I made a reservation for 6 at 1:30 pm on Mother's Day. When we arrived, we waited 10 -15 minutes in the host line before we were greeted. This, coupled with the fact there were lots of empty tables that had not been bussed, let me know that the restaurant was not equipped to handle the volume of customers and was in the weeds. When we told the host we were a party of 6 with a reservation, he seemed surprised and distraught - immediately leaving to bus one of the tables. A quality restaurant would have expected us and had our table prepared prior to our arrival. Multiple people in our party mentioned the host's frantic demeanor. I don't blame him - it was clear the restaurant was overwhelmed, despite so many empty tables. Was the kitchen backed up? We were sat at the table and the server was very pleasant - a very nice woman. She brought out the water - tap water which smelled and tasted a little funny. I would have expected filtered or bottled water, especially when the tap water quality was poor. At this point, given the above, we decided to leave. If the experience up to this point was not up to par, we didn't want to take our chances. We've seen too many Kitchen Nightmares episodes to take the risk. Chaos in the front of house is normally correlated to chaos in the back. Hopefully the restaurant takes our constructive criticisms to heart and tries to make some improvements. The buck starts with the management.

It feels like one of those diners were everyone is a regular. They have tables and chairs and it's a little crowded. They also have some bar seating. Service: you seat yourself. No one acknowledged me when I came in, so I found a waitress and asked if I just seat myself, and she said yes. A waitress come over soon after and took our order. Service was good and food came out quick. Food: I wanted to order many things from the menu. But I settled on Catfish with grits and hashbrowns. It's was ok. It kind of had an unusual batter for catfish but it was fine, but the fish was brined tasting. Definitely needs a buttermilk soak. Grits were good but a little runny for my taste... and hashbrowns were kind of bland and not as crispy as I like. So basically, everything else's good, but not amazing. My friend had meatloaf and made a big mixed pile on his plate (sorry I didn't get photo before his creation). Overall: I will be back... I think they have something I haven't found yet that is amazing. I want to try their burger and chicken friend steak when I go back.

I ordered the Chorizo Bowl, and it did not disappoint! The portion was generous, everything tasted fresh, and it was packed with flavor. And you HAVE to try the mimosas! They're made with freshly squeezed juice, and my Piña Colada Mimosa was absolutely delicious. The best part? My bowl and mimosa were only around $25, which I thought was a great value. I came with my girlfriends, and everyone enjoyed their food and mimosas. It was the perfect spot for a fun girls' brunch! ‍ Definitely adding this place to my brunch rotation. So I guess I'll just chalk it up to being a local favorite? The last time I went there, we got the blueberry French toast, which wasn't actually French toast... It literally was like a blueberry muffin with blueberry compote and whipped cream. I mean it did say it was blueberry bread, but why would it be under the French toast section? It wasn't even toasted like French toast. No cinnamon, no egg, etc. The first time we went there we got the avocado toast, which was also a huge miss. The whole dish just tasted old. My friend got the chorizo eggs Benedict, which also was not that good. My other friend got the chicken and waffles but again it was just very average. From what I'm told though, the chicken is fried in beef tallow which is a huge plus! Another thing that was a disappointment was the "fresh squeezed, orange juice". I saw they had a juicer in there so when I double checked with the waitress, if it was truly fresh squeezed, I felt confident in the order. However, once it arrived to the table, it looked and tasted like straight concentrate. Then later, I saw a waitress pouring orange juice out of a plastic gallon lol. I'm not trying to completely rag on this place, I'm sure it has a local charm that keeps people coming back. But if you're not from the area and you're looking for a good breakfast spot, this is not a place I would recommend. Staff is always great though!
