I bought a used car. I wanted to smog it and I saw they ad smog check $34.99 + $8 dollar for certificate and I want to the station. I agreed by Mike and I told him I bought this car. I want to smog it. He took me to office and got all information and give to the technician after 20 minute later technician come back and he said your car didn't pass the test . my car have only 42,000 miles .and he asked me to did you change the battery I said no I didn't change the battery. I drove my car for almost 3 hours he said go drive in the freeway and come back. I'm gonna smog it again. I asked him the retest is gonna be free because if didn't pass-smog check most up smart check garage when you fix the problem they will retest it for free .go to smog check store the retest it's free when you but not in Mike, garage . and he become rude and he said show me where they can do it for free. I can send my customer . Then I come home. I have an ad bring it back to the store, but unfortunately, he was not there and I told the other mechanic see this is the smog station. They will retest for free .so basically Mike ripping up customer, I don't recommend it to anyone to do the service his prices, high and Services is poor business? read more

I don't understand these negative comments concerning mike. I've been going to him for years, he is the most honest person I know. When's the last time you went to a mechanic and asked him to check all of your fluids , and when you asked him if you needed your coolant changed, he said not yet. By the looks of the previous reviews I doubt this one will even matter but I guess I took time to record my experience so just for future customers beware of the service at this location I only had the pleasure of dealing with the infamous Fabian so I can't really say much about the rest , but the fact that there is more than one complaint on here about him says a lot about how this business is being ran. Just to make it quick I approached Fabian to approve my payment on his side of the register and I guess he was upset that I asked him through the window and not inside the store. Whomever is the manager who hired this guy to man the cashier must be special too for having Fabian work the cashier with only large bills (this is what Fabian said as he has no change for $1,$5,10$, $20). Theres a chevron 1/4 mile away.. they sell gas with a pleasant customer service. Time of Event: 1/20/2021: 6:30AM. Name of employee: unknown. I drove up to the gas station to refill my car. No was on manning the cashier. The system took my Fuel Reward discount and took my credit card information and yet it was not fueling. I waited there for a few minutes and a guy finally showed up at the cashier. I asked him to check out what's happening and he told me the system is down. I told him if that's the case he should have put a sign up at the entrance, which wasted my $0.15/gal discount. He showed me a receipt side of note taped on the cashier window "system down". This is ridiculous. I asked him to come out and put the orange cones laying next to the door to block the entrance for the next customer at least. He refused and walked away from the cashier station. Wow! Sure thing, as I was getting ready to drive off the gas station, the next car pulled in. I stopped by the car and told the guy the system is not working and sure thing he had the same reaction as I did. 3 minutes later, I got an e-receipt from Shell charging me $95 for 0 gallons fueled up. Got a nail stuck in our tire and needed it patched this week. Read the Yelp reviews and went to this Shell station on Trabuco - and boy am I glad we did! Went right when they opened at 8:00 A.M. and by a little after 8:30 A.M. we were gone with a fixed tire and a reasonable $20 expense as others had reported. Avoid this gas station at all costs. Go to the one on Jamboree Blvd if you must and a Fuel Rewards or Ralphs member or to the Chevron on Culver. While I was filling up and getting a full tank of gas, I washed the windshield windows and used paper towels to dry them off. Due to the fires, there's been a lot of ashes, so I just reused the paper towels to wipe the dust off my side windows as well. The mexican cashier lady comes out from the attendant station yelling and screaming at me. I couldn't understand what she was saying, but I finally get that she was "watching" me and "sees" me. I love shell gas stations but this one in particular I found is the most expensive!! Located right next to the on/off ramp for 5 fwy culver exit, maybe it's the ease of access that jacks up the price. :( Last time I drove by on 4/18/11, gas for 87 was @ $4.28, 89 @ $4.38, and 91 @ $4.48. I know with all the economic turmoil and gas prices are increasing steadily, but Geeze!... I utilize my social ralphs rewards discount at $0.10/ a gallon... And it'd still be much better to get in line at Costco or pay cash at Arco up the street on Jeffrey. Well, I'm off to filling up my tank at the other Shell stations (regular is usually at or around $4.19/gallon @ main and harvard station in Irvine, or jeronimo and Los alisos in Mission Viejo.) Yes, it's a drive from where I live (Jeffrey/Trabuco) but it weighs less on my conscious knowing I'm not shelling out (no pun intended) at that high a price. Just off the 5 and Culver, this station is very convenient for those driving on the 5 north, and a little trickier to find if you are driving on the 5 south. All the cars are supposed to be facing one way at the pump, so getting in and out can be a squeeze when it gets busy and at times you have to wait for others to fill up before you can move forward. The prices are on par with other places in the neighborhood - usually a little cheaper than Chevron on Culver & Irvine Blvd., and a little more expensive than Chevron on Culver & Walnut. They sell propane (they'll fill your tank or sell you a new one) for you grill (pay inside and they'll fill you up outside). They also sell snacks and necessities inside, but it's not an actual Kwik-E-Mart (head to Chevron at Culver & Irvine Blvd. for that). read more

They charged me extra $99.00 twice! I put my credit card inside the gas machine and it didn't work (no gas received from machine). Then I put my other credit card and purchased $30.00 worth of gas (received from the machine) and left. Nobody used the machine between my first credit card entry and the last accepted one. Then I realised I had 2 $99.00 payments (15 seconds apart from each) in my credit card statement. I returned back immediately and explained them the situation. They told me it happens from time to time but it will be refunded in 24 hours. It is 3 day now and it is not reverted back. I went there again and told them I want my money back. And again they told me I should come an other time about 6AM and talk with their manager. I am calling my bank to report this scam right now and cancel the transaction. Just tried to get gas at this station and the cashier simply typed in the wrong pump and my gas never came out. Once I complained about the gas he said we told him the wrong pump...which clearly was a lie. He said someone else pumped our gas and he repeated many times that's not his problem anymore. Once the police was called, he decide to call his manager Anna, that finally ordered him to give our money back and that they are privately owned and we were not welcome at that station anymore! Walter in the service department was a pleasure to deal with. After walking out the door of Auto Check Center I brought my car here to get a smog service. He said he fit me in quickly and he did. Filing out the paperwork took longer than the actual smog check, which took 8-10 minutes. Both Walter and the people behind the counter were very friendly though. I'll keep bringing my vehicles here for smog checks just because of the service. If they could take another $10 off the cost ($59.99 + $8.25 certificate) then they would get 5 stars. read more

After purchasing $30 in gas, I asked for the restroom key, to which she replied, "I think someone's in there." So I stood in front of the bathroom. After 10 mins, I asked the guy in the little office if he had a key. He walked back into the cashier's are and grabbed the key.
