For those intimidated by mechanics, this place is for you, they won't make you feel rushed and there are no stupid questions. More importantly, they are honest, and I have experienced this first hand with a warranty issue with previously replaced (by them) shocks. When I mentioned that the shocks were just replaced on my last visit after they had reported to me that they were leaking, they immediately took ownership and covered it under warranty, no questions asked. Their prices are a bit higher than other mechanics in the area, but if you value quality over cheap price tag, you will not have an issue with it. Over all, The Mechanic OC has been a great experience and I take all 3 of my vehicles there for maintenance/repair. I highly recommend them!

Don't have someone drop off their car, let it sit there for hours, and then casually tell them you never got around to it. Due to "new management" That's not being under "new management" --that's wasting someone's time and showing a complete lack of consideration for your customers. We could have taken our car somewhere else and actually gotten the service done, but instead we wasted hours because apparently "appointment" is just a suggestion here. I wouldn't recommend this place. If you value your time, save yourself the headache and go somewhere that actually knows how appointments work and respects the time of the people giving them their business. I went in for routine maintenance, including a transmission fluid and pan replacement in accordance with the manufacturer's guidelines, along with an assessment of any other maintenance the car might need. What really impressed me was the combination of outstanding customer service, honest recommendations, and extremely fair pricing. I had received a quote from another mechanic shop that was almost 50% higher and on top of that, they recommended services my car doesn't need for at least another 10,000 miles. Simon, Sam, and the entire team were kind, helpful, and genuinely focused on taking care of my car without making me feel like I was being taken advantage of. And let's be honest, that level of trust and transparency is rare when dealing with auto mechanic shops. Paid for a diagnosis, but the original noise was never diagnosed…read more I brought my car to Auto Craft Mercedes-BMW specifically to identify the source of a noise. They initially pointed to a bolt that had been installed backward. I then personally pointed out a loose ball joint as another possible cause. Sam, the owner, told me that if the noise remained after those issues were corrected, they would check the car again. I had both issues repaired--and the exact same noise is still there. Now, instead of continuing the diagnosis as discussed, Sam wants to replace expensive, nearly new parts at my expense, even though those parts appear to be fine. He told me he would reimburse my diagnostic fee only if I first paid to replace those parts and the noise STILL remained. That makes absolutely no sense to me. I already paid them to diagnose the source of the noise. I should not have to pay to replace expensive parts based on guesses just to prove that the original diagnosis did not identify the problem. I expected a professional and accurate diagnosis--not a process of guessing and replacing costly parts until the noise hopefully disappears. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Auto Craft Mercedes-BMW for diagnosing vehicle problems. Update: Reply to the shop's response Thank you for your response. Unfortunately, it does not address the main issue I raised. I brought my vehicle to Auto Craft Mercedes-BMW because I was specifically told that you would diagnose the problems and provide a detailed report. Regarding the check engine light, you did not provide any fault codes- nothing. Instead, I was told that the engine would need to be opened at a cost of approximately $1,900 just to investigate further. That is where I lost confidence in the diagnostic process. I paid for a diagnosis--not for expensive parts to be replaced based on speculation or for an engine to be opened before the underlying problem was properly identified. The same issue occurred with the original noise. Your shop initially identified an incorrectly installed bolt. I had that corrected, but the noise remained. Rather than continuing the diagnostic process, I was advised to replace additional expensive, nearly new parts at your shop first, with a possible refund of the diagnostic fee only if the noise continued. That is not the diagnostic service I was promised or paid for. My concern is simple: I paid for professional diagnostic work and expected the problems to be properly investigated and documented. Being in business since 1997 does not change my experience. I came to Auto Craft expecting transparency and a thorough diagnosis. Unfortunately, I did not receive that, which is why I took my business elsewhere. I am sharing my experience so other customers can understand why I was dissatisfied with the diagnostic process and make their own informed decisions.
