one Thing is I absolutely LOVE to support small places like these. But this time I will never go back to support this place. I am an addict of dunkin Donuts iced coffee. My mother invited me here and I was on my way with my Dunkin in hands half way. I entered this place and got one lil small drink that's half way done they told me either throw out the drink or I have to leave! Really?!? I spend 100s of dollars here in this place and for one drink that's half way (I did not want to leave it in my car because ice will melt) and always give a GREATTT TIP. We set out on our journey for the day seeking a place to please our palates and let me tell you something, young lads and lasses, this place did that plus some. The price was a sight for sore eyes after our bill at dinner last night, and the food was a delight to our bellies. The omelettes are as fluffy as a cloud and the home fries were better than any other I've had before. The wait staff is so pleasant and very helpful! Ok this is good place and I have given them 5 stars in the past. But they are slipping a bit since they got a New owner the quality is a bit lower. The home fries are deep fried and dry instead of fried on the grill . But maybe it's a transition thing only time will tell. And the hash browns were a bit over done and greasy. But they did make it right by bringing some more that was done perfectly. It still is a nice place for breakfast. Prices are reasonable. read more

Best mom and pop shop in town! And they have mimosas and bloody Mary's! The food is so yummy and the owner oftentimes comes out to check on you after you get your food. It always gives me a warm, cozy feeling after eating here! I highly suggest this place! read more

Had the liver and onions with bacon and black eyed peas. DELICIOUS!! Fork tender. HUGE portion!! Wife had meatloaf, black eyed peas, cornbread and fries with brown gravy. She loved it. Found this place on accident. Was close after we attended an event. We were hesitant when we saw the outside of the building and area. But inside. Cute! The waitress was quick and friendly. The food was amazing! I had roast beef with gravy. Real mashed potatoes. And yummy black eyed peas. Cornbread from scratch. My friend isn't eating carbs. And low and behold. A low carb dinner! We looked for diners in Melbourne. Sheps Diner was one of the first ones to come up on the list. We were a little skeptical because it's in a not-so-nice area of town. You get a lot of food for what you order. The food comes out very quick, too. It was delicious and filling. Our waitress was Nancy. She was very sweet and attentive. My first time being here. My friend and I met for breakfast this morning. Lovely place, clean and we were greeted as soon as we walked in. I seated myself and our server was prompt and very friendly. She let me know right away that they were out of hash browns and that was ok. It happens! She took my drink order which I had hot tea. It was served almost immediately. When my friend arrived she too was served coffee quickly. We placed our orders and it took just a few minutes for our food to arrive, fresh, hot and plentiful. It was all very good! The owner, David, came over and checked that we were doing well. Sheps is a diner like I used to find while traveling. Good food, good service and good prices. Our first Shep's dinner venture - a cold breeze filled in about 5:00. An old fashion local diner was the perfect Friday night choice. Everything is homemade & brimming with flavor. My husband had the fish fry & couldn't be more pleased. It was a huge filler, with a crispy light batter coating - fried to perfection. I couldn't resist the Sausage & Lentil soup - it was more like a stew; spicy & delicious (I put some of my husbands black eyed peas in it for fun). A ton of food for two for $12.48. After reading such a great article, in the Florida Today Newspaper, on Shep's Diner we encouraged our group of bowling friends to try it out. What a mistake that was. We waited a long time for our orders. I ordered a cheese mushroom hamburger cooked medium rare...it was well done and dry and wishing I could see the mushrooms. Waitress kept calling it a cheese burger and I guess she was right, but she did bring me more very greasy mushrooms after I had my hamburger half eaten. My husband's hamburger was tough...yep tough. How do you make a tough hamburger unless it was reheated in the microwave to long. Another order of fried clam strips was rubbery. Someone else's order of hash browns was so greasy they could not eat them. AND then we waited and waited for our checks. Bad service...bad food..we will not be going there again. read more
