So happy I live near a Home Depot. Several times I found myself coming here for one thing or another. Today I came for potting soil. My peace lily hasn't bloomed in a long time and my bestie Chat GPT said new potting soil and divide the plant in half would do the trick. So I'm praying this works and she starts blooming again. I was greeted when I walked in. I was also asked if I needed help. I sad I was coming here for potting soil. She said isle 57. I found what I was looking for. Since I was there I walked around to see what other plants and flowers they had. I love daffodils, but they did not look very good. I love Calla lilies and there were some really beautiful colors. Not only is it free, but they get to use actual tools to build real projects. My son recently turned 3 and we have made it our mission to go every single month. We are 4 months in, and he absolutely loves it. He gets to grab is orange apron each month and run out the door with excitement. He's been able to build different sports games, and even a bird feeder. A few tips: 1. Get their right at the start. By 9:30, this place is PACKED 2. I live literally around the corner from this location, so I can walk to it if need be. So far I've only ever gone for pest control stuff (and sometimes flowers), but never had an issue! The location is pretty big but generally I find it easy enough to find everything due to the simple layout. The employees are nice and the location is pretty chill overall. Never super overly busy. They have a self checkout which is pretty cool when I'm only going for one or two items. Also I love their holiday displays/decor! Even if I go for something else, sometimes I'll just spend a little time walking around their holiday display because it's so much fun to interact with everything. In terms of staff, they are friendly, but they are generally pretty kept to themselves unless you ask for assistance. All in all I enjoy this location, plus its proximity to me and will def be back. read more

This Home Depot is not good. I had booked to rent ramps for a pick up I had to do in Dallas. I had to ask for time off from my work and coordinate with others for this trip. It was something that was worked out weeks in advance. When I get to Home Depot to pick them up the whole system crashes and they can't do the rental. Hey, I get it, tech stuff happens, but what are my other options? So I ask for the manager because I don't know what Home Depot has as alternate options because I do not in fact work at Home Depot. Lance comes over and practically says he can't do anything. I say that since the failing is essentially on their end I need them to try to help me figure out a solution. Lance scoffs at this and says he doesn't have to. I would like to reiterate I don't work at Home Depot. I don't know if they sell the ramps there, if they have alternate solutions, or what the procedure for this kind of situation is, because I'm not a Home Depot employee. When I'm at my job I try to problem solve for clients at my job because I am the professional in that space. Well the older bald dude who was behind the counter starts shaking his head as if I'm asking something wild of them. Lance keeps giving a petulant attitude and eventually asks the employees if they even sell ramps. So I guess my question is if lances job is not to manage customer needs, or manage the inatimate objects in the store what is Lance doing? I left after realizing that I was asking someone to do the bare minimum of their job who clearly did not have the capacity to do so. A visit to any Home Depot is always a little exciting (new projects, finds, etc.) and dreaded (out of stock, no staff to be found); however, not at the 620N location. I've never had to spend 30+ minutes trying to track down someone for assistance. There's always help close by (despite shortages like most other retailers because of Covid). They make you set a service call on a brand new machine that is working as designed apparently. Just a piece of crap. LG says nothing is wrong. Home depot says I have to get a 2nd opinion from LG. It's not like I just want to return this pos washer. I STILL NEED GOOD AFFECTIVE LAUNDRY EQUIPMENT. I have video of my laundry with a safety pin in the middle of the load. I have been a loyal customer for over 30 years. I may never again shop at Home Depot because of the way I've been treated. On October 24, I ordered a GE Cafe dishwasher and included installation parts and services. I was charged immediately. 30 minutes before it was to be delivered and installed, a week later, I received a call telling me the appliance is "commercial" so it couldn't be installed. I was instructed to "contact Home Depot." Apparently the delivery and install services are a separate company. After hours on the phone, a resolution specialist, Sasha, rescheduled the delivery of the dishwasher for November 5 and refunded the installation services. She also advised me to use Home Depot pro services for the installation, which I did. On the 5th, for the second time, I cancelled all of my appointments and boarded my dogs so that I could accept the delivery. And I had pro service scheduled to install in the afternoon. As I saw the scheduling app get down to me being second in line, I received a call from the delivery service... in the end, they told me that they had my dishwasher but the order was marked "cancelled." So they refused to deliver it. I had to pay for the last minute cancellation of installation services. Again, through no fault of my own. Today (11/7/22) I have spent two more hours on the phone with Home Depot agents. And they tell me "The dishwasher is out of stock until 11/30/22, and we cannot refund your payment because the delivery agency hasn't cleared it." Home Depot has more than $1,300 of my money since the 24th of October, I am already out more than $200 for having to board my dogs and pay cancellation fees for install Services. Home Depot is keeping my money and can't give me the product. I clearly am not a valued customer to Home Depot. And I may never again be a customer. read more

