    California Club Sandwich
    Timmy S.

Located inside the Cerritos Sheraton Hotel, this small "restaurant" offers a small menu of pedestrian fare for lunch. I attempted to come here for dinner in the past only to find out they only serve a breakfast buffet and lunch. This is wise of them as there are a dozen chain restaurants nearby that serve better food than here at more reasonable prices. Just past the main entrance in the interior of the Sheraton you'll see a small "Grille 91" sign next to a small banquet room with minimal decor. I came for lunch and, as stated on a sign at the door, seated myself. My first choice for a table was covered in salt (both table and chair) so I chose another one. I quickly noticed my place setting only had a spoon. Looking at the other tables nearby I realized the settings on each table were bizarrely missing utensils - one had only a fork, another a knife and spoon and another had nothing at all. After ordering I grabbed a fork and knife from another table. I ordered a club sandwich and iced tea. The sandwich came out within 5 minutes and it was served on ordinary toasted bread cut into four sections. The deli turkey, bacon, tomato and lettuce - even the limited amount of avocado - were fresh. I was glad they were gentle with the mayo. The fruit provided as a side (mostly melon and pineapple) was also fresh. But this triple decker sandwich was stacked too high - I couldn't take a bite. I opened my mouth so wide I thought my jaw was going to pop. I tried squishing it down as much as I could. Impossible. So I had to deconstruct it in order to eat it. I prefer to just sit, eat and enjoy a sandwich rather than struggle with it and try to figure out how to eat it like some sort of puzzle. Having to take it apart made it messy and a genuine pain in the backside to eat. It was a decent sandwich but a bit bland and certainly nothing out of the ordinary...except for the price. You'd expect to pay more at a hotel restaurant and this was no exception. Club sandwich and iced tea with standard tip was over $20. Service was friendly and attentive. There was only one guy on staff but he adequately handled the four occupied tables with ease. I won't be coming back but if I were staying at the hotel I might try the breakfast buffet. Lunch and dinner would be better in all respects at any of the restaurants in the surrounding area.

    Chicken Nachos. BEST EVER!!!!

It's not ON the menu anymore, but the nachos are the friggin BOMB! LITERALLY the only reason I went here was for those. I ask for them even though they don't serve it anymore. Please bring back the nachos. They are the BEST.

We get to dine here because the hotel offered us breakfast coupon for being SPG gold member (also platinum member too). Otherwise the breakfast buffet would cost $17 per person plus tax which is pretty steep for traditional continental breakfast (scramble eggs, sausage, bacon, potato, french toasts were empty, lots of fruits, oatmeal. The waiter would come by and ask you for the drink (coffee, tea, OJ, etc).

    Yum!

Location. Location. Location. I keep coming back here because it a skip away from work and they make starbucks drinks. Granted there is an actual Starbucks but I would rather come here when it's across a small parking lot vs across the street. The worker there is friendly and for the most part they are pretty quick with service. They also sell food and pastries that are ok, nothing special.

She greeted us with such a warm smile and positive energy that immediately made us feel welcome. Throughout our meal, she was attentive, communicative, and genuinely friendly without ever making us feel rushed. Char checked in on us at all the right times, made sure our drinks were always full, answered all of our questions with patience, and gave great recommendations. You could tell she really knew the menu and wanted us to have the best experience possible. Her attention to detail didn't go unnoticed, and she handled everything with such professionalism while still being personable and fun. What really stood out was how much she contributed to the overall atmosphere. She brought such great energy to our table that it genuinely made the entire dining experience more enjoyable. It's rare to come across someone who not only provides outstanding service but also creates such a welcoming and upbeat vibe. She made us feel like valued guests rather than just another table. If you're lucky enough to have Char as your server at Chubby Cattle, you're in for an amazing experience. She goes above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect, and her kindness, communication, and positive attitude truly set her apart. Employees like Char are a huge reason people come back. A Beautiful Lobster Cobb Salad -- Just Change the Dressing!…read more I went to one of my favorite local fish restaurants today, The Fish Company in Los Alamitos, and in particular, their offshoot restaurant, Off the Hook. I ordered their newly developed Lobster Cobb Salad, and I have to say--the presentation was amazing! As you can see from the photos, the salad is beautiful, plentiful, and loaded with lobster, bacon, and avocado. There is definitely no shortage of the good stuff, and I really enjoyed the salad itself. There was just one issue, and unfortunately, it was a pretty big one: the salad dressing. In all my years of eating at restaurants, I honestly don't think I've ever tasted a more bland and boring salad dressing. The dressing they serve with this salad completely lacks flavor and, in my opinion, takes away from what could otherwise be an outstanding dish. So, if you decide to try the Lobster Cobb Salad, here's my advice: ask about the dressing and order something with some flavor! Whether it's ranch, blue cheese, or your own favorite dressing, I strongly recommend switching it up. Don't let the standard dressing keep you from enjoying what is otherwise a fantastic salad. The good news is, I'll absolutely be back. I really love this new Lobster Cobb Salad, and I'll definitely order it again. The only difference next time is that I'm changing the dressing to something that actually has some flavor!

