So it was the DAY before Thanksgiving a few years ago, which also happened to be the DAY before I got paint and the DAY AFTER I paid our rent when my husband and I ran out of cigarettes. Lol. I said, "You know what? I have EXACTLY enough money in my account to buy a pack of cigarettes! I'll be right back!" And I ran across the street. They had JUST hired this kid, Angelo, and for SOME reason, they thought it would be a GREAT idea to leave him running the place ALONE for the night on his FIRST week working!!! So anyway, I went in, asked him for my pack of cigarettes, he rang it up, and I paid for it. I went to go get the cigarettes when he said, "It didn't go through." I looked on my phone and showed him my bank account, that it said, "Purchase at Chevron" at our location on that date at the EXACT minute! He said, "Well it didn't go through on my end." I said, "It HAD to have! Look! It charged my account!" And he said, "No, it didn't." I said, "Ok, can you please call you manager, or someone else who has worked here longer than a week and ask them because I KNOW it went through. It charged my account already, so I already paid for it! You owe me a pack of cigarettes! That was LITERALLY ALL the money that I had in my account!" He said, "No, I'm not calling my manager. It's not MY fault you can't afford them." WHAT?!?! He OBVIOUSLY just didn't want to call them because it was his VERY first night running the store alone and he didn't want to look like an idiot, not knowing how to do something. So I called my husband and told him what was going on and he came over and started getting REALLY pissed. As was I, he could have VERY easily Solved this situation by calling his manager real quick. But god forbid he look dumb. So no no no! He wasn't going to be a mature adult and do that! Absolutely not! So he said, "You guys need to leave or I'm calling the police." Lol!!!! I said, "YOU stole from ME!!! I should call the police on YOU!" So that's EXACTLY what I did! Of COURSE they were SUPER busy that night though, so it took them FOREVER to get there. It was late and we had our daughter with us, so I was holding her, rocking her to sleep outside, waiting for the police to get there, when these two kind men came up and asked if we were ok. We explained what happen and that we were just waiting for the police to show up. They walked inside and asked the kid to sell them the pack of cigarettes that we were trying to buy. Then they came out and handed us the cigarettes. They were like, "Here! Happy Thanksgiving!" I was like, "Oh my god! Are you sure?!?! Let me pay you back tomorrow after I get paid! Please!" And they were like, "No! Take it! Happy Holidays!" And left. It was the nicest thing! So we went home after that and I called the manager of Chevron the next day to report Angelo. They told me to come over and they would give us a pack of cigarettes to make it even. I was soooo upset with the way this kid handled the situation though. And then they didn't even reprimand him at all. To this day, every time I go in there, he's rude as hell to me! If I need change back, I'll put my hand out and he throws the change on the counter in front of me. EVERY FREAKIN TIME! THEN the SECOND negative experience we had was when my husband was over there the other day and he had a $2.50 coupon from Marlboro that the guy didn't put in correctly, so my husband did the math in his head and knew the guy still owed him $2.50. So he asked the guy for his receipt and the guy REFUSED to give him his receipt. My husband was like, "No dude, I NEED my receipt!" And then my husband pulled out his cell phone to start recording and the guy then tells him, "If you put the phone away, we can make a deal!" My husband was like, "What?!?!" And he puts his phone down, then the guy pulls out a TON of cash out of his pocket (as if he'd been pocketing the cash all night long) and pulls out a $5 bill and hands it to my husband. He was like, "What the hell? Okayyyyy....?" And just left... soooo confused as to what just occurred. lol. He called me telling me what just happened and then was like, "Why would he DO that???" Crap machines and the guy inside literally said did you read the instructions. Are you serious!! I'm not an idiot and read the instructions and the machines don't work so you have to go inside to pay. Ridiculous when I have a child with me and weird people outside.. the last thing I want to do is have to go inside. I had to wake up my child to go pay inside since their machines don't work. I always use Chevron in my cars. It's expensive but it saves me from fuel line, delivery, and injector problems if you are going to keep your car long term. If I did not own my car, if I leased it for a short term, or rented it, then I would use any other fuel that is cheaper because it would be someone else's problem after 50K miles. The location of this Chevron Station is the best. It's right next to Ralph's, CVS, across from Trader Joes and Starcrooks. I can kill 5 birds in one stop on this block. Use Chevron. The pumps don't properly work to let you input your rewards numbers and take an extremely long time to fill up. If you like overpaying for gas and terrible service, this is the place to be. If that was the only issue this gas station had, it wouldn't be a big problem. This particular Chevron layout has you enter from one side of the gas station, exit the other side; similar set up to Costco's gas lines to make pumping gas more efficient. Now, it wouldn't be an issue but the idiots that run this gas station let their customers park in the "exit passing lane" which prevents you from exiting the gas station instead of telling them to park in the perfectly good parking lot that surrounds this gas station. Their brilliant solution? "You can just back up" even though there are clear signage and arrows on the ground that point to 1 direction that directs drivers to enter from one side of the gas station and exit the other side. It's out of Chevrons control on who their customers are but your employees allow morons to park in lanes which are needed to leave the gas station is a major safety hazard and quite frankly rude to the customers that just want to fill up and leave. I was unable to back out of the gas station and even when asking the attendant to ask the old man to park his car in a parking spot(old man even had a handicap placard so he was a mere few feet from it), the attendant refused and said to just back up and leave even though there was clearly a vehicle parked behind me that prevented me from leaving the station. On top of the annoyance of having a malfunctioning gas pump, an attendant that does not understand what an exit passing lane is made for, waiting unnecessary time, the old man that illegally parked in that passing lane comes up to my car window to verbally assault me multiple times before leaving the station. I understand even idiots need jobs but even a 16 year old high schooler that eats tide pods for insta-fame understands the concept of not blocking the exit lane for vehicles to pass cars still pumping gas. Hell, even an elementary aged kid knows that you park in parking spaces, not just anywhere you want. read more

