They don't accept their gift cards for purchases. Whoever heard of this? I purchased them from Staples and was largely embarrassed that they didn't work. I retrieved them and gave cash instead. I tried to get my money back and was told no refund on activated gift cards. They activated at purchase and when you call the number on the cards all they can verify is the card balances which verified that they're good cards. Their excuse is that they had some fraud in Southern California and that they may be good in other parts of California. What purpose would it serve to drive out $75 worth of gas to redeem $75. Nice upgrade versus the flimsy plastic keypad that some places have that people ruin by using their keys instead of their fingers. So normally I always use the same pump but for some reason because my mancandy was rushing me for dinner, I rushed out the door and threw on whatever I could find on my bed. Realized I needed gas and was like a chicken with my head cut off cus it was already so late and I had to head all the way to Santa Monica. So I totally forget that for the first time I'm pumping gas on the opposite side of the aisle and started small talking (yes I love to chat with complete strangers cus growing up I was never allowed to ) and totally forgot I was still pumping. I rushed in my car and saw all his texts asking if if I was there yet :/.. (Since told him I left 40 min ago but was still getting dolled up haha). Got into my car and drove away and heard a LOUD crushing and ripping noise. I was like WTF was that?! Stopped my car and looked at my passenger side mirror and saw the freaking pump hanging off my car. I was literally in shock and just froze & had NO idea what the proper protocol was. Then I backed up and saw the lady I was talking to in the Porsche and rolled down my window cus I was like totally humiliated and she says "don't worry I've done that before" lmao Anyhow I'm like frozen there, don't know what to do. So I slowly get out of my car to take the pump out and lay it next to the gas pump. Suddenly I look at the cashier thru the glass window and saw a customer. I knew for sure he had told her so I was like F*CK!! She comes marching out and here goes dialogue: Her (cashier): you have to Pay!!!!!! Me: umm.. pay for what? Her: you have to pay!!! Their carwash sucks. My mistake was coming here on a Sunday where I waited in line for 30 minutes. The carwash was cash only. Wtf automatic carwash is cash only?!! The warning signs went off when I noticed a huge sign proclaiming a third-party ATM inside. THEN, when my car came out of the carwash, there was soap left on the back window. Nice. This is one of the businesses shell gas station you'll ever see. It's always busy, and there's always a line. I've been coming here since I pumped my first tank of gas; however, when gas price started rising, I stopped. This gas station is always a couple cents higher per gallon than the ones over on the other side of Tustin. When gas price is high, that few cents per gallon can add up pretty fast. I still come here when I'm in a rush to get some gas, but I will try and avoid it when I can. Unfortunately though, for many people, this is one of the few shell gas station within a 5 mile range. DO NOT USE THIS CAR WASH!! IT DAMAGED MY CAR AND THEY WILL NOT COVER THE REPAIR!!! Took my car to the drive-through car wash at the Shell station yesterday, 7/1/21. No soap came down and the bristles beat up my car to the point where it knocked off my low profile antenna. I went into the store to tell them what had happened and they gave me the card for the manager. I called the manager Ana today. She told me that they were having issues with their regulator and they were waiting for a new part. She told me she would get back to me after speaking to the owner, Charlie, which she did. They have it on video that the car wash knocked my antenna fin off of my car, but then she gave me the lame excuse that she had called a Kia dealer and was told that the fin was poorly made and could fall off anywhere and that they would not assist with the repair which is OVER $600!! The pumps NEVER work right. Every single time I come here, the pump trigger will just click-clack without doing anything. I can usually get it to work if I put the nozzle back on and off the pump a few times. Often, I have to re-do the entire transaction. It also randomly shuts off after a gallon or two. Went in early in the morning to fill up with gas. Decided to use their car wash since the screen prompted the use. I go thru it and wait for the air blower to start. NOTHING!!!! I go to the cashier and ask about the blower and he tells me that in order to get the blower, I have to purchase the more expensive car wash! I am writing about the FRN (Fuel rewards Network) shell card. This Just does not work . First you have to take it inside the gas station to start the process every time. Then you have to guess how many gallons you need to fill up. Then go back and fill your car. Too cumbersome for just 0.03 cents a gallon. Somehow I did not even get that discount. BEWARE: Credit card info stolen/fraud from this gas station TWICE! Once was my discover card (luckily discover caught on before they try to buy $2000 worth at Walmart), and a SECOND time was my fiance's Capital one card. We use the self-pay credit option at the gas pump, and the 2 times that it happened, the purchases were made a day after the gas transaction. This is probably an example of skimming where the employee or thief can take the credit card data from the machine on the pump. This gas station is near my home but I normally don't fill-up my car at this Shell gas station primarily because it is about 20 cents a gallon more than at a Costco gas station not that far away. But I do like going to this gas station because it has an automatic car-wash that is cheaper than the nearby full service car wash. Sometimes there is a line waiting for the car wash but I found that if I get there before 8am, generally there is maybe 0 or 1 or 2 cars ahead of me waiting for the car wash, so not too long of a wait. read more

I have been going to this Shell gas station for years and while I agree that gas isn't cheap and the auto-wash is expensive, I always gave them my patronage because the people were polite and friendly. Recently however, I noticed new employees there who are less than polite, and just this last night, I arrived to purchase a ticket to get my car washed and the lady at the counter spoke rather rudely to me, and drummed her fingers and sighed loudly when I was running my credit card. She also did this to a few other customers who were also purchasing gas and snack items, as if they were wasting her time. I was almost tempted to yell at her, but I decided to say nothing and just get my car washed, though I didn't exactly feel welcome after that. I'm usually pretty understanding of how sometimes customer service positions are stressful, but I think this particular person is just downright rude. Perhaps this is an isolated incident, but for me, this is just the end of my patronage here. read more

I'm a be real with you, the morning staff/employees of the morning, afternoon and evening staff are wonderful and an absolute delight to deal with. Very friendly very approachable and I always leave with a smile. Now when it comes to this one particular employee who does late night early morning shift around 2-4 A.M. ,when I usually get off, I do not leave with a smile but more of a frustration and Aggravation at how blatantly I am being treated like I am a criminal. Previous to this guy working there was no problem whatsoever, the overnight employee was cool. The last two times I've gone there has been overtly fearfully racist. I in all of my life have never been told or asked to turn off my engine an the employee before I walk into the store at a gas station. When I asked why would you ask me to do that his reply was for his safety and mine. He also stated that there was a sign that said for me or anybody to turn off their engine in which I replied yes that is applied to when you are getting gas. The sign also said to turn off my cell phone and I'm pretty sure he didn't ask me to do that. Now I wouldn't be so upset at this if it wasn't for the previous time I came in to buy something and he wouldn't even let me inside. He literally open the door so that he could get in and then close the doors in my face as I was walking in behind him and then asked what could he get for me. I have been coming to this gas station for the past year and a half consistently and these people damn near know me by face and I have never not at any time during the day or night have been denied entrance into a 24 hour store until this new employee showed up. He obviously has a problem or is scared or worried about being robbed, But don't make the customers for the pulling up have to show or prove to you that they're not a criminal in order for you to do your job in customer service. And I know it's not store policy to not let people in or to tell people to turn off their engine when they pull up so why would I be treated in this manner When I've never been treated this way before at this establishment. I think this is the only gas station I have ever reviewed! Stopped to fuel up on the way back from the beach. Narrow lanes for pumping gas, and tiny little "mini mart" inside offered drinks and snacks. Also has a drive through car wash. Bathroom inside was pretty big, and VERY clean!