It's my go to seafood restaurant in Gardena, I'm glad I found this location in cypress. Everything was soo delicious and worth the price! The ambiance is casual and plenty of seatings! This location is huge! They have cute beach vibes inside! Good for any type of parties or celebrations. Service is amazing! Everyone was friendly. The server Sheena was very nice, helpful and recommended us the best deals! We came in an hour before they close and really appreciate her taking care of us! Crab shack is my favorite place and my go to if I'm craving seafood boil! Their crab shack style sauce is super delicious! I got mild because it can get really spicy. The flavors are definitely hitting! The portion is definitely good for sharing! I love the appetizer and other main dishes. Soo many options to choose from you definitely won't get bored! The clam chowder , fried oysters with fries and garlic noodles definitely complimented well with the 3lbs shrimp we got! I also got pina colada to balance the taste and it's very refreshing! We definitely left feeling full, satisfied and happy! I will definitely comeback to this place and recommend this to my friends and family!

We got the combo #2 which came with your choice of head on shrimp, clams and crab (snow crab). We got the crab shack house sauce with medium spicy. All this seafood is steamed in a bag, comes with corn, potatoes and sausage pieces. Everything was quite tasty. The fries are crispy and had a generous cheese sprinkle of Parmesan. Sweet potato fries also taste great. Be prepared to dig in with bare hands - they do provide thin gloves and disposable bibs. I got steamed rice but maybe didn't need it. The one pound peeled shrimp in garlic butter no spice was quite tasty. The three servers were completely slammed. But they did keep things running well- between taking orders to each table, & serving refills , bussing tables and closing out bills. Communal sink for washing. I think part of etiquette is to NOT rinse out your mouth here. It's used by everyone after all. I do wish the floor was was in better condition - it's a bit rough uneven and slippery.

The sauce in the bag felt a bit... watered down like it went for a swim before meeting the seafood. For a party of four, we ordered: SHRIMP LOVER COMBO, LOBSTER ROLL, SIDE OF RICE, BASKET OF SEASONED FRIES, AND MAD DOG XXX SAUCE on the side. Portion-wise, we left comfortably full and only slightly questioning our life choices. The Shrimp Lover Combo can't be modified. We chose Stinkin' Special and Spicy, which came with a plastic glove so you can dig in like a civilized gremlin. The Stinkin' Special was a generous blasts of Old Bay and enough garlic to ward off vampires. The Mad Dog sauce wasn't shock-your-soul spicy, but it definitely lingered. I was still feeling its friendly burn hours later and well into the evening. The LOBSTER ROLLL was tasty but fleeting. It's one of those dishes that makes you realize the meal is almost over right when you're hitting peak satisfaction. A little emotional damage there. We wrapped it all up with deep-fried Oreos and ice cream, which was an instant win. Sweet, cooling relief after all that heat. Overall, the service was slightly slow but still tolerable. We ordered the shrimp, sausage, mussels, Cajun fries, and wings. Pro tip: ask for gloves, since they don't provide them initially. The sauce was flavorful, but unfortunately, the shrimp didn't seem as fresh as I would have liked. When peeling the shells, they weren't coming off easily, and the meat was slightly soft, which can be a sign that the shrimp wasn't at its freshest. Overall, this is a very solid spot that has everything you need when you're craving Cajun-style shrimp. It's a great place to satisfy that craving without having to deal with as much of a crowd. That said, while the overall experience was good, the quality of the seafood was slightly lacking.
