I understand that it happens and I wasn't in a hurry. Once I was taken back, I sat there waiting some more. I actually stood up from the chair to leave because the man that took me back was barking at a customer how they didn't do dips and she had to come back (read Julia's review...she was kinder than she should be in it, the older woman with her was treated horribly! Of all techs there, at least one of them had to know how to do a dip manicure). Unfortunately I sat back down and proceeded to have the WORST gel manicure I've ever had. He was rough, didn't soak off old gel polish but instead ground my nails with the drill until they hurt. Did a mediocre job cleaning my cuticles and skin. Never had me wash my hands. Barely dusted them off and now Tuesday morning two of them have already started lifting and catching. I want to go back and have them redone but I also never want to step back in there. This place was not at all what I hoped for. Me and 4 of my family members went and the staff was very rude. The cut our toe nails so short they hurt, didn't cut our cuticle, and messed up the nail polish and refused to fix it. It was clear they were talking about us and kept giving us weird looks. We were very excited about this trip and took our 3 kids, extremely disappointed to say the list. While is was a beautiful building don't let that foul you. Then to top it all off they tried charging us 400$ which we knew was totally unreasonable and we argued them down to 250$. I've had way better pedicures else where for much cheaper. read more

So I had made an appointment for 1:15 and I wasn't seen until 2:00. Then the lady who started my nails filed them down too short and a new guy had to come and redo the nail(s) and he took over from there. The design wasn't exactly like I wanted but close enough I suppose. They also clipped my cuticle, and I started bleeding. Then a lady who was doing my design (I had 3 people who had worked on my nails at this point) was shaping my nails and cut too close as well. At the end of it all they only gave me 10% off (I got acrylic nails with a design) so it only came out to $68 (way way way too much). I called and made an appointment for 2 people. when we got there i told them we had an appointment for two services and they told us to sit and wait. I waited for 10-15 minutes and then they sat me down. the other person I was with sat and waited for another 15-20 minutes when they went over to her they told her she didn't have an appointment and they couldn't help her unless she came back 2 hours later or the next day. I made the appointment for the two of us together and they only helped me, so she had to sit down and wait for my service to be done.