We visit this location quite often being close by. However today June 3, around 8.30pm at 6.89 per gallon giving 112 dollars worth of business to the owner I was amazed that the washer liquid had no soap in it to clean my windshield. I walked in the store and told the male person behind the counter about it and he insisted there was soap!! I told him I just used the sponge and squeezee and found no soap in it at all when he became arrogant and uncourteous. I asked for the name of the owner when he retorted it was none of my business!! Wow what an employee he wouldn't work for me! I suggest the owner should place camera in the store and monitor the behavior of his/her employees. If I was the owner I would turn this person loose today! Customers are the reason they are in business are they not? read more

This gas station is located in the same plaza as the Ralph's on Culver. The Mobil station across the street was less expensive but there was a raid on this side so I paid to be able to jump in the first available raid group, heh heh. There was no line at the time and the raid timer was counting down fast, so I used the credit card and gas as fast as I could to get the transaction over with. It was processed properly. After jumping in the car I managed to drive to a parking space close enough to the Pokémon GO gym that had the raid. Of course, if I had passengers, I could have just told them to go to the raid while I filled the car up, but I would need a car charger either way. There are two gyms on this side of the parking lot, one in the Bruxie and one in the Habit. read more

The people are always so friendly and start great conversations that I could wish I could finish if I wasn't always in such a rush for work. Today I found out I lost My business American Express card and was alerted by Greg that I dropped it the other day. I walked in today not knowing that I dropped it and was greeted with a great vibe he advised me that I had dropped it the day before. How honest and kind the employee GREG was. It was outstanding. I believe that an employee who is trustworthy and ethical, deserves to be recognized widely by the company because it is hard these days to find someone as ethical as himself. Love this Chevron. It's like a home away from home (for gas and cigarettes etc.) If you can take one thing away from this Chevron, its the staff and how they treat you. Walking into anyother gas station is typically a boring experience, but I've been coming here for years, and Tony (General Manger) and Greg (Assitant Manager) along with their staff definitley keep this place up to par on personal relationships and make your visit fun everytime. Cleanliness - One of the cleanest gas stations you can go to in the Orange County Area. They have a cashier and an attendant - as it should be. One to handle the sales and the other to constantly keep the place clean. Bathrooms are always maintained, not covered in graffiti, and smell clean. Selection isn't large as far as food goes being that its a smaller chevron but they have a wall of drinks from energy drinks to waters, and juices, and even muscle milk if you want a quick protein boost! Cigarrettes are fairly priced, and again, the staff is awesome! read more

Pump 1 is total crap. All the other ones are great. Fast. Smooth. Clean. Very wide drive through spaces. Floors, pump stations, and cleaning stations are kept very clean. Water is never empty and towels are always available. Easily negotiable entrance and exit even though people go in and out on both sides. Visibility is good through each pump station and around the corners at the exits. Level ground at each pump which is good if you ride a motorcycle. I`ve never been in side the store but it looks clean and organized. Sometimes you`ll get d*ckheads parking in front of the store which is more than inconsiderate, but oh well. Parking is plentiful just a few steps away so if you`re not a colossal @ss, then you`ll appreciate the large parking spots out of the way of the other patrons. Drive in. Fuel up. Be on your way. One of my favorite gas stations in all of OC. Big thumbs up. read more

