After visiting three other paint stores and not finding helpful advice or the right stain products I needed to get started, I was thrilled to find Rooster's Paint tucked away on 620. John was honest and helpful and set me up with some great products to stain and seal my front door. He also told me about a paint option, in case I didn't like the results. His advice was accurate and helpful, and not in the least condescending about my taking on a new (to me) and challenging project. While their prices are a little higher than the big box stores, the product quality and the expert advice makes it a worthwhile expenditure. They carry Old Masters stain, Benjamin Moore paints, and many other quality products in that small red building on 620. They aren't hawking a store brand, and these guys have experience using the products they carry. I took back almost everything I'd bought from other stores, and the results I got refinishing my front door prove that I made the right choice. Sanded, stained and sealed at a fraction of the cost of what a pro would charge, and contractors and neighbors keep telling me how great it looks. Will definitely be back when I get ready to tackle the cabinets and walls.

I've also frequented other Sherwin-Williams as well as Kelly Moore, Lowe's, Home Depot, etc., and no other place even comes close to how well I'm taken care of at this Sherwin-Williams. About a year ago I bought paint at the Location on 1431 and I asked them to match a paint chip. After driving all the way there, waiting with subpar customer service, driving all the way home, and putting the paint on the wall, I realize the paint doesn't match at all. Not even close. So I took the gallon of paint I just spent $40 on to this location expecting to have them rematch and she'll put another $40 but the manager not only remade it correctly but without charge. This is just one example of how truly amazing their customer service is at this location. Today I went in to buy a gallon of alabaster paint for the bathrooms at 6 o'clock and the same gentleman asked me if I was going to begin painting today, because tomorrow all paints are 40% off. I'm telling you right now if you don't shop at this Sherman Williams for your painting needs, you're just plain stupid.

I asked the manager about it as he was heading out, and his response was, "Everyone googles it and everyone knows we close at 6." Ah yes, everyone knows--thank you for clearing that up, Nostradamus of business hours. He proudly informed me they haven't closed at 7 "for years" and has absolutely no plans to update the listing. Stellar initiative! Customer service gold star right there. This happens to be the same manager who greets every question with a healthy dose of sarcasm and condescension. As someone who's spent thousands of dollars here, I foolishly thought a simple "Thanks, we'll look into it" wasn't too much to ask. But apparently, that's reserved for customers who don't use Yelp. I get that his job might feel like "watching paint dry," but at least pretend to care. I made the effort to write this review so others don't waste their time. Too bad the manager didn't make the effort to update a few digits on the internet or request for a change since it has been a few years--or show a splash of enthusiasm while the paint dries.

We had assumed that HIGH price= awesome service. Not the case here…read more There was confusion regarding the amount of rolls needed to install our project. Although they claimed to be very familiar with the paper manufacturer, they failed to warn me that the paper size on the link that I sent to them was an atypical size for Schumacher. Since I ended up ordering the paper at a slightly cheaper price elsewhere, and I did not note that there was a difference in the size, I ended up with not as much paper as they wanted me to have. Paper moon stuck by their assertion that I misunderstood their advice on how many rolls to purchase- although they graciously did not charge me to reschedule the install. The project ended up taking a while. And even though we generously stored their tools up against our home exterior for 2-3 days, had loads of wasted paper leftover, AND patched a couple of paint spots that got caught in the crossfire- we STILL got charged FULL PRICE. That said, the high price did ultimately result in good-looking wallpaper. Installer was likable, talented, and precise with the paper. And for that we are grateful.

I wanted to hire UB Kitchens as they seemed legit. They met with me about my kitchen gut/remodel…read morejob and gave me a quote of $25k. I really liked their customer service and the high quality of their cabinets. Unfortunately, as my house was getting close to completion, I flew in to meet in person to work on the kitchen project and they quoted me $66k now. I understand prices are increasing during the pandemic but not nearly triple. It looks like on top of the price increases, they may have counted the wrong number of cabinets needed for the project. I tried to work with them cause I wanted it to work out but ultimately, I would have had to make too many sacrifices to fit the budget such as not doing some upper cabinets and doing open shelving instead. In making these edits, they could get it down to $45k, still double the original quote and with too many sacrifices. If I calculate cabinets, counters, GC work, etc, the kitchen would be well over $100k. For that price, you should just go with a fully custom kitchen company. If I wasn't building a new house, building out a big pool and deck and all these other incredibly expensive projects, I would have liked to go with UB, but their pricing was more than I think I'd worth for semi custom