Decided to take advantage of Labor Day sale and no interest financing because our refrigerator broke. The sales associate " ran my card " - even up sold us on protection plans. She gave us an install date and paperwork. However , when the date came and we heard nothing... we called. We were told we not in was in the system. Long story short - we had to re- buy this and set up yet another delivery. Promises of making it right and calling us back when trying to remedy the situation were all lip services. We have had so much food go bad while we waited because of the incompetemce of staff at this store. They had the nerve at one point to suggest it was my card or credit that was and issue. I called HD credit after that- then called back and let them know I had an 8k limit with a zero balance and was in good standing. Now some other excuses are coming about - saying we just got a " quote". A quote where they ran my card , gave us paperwork, and an install date ? Ok.... I wish they would just be truthful and take owneship and admit they messed up. Should have went to Best Buy or Lowes - you live and learn. I've always been loyal to Home Depot and enjoyed shopping there. Things changed dramatically in the last month. We were looking to replace the floor in our master bedroom and ordered laminate samples off of their website. Strike one was when the samples arrived in two different orders, both that included a 10% off your next flooring project coupon. The coupon said it could only be used at Home Depot.com. Home Depot.com would not take the coupon. I called and talked to their customer service rep and they told me the coupon was not showing up valid. I spoke with Ian in the flooring department and he was extremely helpful and did his best to investigate. He tried to place the order in the store and could not get the coupon to work either. After nearly two weeks of trying to get an answer from superviosors, the store finally discounted the product in store. Strike two was that the laminate we settled on did not have a trim or anything associated with it in the Home Depot system, even though the button on the website says don't forget the trim and to click on the link that would take you to trim. Matching a trim online with pictures is a ridiculous way to have a custom shop. Store supplies were limited to only a few shades. This started the show how incomplete their website and back end systems are. Strike three was when the order was finally placed they attempted to fill some of it within store stock. They eventually realized that they did not have the inventory to fill the entire order so they canceled the in-store stock option and ordered the quantity needed, to be shipped to the store. The problem comes when they credited the product at the discount price, but then billed the replacement at the full price. Strike four came when I tried to return some of the unused products for the project. When we realized that the replacement product had been billed at full price by the person that handles special billing in the store, I commented that they hadn't done a very special job. Jim Knight the customer service person immediately told me he thought I was being rude and that it was only a dollar difference per item. Was Jim going to take the money out of his pocket to make up the difference if the mistake hadn't been caught? Does Jim feel entitled to tell me how to spend and manage my money? Does Jim think mentioning their mistakes after everything else they had messed up was inappropriate? His being offended was offensive. The victim card wasn't the way to go after everything Home Depot had failed to do up to that point. I understand we have a horrible economy right now and that it's hard to get people to actually work but, Home Depot should be better than this across the board. Very disappointed in Home Depot. This will be the last time I shop for major appliances through them. We ordered a matching set for an GE oven, dishwasher, fridge and microwave through Home Depot. When it was delivered they brought the wrong oven and the fridge was dented. When we called about the oven they said it was on back order and couldn't get it out for 2 months. The 2nd fridge they sent was also dented, as was the 3rd. When the fourth fridge arrived, not only was there a major dent on the side, the inside shelf's were broken and had punctured a hole in the back wall. Because I was sick & tired of dealing with it, I asked them to just switch out the doors. As the delivery guy was cutting off the plastic, he scratched the freezer door & tried to hide it. At this point, I'm ridiculously over it so I am keeping the scratched door (at no discounted price). I am extremely disappointed and will not be using Home Depot for any future purchases. read more

I ordered three toilets for store-pick at this store. Then, I got a store message stating that 2 of 3 were broken and I did not bother to pick the 3rd one since I thought it would be canceled eventually. However, later on, I found that the order was only canceled partially, the 3rd toilet was marked as picked up in my HD online account, and the charges for the 3rd toilet were never refunded to my credit card. I called the store multiple times and finally, I was told I would get a full refund. But it is without any apology and with some hints that I got a free toilet. read more