Review update: I have changed from 1 star to 5 stars. Their pumps are all new and works just fine. ...... I am over this gas station. The pumps never work. They click off every 5 seconds, I cannot fill up a tank (even if I wanted to) with out it clicking off. EVERYTIME!! I have tried multiple pumps at this location. I then went inside to tell the clerk that this is my 4th or 5th bad experience. He didn't seem to care. There are a lot of other gas stations to go (there is just one across the street). The chip readers on both credit/debit have not worked since the remodel a year or more ago. The credit/debit are rigged to steal debit card numbers. Either an employee or management is responsible. Several times, before I caught on to this scam, I would purchase cigarettes and thirty minutes later Chase Fraud Unit telephoned me to ask about some purchases in the San Francisco area. The Chase Fraud Unit read back to me all of the bogus charges until the cigarette purchase at this gas station. Just to be clear, I seldom use my debit card. I purposely did not use my 3rd new debit card for any purchases until I used it at the gas station. And low-and-behold! Guess who gave me ring on my cell an hour after my cigarette purchase? A) Chase Fraud Unit asking me if I attempted to use my debit card at the same brand gas station in the San Francisco area and then a clothing store in that same part of town. There a two cashiers that seem to have issues with the Point Of Sale register each time I encounter them and always they tell me to "slide your card one more time, please. Convenience=3 stars. Speed at which gas flows out of the pumps and normal crowdedness at 8:00 AM=2 stars. I drive a car that requires premium gas so i do normally try to find a Chevron. I do alot of city driving, but make occasional trips out to the desert so mpg is essential. I find that this place is quite busy in the mornings, but when i drive by during other parts of the day there does always seem to be a pump open. If you are in the neighborhood and need quality gas (and don't mind a potential wait in the AM0 give this place a try. This gas staion is one of the few, that still offer help at the pumps by an employee, cater to diabled customers with plaquards, offer free help at the air and wster pump, give free directions when needed, and have even called in the Police dept. To help a poor lost woman to her destination in town,( as she was not quite sure where it was) so the officer gave her a personal escort to her friends house after conferring with the lost woman on where she thought the house was. This gas station is friendly, polite, glad to see you and hope you come back again, and they have good old fashioned manners, we are important to them. It is 9 times out of 10, an enjoyable experience visiting Cevron, Extra Mile, in Irvine Cali. read more

I went inside with three winning scratch tickets in hand. The total amount of my winning tickets was $120. I planned to buy an additional $120 in new tickets with the winnings, so the store would have had to come out of the register $0.00. The BRAINDEAD clerk doesn't understand her store's policy and thinks she can't cash in more than $50 in winning tickets per day per person. She's wrong. I guarantee that the store policy is she can't hand more than $50 CASH per person per day. The store doesn't want someone like me who plays the $20 and $30 tickets to walk in a wipe out their cash drawer. That I do understand. However, if I hand the clerk $120 in winnings and ask for 6 of the $20 tickets in return, the store hands me $0.00 CASH AND OF COURSE the store owner would welcome that transaction. He makes money on every purchase I make. The Clerk was so CLUELESS that I couldn't even debate with her. It's a shame and this store needs to fire someone who is so inept. I'd love to hear back from the Manager or Owner to confirm that the Clerk has no clue regarding the policy you have asked her to adhere to. If by chance the Clerk is correct and your actual policy is to refuse more than $50 in cashins even if the patron asks for $0.00 cash and instead only wants new tickets, then my apologies to the Clerk and shame on you. If that's the case, which I highly doubt, but if it is, you're a complete fool and should close your doors since you're a terrible business person. I would have rated this business a zero if it allowed me to. The pumps have not been working at this station for months. I went in last Sunday around 6pm. I was having trouble with a pump that appeared to be okay. I was having difficulty with my card scanning. I went into the building and told them I was extremely frustrated. I made a comment that the pumps have not been working for a long time. A woman said they were being replaced. I asked her when and she made a comment I could go to the station across the street. The male employee in addition to the female employee were extremely rude. The woman followed me to the pump and then tried to get the pump to work. Finally it did. As she walked off, she made a rude and inappropriate comment that I should take my meds. To clarify I do not need meds. That comment was inappropriate for an employee to make. You need to hire employees that are customer focused particularly because the pumps at this station have been inoperable for some time now. read more

My mom came in tonight to pump gas, the man who "assisted" her said something so mind boggling I couldn't wrap my head around. This man said that she could not be on the phone. His words to the exact were "you want to talk on the phone? go outside"!Oh! I'm sorry I didn't think this was the doctors office lol! She was on an important call, and what if something bad was happening, she needed to be informed. I cannot believe this happened to her, and he dared to lie to her and "say that on the window it says take your phone outside". I have never seen that sign.
