This guy runs a pretty good SCAM. I had him inspect my car for an oil leak, which he charged me $180.00 for. He told me that once I decided to do the work, he would apply the $180 towards the estimate of $1100 for the repair. When I returned at a later date to find out how long that quote was good for, I was told that he didn't show my vehicle or quote in the system. He said I needed to pay $180 again for a new quote. Convenience and location are keys to a successful gas station, and this place has both. I've gone here many times, but not because I like anything about its unremarkable character. It is right on the corner of a major intersection less than a block from the 5 freeway, meaning you can pull in, get gas, and jump back on the road fairly easily. As you can see by the photo they've had some recent issues like the pump tower falling over (hopefully nobody was under there) but otherwise things seem to work just fine. Prices are not low but not super high either; while this is no ARCO you should expect to pay a bit more for a place right by the freeway. Sometimes you pay for convenience. Though if you've signed up to be a Ralphs Club member you can get a 10-to-20 cent discount per gallon here. Service-wise, I would probably give this place a miss, though I can't say much about it since I haven't used anything there. The "food mart" is one of those super-small adjacent-to-a-workshop type places, that doesn't have much in the way of refreshment. I think they also do smog checks and other maintenance work on vehicles there. Other than that, you might be approached by the occasional panhandler since it is not located in the best of areas. They seem to generally be on top of that however. There are usually decent condition squeegees available for window cleaning as well. read more

I wish I could give a zero star, I was physically threatened by a staff here. I just visited this station half an hour ago (about 11:20 on Tuesday night, 08.27.19). I drove here wishing to fill gas in my car with cash, so I went inside and asked the staff to put in my $10 cash. When I tried to pump gas in my car, it kept stopping and didn't allow me to keep pumping (station number 3). So I went inside and asked the staff kindly "hi sir, I think the station number 3 is not working properly, could you help me figure out what happened?" (nobody else was in the store so he was definitely not busy with any other customer). And his response was, "YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO USE YOUR MUSCLE?" as he was walking very close towards me. I was surprised and only answered, "maybe, but it would be great if you could help me out." So he went out and saw that the transaction was timed out, and he literally screamed, "IT IS CANCELED NOW, YOU CANCELED IT!!", while literally SMASHING the gas handle against the gas dispenser and staring at me in the eyes angrily (he was smashing so hard the handle couldn't get in place so I had to help him). At this point, I seriously felt scared and physically threatened, considering no one else was around and this man could lay a hand on me anytime. I had to ask him if I could get the rest of my money back so I could go to the station across the street (Mobil). When we went inside, I was concerned so I asked him if anything was wrong. He gave me a smile and said "NOTHING IS WRONG, THE GAS MACHINE IS FINE, JUST THE USER IS WRONG." I asked him for his name and if there was anyone I could talk to to figure out what I did wrong, he did not want to give me an answer. As I am writing this, my hands are still shaking and never in my life had I felt so threatened, by a person that was paid to provide me service. I have always believed that no matter what a person's income level is, the one thing that everyone cares about is the cost of gasoline. Nobody in their right mind wants to give away money. That said, you have a lot of Shell stations that take advantage of people who are in a hurry and don't want to shop for the best place to fill their tanks. The key is to find a station that gives Shell Credit Card owners the same as cash price. Then if you have Fuel Rewards, you get another discount. You can save a lot that way. Most just rip you off and charge you the credit price even though they don't get that ding passed on to them when a Shell Credit Card is used. They just charge you more because they can. A classic example is the Campus Shell location on 1201 East Baker St. in Costa Mesa. Don't go there. They rip you off with this method. They used to give the discount but the new ownership has eliminated that perk. On the flip side, you have this great location that does give you the discount. Why waste the money when you don't have to? I give this place two big thumbs up. Keep up with the honest way of doing business and your location will stay loaded with cars at every pump like it was on Sunday afternoon 2/18/18. read more

Do not bring your car here for a maintainence! We decided to go here because it was closer compared to our typical trusted mechanic because our car was in a very bad condition. All of the things they said we needed to change , our trusted and long-time mechanic after bringing it over to him the other day said was okay. Parts that we were told we needed replaced were cheaper, once WE decided to research and call ourselves. All that we really needed to do was change a single part that was broken and that was it. There are good mechanics and shady mechanics, much like there are good dentists and bad dentists that try to scare you into spending more money. Always get a second opinion! Do not come here to get anything fixed. They will scam you while pretending to laugh and have a smile on their faces. read more

This is your typical but unusual gas station for many reasons. I've been here a few times over the years cause it's right off the freeway so it's pretty easy to get back on after filling up! There's always strange people who work here for one the guy today didn't really seem to know what the hell was going on but he was still cool about it. Their little mini market doesn't have a lotta snacks so seek other places for your munches! A few years back I came here and I found the keys to the store in the front door I pulled them out and gave them to the clerk he was really puzzled as to why I had the keys but none the less he should have known where they were! Anyway it was all a good laugh! Oh and the last time I was here I took that awesome photo of the tractor wile I was pumping gas! With that said ill more then likely end up here at one point or another to fill up again because I like strange unusual places and this is one of them! read more

HORRIBLE service. To top it off, what seemed to be the owner of the gas station, denied me my right to free air to fill my tire with. Not only that but he told me I was wrong and he demanded I pay $1 to use the air machine. I felt he was insulting my intelligence. around this area this is the CHEAPEST gas when you pay cash prices! i have been going to this gas station when I'm on my way home because they are usually 10 cents cheaper than the other gas stations in tustin/irvine and and 10 cents cheaper when you pay cash. i have never had an issue at this gas station. its usually pretty empty so its a get in and get out. I've at most encountered like two sketchy people while pumping my gas, but nothing crazy so it is overall a safe location. the people working inside are always very nice and accept my ralphs rewards card. The smog check guy is rude and I don't trust him. He also didn't want to do the smog check on my car because it's an older Honda. Which makes no sense. But I'm glad I stopped there because as a result I lucked in to their mechanics, who have proven to be very honest and never once tried to push me into doing any repairs my car doesn't need. read more

Never had a problem in the day time. Unfortunately my job has me heading home at 2 am every weekend and it is the only shell that is on the way. Almost every time with rare exception has an attendant actually been present. I just wait out in my car for 20 mins wondering where this attendant was even though they said open.