There are amazing interactions we have on a daily basis and the employee and their manager may not know how awesome the employee was the customer and how they made a difference in their day & life. So here goes. Background story, getting ready for a big party been visiting HD for several weeks now almost everyday getting something, returning buying more stuff. Today I needed some more paint and found a young guy named Connor in the isle. I explained my project and he literally spent almost 30 minutes with me!!!! He NEVER made me feel rushed or he needed to get back to work or had something other to do than help me. He was very experienced with paint and the effects and what you should and should NOT use for projects. I happened to have a photo of my project and showed him he the kind of color I was looking for and he went directly to a paint that purchased and used today. It color is AmAzing!!! I would have never picked this color out as I was going for a matte look, I'm so happy happy that I let him assist me on this project. I have always been timid asking for help in those places, because the last time I asked for assistance cutting trim board, the guy said Glenn could help me, he kept talking to me rude & ugly...I was trying to be so nice, He was hand sawing my board and cutting it all up ugly. I thought they used electric saws there. Now I have to find someone to help me smooth the edges, the reason I needed someone to assist. I even called the store and they told me anyone would be glad to assist in cutting the boards for me. Simple answer; the folks at Home Depot are universally nice, know their stuff, and always go out of their way to help. I was there to buy a lawnmower, and Jeff went above and beyond to track down a lift to bring the lawnmower down from the top shelf and get me out the door as fast as he could. I have used this Home Depot for years. In November I purchased a washer/dryer set with delivery for early December. Because HD is an order taker they don't manage anything. They place the order on the manufacturer whirlpool and then use GE appliance (GEA) to manage the order and work with the delivery agent (Depar in this case). GEA messed up every component of the logistics on the order. This was for a home in another town. Two missed deliveries, costing me time and money and me having to get in the middle of Depar, GEA, whirlpool. I engaged HD to explain to them the situation that caused. They proceeded to make calls to tell me what I already knew. After 6 weeks I finally received the units getting a call at 7pm the night before telling me the units would arrive the next morning early (at the house two hours away). I explained to HD they had cost me a great deal of time and money to order an appliance from them. These are standard appliances that normally should take 1-2 days locally. I challenged them as to why would anyone ever buy an appliance from them since their process was so bad and cost the customer time and money. I repeatedly asked the customer service rep to escalate the issue to the store manager. It has been 3 weeks with no response. In the interim I order a refrigerator from another outlet. It was delivered on time with correct communications. Home Depot's process for appliances is just bad and setup for failure. Go to Costco, Best Buy or anywhere else. The service at this Home Depot is stellar. Every time I visit, in the midst of my wanderings through the store, multiple friendly employees ask if I'm finding everything I need, ask if they can help, or at least smile and say hello. When I've actually needed help, they'll stop and help me find what I need or solve my problem. Lots of friendly and knowledgeable folks work here. The outdoor garden area has improved in selection and in care of their plants, so I've managed to find some good landscape plants here. The vegetable garden section is good as well, though sometimes lacking in variety. If you need help loading heavy stuff outdoors, you might have to ask and wait for someone, but they'll do it. One thing I love about this store is that it's well organized, which makes it easier to find things I need. I've visited a few other HDs lately, and they made this one look even better. They may have less inventory than some other stores, but at least it's clean and well-displayed. Only grandpa really knows what's in his garage and where to find it, right? The customer service I experienced at this store was some of the best ever. I called to inquire about new appliances for my new new home and had pretty specific preferences and a set budget. Julie in the appliances section found several options and packages, even working past store hours to find exactly what I needed. She also told me about their current financing promotions, which would be expiring soon, and encouraged me to visit the store as soon as I could. I visited the store the next day and met with Judy (since Julie was out), and she processed my application for a Home Depot card with their 24 months interest free promo. Then I worked with Dan to go over and check out the appliances Julie had researched for me the day before. I came away with a great new fridge, stove range, dishwasher, and range hood for a great price, with installation and haul away scheduled for a day that fits my schedule. I bought a wall oven 4 weeks before Thanksgiving in the hopes that I would have an oven for Thanksgiving. The sales person said the oven would be delivered on Nov 23rd. She also said that they would