This man should NOT represent "Shell"!

BEWARE!! DO NOT GO HERE!! ATTENTION OWNER (S), You are losing hundreds & thousands of dollars due to this employee. Let me share my experience so that you can become aware of the mishandling of your business; 1) He plays loud Arabic music. It's difficult to communicate as customers have to yell over the music to ask for what they want, which leads to complain number two. 2) I did not catch his name as it's blurry in the picture. It appears to be "APE", & I wouldn't be surprised at all as he acted like a dumb animal of low, or no IQ. Each time I ask for something, or asked him to resolve an issue, he'ld simply stare. I'm not sure if he simply lacks the intellect required for this job?, or he's Rude & Disinterested? If it's the later, you may want to replace him ASAP to prevent losing more $. 3) His behavior was Sexist. He answers only to men. The woman before me was treated the same & left to go to another gas station frustrated as her pump wasn't working. He shrugged & rolled his eyes. He clearly does not like his job. I'm not sure if where he's from they don't respect women?, however, this kind of behavior can lead to LAWSUITS here. Do you want to eventually end up in COURT? 4) He takes long breaks. He will go outside & lock the gas station to socialize for 20-30 minutes while customers are lined up. He does not care for how many customers leave, nor your losses. Watch your cameras. 5) He attempted to overcharge me. There was another man (elderly man) that entered from the back room. I asked if he was the manager & can please help resolve the issue. They communicated something in their language, then this elderly man also continued to awkwardly stare at me with no answer. 6) The "APE"? man simply responded, "No. I won't help. If you don't like, then oh well. Go somewhere else", & crossed his arms & stood there. This is when I took this picture. He started yelling in his own language. It was Loud & Threatening! He chased me all the way out to my car while clicking pictures of me. I wonder if he is aware of the laws in this country. Is he Legal? Such threatening behaviors could lead to the " Shell " business ending up in courts. All of this happened while the Arabic music was still blasting as if I came out of a club in a foreign country. I understand that this job requires a lot of intelligence to do what he does.. as handling a cash register is very difficult, but his behavior is lower than the lowest of bottom feeders. There are many good people out there that aren't racist, sexist, rude, & would love to be A Representative of "Shell". If the Owner is reading this: Why would you not train your employees? or if you did & he is simply Lazy, Rude, & Disrespectful, then why would you not taken any action? These disinterested employees are sabotaging your business! Is this a "Family Business"? It comes at a cost with possible lawsuits in the future. This is a stain on the " Shell " franchise. It is sad that such people are now representing the name. With Unprofessional employees like "Ape" (or whatever his name is), it's better to go to ARCO, AM PM, MOBIL, or even CHEVRON.

Not really happy with this place for awhile. Their "Gas Station TV" has been broken for over a month, and it plays the same recording every 10 seconds while pumping gas. I have even asked them to turn it off, but it's like talking to a couple zombies. Many times their pumps are out of receipt paper, as are their paper towels for windshield cleaning. Not a very well-maintained operation!

Auto tire pressure pump! Select the pressure desired and it'll stop automatically for you!

This is the first time I've seen an auto tire pressure pump at a gas station! I feintly remember the Costco at Lakewood also having one. And according to my Indian colleague, they have them all over India. Select the pressure desired and it'll stop automatically for you! The pump nozzle is strong enough to hold onto the tire without your hand holding it. The inside of the station was clean and organized, too. And the attendant was kind enough to turn on the pump for me free of charge (supposedly in California gas stations are required to do this for air - and maybe water. They just get away with charging because people don't know it's actually free if you ask. I've had the attendant turn the pump on for me at 5 different gas stations so far, free of charge).

At the busiest time of day, two employees outside bullshitting, not doin their job !!!!

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE at the front counter for the general store…read more Went in this evening around 7:30pm. Was purchasing several large cereal boxes and an electric razor. The cashier, Eddie, was extremely ARROGANT AND HARSH. He charged me for 2 bags, which was fine because I was using EBT for the purchase, so it would come off and it did, and then he charged for 2 more bags because the other 2 bags came off for the EBT. That means he manually charged me for a total of 4 bags. When I brought this to his attention, he said that since I was also purchasing an electric razor which is not a food item, he was completely justified in charging for the bag charges, even though I was purchasing 2 large boxes of cereal. I told him to cancel my whole order, as I was completely frustrated with him at this point, and he did not even inform me he was charging me for additional bags. To make matters worse, the assistant manager-Jeff was standing there and did not intervene in what was clearly a very bad customer service experience. I was so frustrated, I called the store back when I got home, and Jeff was very apathetic to me. I told him that I was extremely upset about what had just happened and also that he did not intervene, as Jeff has seen me there a few times and knows me as a regular customer there. Jeff did not want to take any proactive actions as part of the managerial staff there, and instead told me to call back in 2 days and speak with the store manager, David. This is actually the 2nd time I have had a horrible customer experience with Eddie. 2 months ago I purchased some food items and a battery for my smoke detector. Eddie charged me twice for the one single smoke detector I was purchasing. It was an ordeal to have him fix his error, as he insisted he had made no mistake at all. Then when he finally took off the extra charge, he was extremely ARROGANT AND HARSH, and made no apology for his mistakes and HORRIBLE ATTITUDE.

I was cycling on the Peter's Canyon River Trail from Back Bay heading to Portola on a 85 degree day…read morelast weekend, mile 30 and I was out of liquid--totally parched. This place is right off the trail. Popped in here because my friend from France Pierre said the best cycling recovery drink is Perrier! And it's also my favorite drink! And guess what? They have it here! I got the Perrier Lime. (Wished they still had the lemon one.) But here you have to pay the price for that level of recovery all the way from France on a hot day on the trail in Irvine: $2.63 Worth every penny! I powered it back to my car 8 more miles. They have ample polls to lock up your bike outside and you better do so! There were some suspicious people hanging outside smoking who I later saw pushing shopping carts from Ralphs on the trail. One guy was pushing a bicycle--don't let that be yours. Irvine today is not the Irvine of 10 years ago! Lock up! Anyway on the receipt it says "7-Eleven". But it does not say 7-Eleven on the front. It just says Food Mart. But as long as they have Cold Perrier they can call themselves anything--I don't care. Employees here were friendly and wished me well. It's also a Shell gas station--a brand I do not use.

I made it clear after that I did not want to be touched, and that boundary should not need to be stated at all. I was simply trying to make my purchase and leave, not deal with behavior that crossed professional boundaries. Customer service should be respectful and focused on assisting shoppers, not creating discomfort. After reading other reviews mentioning rudeness, inappropriate behavior, and similar issues, it seems this may be a pattern. Management seriously needs to address staff conduct and training, because this type of behavior is unacceptable in any establishment.
