My go-to nail place, especially for gel nails. I feel like other salons use harsh methods for gel nail removal and application, but this place is so gentle! They soak my nails in acetone and then gently rub/scrape them off (the old way) instead of immediately using the little machine sander that's really harsh on my nails. Not to mention, everyone here is so incredibly nice. I love chatting with them when I come in, and the space itself has a really great, welcoming energy! The staff pays attention to me and welcomes me and/or checks in with me if they're running late ("we'll be with you in just a minute!") instead of telling me to sit down and wait, and then ignoring me. (They also offer complimentary water while you wait and/or during your service!) I can tell the other people who come here really enjoy it as well. The owner takes the time to find out your name, and they seem to have a good amount of repeat customers because he knows so many people by name! Also, their service is really quick. I've gotten a gel nail removal and then new set in 30 minutes before! I don't have to worry about long wait times or someone moving too slow. They're efficient and detail-oriented. I always know they'll do a great job. Can't recommend this place enough! So so happy to have nail salon I can go to repeatedly, knowing I'll have a great experience (and beautiful nails) every time. read more

my favorite place for nails I have found so far in town. they remember you every time you come in and the family that owns it is so friendly and easy going. i love chatting with them as i'm getting a pedicure. the owner is so damn hardworking, he is always going going going! the place is clean and sanitary, they have a huge selection of colors in both regular and gel, and they have little water bottles if you get thirsty. I have been 3 times now and have been so happy with my service here. the polish always lasts too, which is not the experience I have had elsewhere. I went here based on the reviews because they usually don't disappoint. However, wouldn't go back here for the following reasons 1. Poor customer service 2. My daughters nails started chipping the next day. 3. She said the quality of work and effort was lacking. 4. My biggest complaint...this is 2018 don't make customers feel bad about using a card to pay for services. Pushing customers to pay by cash makes you look like you're not reporting all of your earnings and having checks made out to the owner instead of the salon and not the business name seems shady. Nothing special about this place. Another customer had an appointment at 5:30pm which seemed to be a surprise to them. She has to tell them 4 times she had an appointment and what she was having done. read more

I was given a gift certificate for Star Nails and decided to have my 3rd ever pedicure there. I decided to use the certificate in February, so this review is late. I didn't think much about it at the time, but the softness of my feet didn't last long (they were scratching against my bedsheets that night) and the pedicurist cut my nails really low and dug under them (it hurt and I had to tell her not to dig so much), she cut my cuticles low, too, and I felt some pain. As this was only my 3rd pedicure I was still naive. Now, about 2 months later my nails are long enough to trim, but on my big toe the nail is becoming ingrown and painful. It's not infected, but when I try to exercise I can't put my toe on the floor. The polish looked nice, but I will never go there again because I just don't know if I ever want to have another pedicure, it's left such a bad impression on me. read more

I was in desperate need of a pedicure and the salon I normally visit was closed. I went to Star Nails 20 minutes before closing and asked if it was too late to get a pedicure. I was taken right away and the nail tech took her time and did a great job! She even asked if I wanted any decoration on my toes, which would have take MORE time and I'm sure she was ready to leave for the day. So I have been to this nail shop about 4 times for pedicures. The first 2 times I wasn't really impressed. BUT I realized it's not really the nail salon but the nail tech who performs the service that matters. SO, the 2nd two times I had Jenny. She is THE BEST! She is very thorough, she takes her time & does an EXCELLENT massage! (Not to mention she has a sweet personality.) My toes have looked great now both times with her. I have been going to Star Nails for a couple of years and they always do a fantastic job no matter who does my nails. I was nervous to go right now as we have been very strict about our quarantine, but was pleased when I went today that they have implemented every safety precaution to keep both their staff and customers healthy. They require masks, have shower curtains hanging at the pedicure stations, plexiglass at the manicure stations, social distancing, hand washing and staff are wearing masks and gloves.