send someone to measure the oven before delivery which they did a week before. They delivered the oven on the 23rd and just dropped it in the middle of my kitchen. I was under the impression that it would be installed that same day but the delivery guys said they just deliver. I called Home Depot about the installation and then they tell me that I had to pay for the installation first before they could "schedule the installation". I immediately paid for the installation which they don't take when you purchase the appliance for whatever dumb reason! I called the subcontractor they use to install the appliance and they told me that their next available appointment was Nov 30th! I talked to the sales person and asked her to please find someone local to install my oven before Thanksgiving. She found a local subcontractor (GS Merritt LLC) and told me I would have to pay them directly. Of course I ended up paying a lot more for the installation than Home Depot but they came and installed my oven the next day so I had an oven installed for Thanksgiving. Be careful buying anything from this Home Depot online. Updated quantities will be off and "out of their control because we only have 27 employees" according to Jeff the service supervisor. If I was taking about hardware or something really small I could understand that response, but we are talking about a power drill...how do you not keep track of something that costs more than $75? They are quick to take your money, but if the item that says "in stock" online is out of stock, instead of talking to you first and trying to help you source your product they immediately initiate a 5-7 business day refund. So if you are a student and a 1099 like myself and need the product that you ordered the day you ordered it you might get a response like the one I got. Something along the lines of "this is our standard procedure (not my problem)" and then try to money shame me and talk about my business for not being able to afford another one before my refund comes back. Rented a steam cleaner that was supposed to clean tile and grout. Worst contraption My girlfriend and I have ever used. Didn't work at all and now we still have to hire a professional to come do it properly. The manager at Home Depot was worse than useless. Refused to refund or even partially refund and told us we should have brought it back immediately if we were unhappy with it. Unfortunately it takes an hour or so to realize there is just no way to do a professional job with it. I can't drop everything else and drive across town to get my $70 back - I had to wait until everything else is done and drop it across town on my way home. Can ANYONE answer questions about neonicotinoids in their plants (both flowering and non-flowering?? I ONLY wanted to know about labeling since they are supposedly 80% free now and will be 100% free by 2018. The only person who offered any help didn't work in the nursery and wanted me to walk around and point out each plant so he could answer my question then had to admit he didn't know what I was talking about (which means he couldn't have known on a plant by plant basis). He was friendly so I'll definitely give him props for that. I was in the air national guard almost six years. Home depot will not accept my DD214, or my Texas Drivers License with documented military service as proof that I was military. It says my information is outdated, does not match the status I entered on my verification form, or unacceptable as proof of military service. I've tried several times each with a different excuse for not accepting me. It is apparent to me home depot is placing obstacles in customer's path just to frustrate its past military customers so they can not get the discount home depot claims to offer. Placed an online order, due to being in a rush, all items were in stock at quantities above 10ea. I checked my email and two items were being shipped to my home even though they were showing "in stock" so I go to the items on the shelf and yes, they had everything in stock. So I select the items and take them up front, the cashier says they can't do anything about it and that I will have to pay for everything again and wait to get a refund, when the order comes in, so I asked him to call his manager and let them know I would like to discuss the issue, the manager just tells him there is nothing they can do. Last month I tried to find a way to cut slots in metal lids on my own with no luck. I am the co-captain of a charity fundraiser and we needed donation buckets made but didn't have the right tools to safely get the task done. I called the Pro Desk at the Home Depot at 7900 North FM 620 in Austin (the Four Points location) and spoke with Mike. Mike was very nice and just said to bring the pails in and he would take a look to see if they could cut the lids for me. First, the negative. This Home Depot is a bit complicated to navigate. Various items are all over the place and often in places where you wouldn't look. (The lids for the Homer buckets are in the paint department, but the buckets are on display all over the store.) But why I love this Home Depot is simple. A simple, unassuming fellow named John. My friends and I came in with a list of random items that we needed to restock our fire station. Not only did John know where every item was, he insisted on taking us to each item and helping ensure that we got exactly what we needed, even getting one item down from a high shelf for us. I'd chalk it up to one great employee, but the greeter at the door as well as the cashiers seemed to be this pleasant and helpful as well. Please, clone this location. read more
