Car battery was dead this morning. AAA technician tested it and said it had a bad cell & needed to be replaced. Battery was purchased at this location last December. While Jiffy lube's test indicated the battery was still good, I appreciate that Rubin T still replaced it under the warranty. He didn't tell me drive with the current battery and come back if the problem occurred again. Thank you Rubin for allowing me to leave with the peace of mind that I had a reliable battery. This Jiffy lube also deserves a 5-star review from last December when I originally purchased the battery as it was a positive experience. read more

Went to 3 different Jiffy Lube locations today to get my 1-year-old battery replaced under warranty. Each one gave me a different made up reason why they "couldn't" do it, even though they were obligated to. This location was the 4th, and they checked it properly and replaced it right away under warranty, free of charge. I believe David was the one who helped me, him and everyone else there very kind and helpful. I came to Jiffy Lube only for an oil change and specifically asked to be told the price before any work began. However, they took my car in first and only gave me the price afterward, when it was too late to say no. The price turned out to be much higher than at other shops in Irvine. They didn't even inspect the car properly -- no checking of lights or other basics like most other places usually do. On top of that, they kept pushing additional services, even though I clearly said several times that I only needed an oil change. The service was overpriced, and I'm not even sure what kind of oil they actually used. When I brought up my concerns to the manager about the rude treatment and overall experience, he dismissed it by saying, "That can't happen here," completely invalidating my experience. It felt manipulative and disrespectful. This was my first and definitely last visit to Jiffy Lube. I do not recommend this place -- it's overpriced, unprofessional, and lacks transparency. read more

I accidentally locked my keys in my car right next to the Jiffy Lube location while I was getting my car detailed. Jose was really helpful. We actually weren't there for Jiffy Lube service originally, but because of this experience, I will definitely be coming back to this location. I had been here before but had started going to another Jiffy Lube. A man named Jose was nearby -- I had asked him for help earlier, but at the time, they didn't have the right tools. Later, we ended up finding a tool that could work, and Jose came over and was able to help me and my boyfriend get into the car. It was really important to me, and it showed that people are willing to help and do good without it always having to be a huge financial transaction. Because of this experience, I have more trust in this company, and I will definitely be back. I wanted to share how important it is to have people like Jose on a team. It's not just about being selfish or helping only when there's payment involved. In this case, it wasn't about money -- it was about someone helping when I really needed it. Earlier in the day, I called this location to confirm if it's okay for me to arrive around 6:30 and request an oil change. Mind you, their hours say 7pm is the closing time. I arrived at 6:15pm, as I work in a field that requires over time and I rushed out to arrive before 6:30pm. The worker turned me away saying that the location is closed for service even though the hours differ. I came here around 9am Wednesday morning just for a quick oil change and new brake light, but what I thought was going to be a quick in and out service became an all-day headache of mysterious car problems. After dropping off my car for my services, I waited in their waiting room for about half an hour until a mechanic came in and asked for the owner of the Ford escape- me. He informed me they had finished the services, but were unable to get the car to start. Upon further inspection they had somehow forced my car into "Vehicle Transport Mode," disabling the car's ability to drive. I had never seen my car do this in the several years I've had it. No one in the entire Jiffy Lube could figure out how to fix the issue they had caused, so I called my Ford dealership service dept manager who informed me "they had to have been seriously messing with the car's computer system for that to happen on accident. You'll need to get it towed to the nearest dealership." Great. So, I call a tow truck and am quoted an hour and a half wait. I'm upset, confused and worried about my car- now that it's stuck in a mysterious "transport mode" that I'd never seen happen before ever. What's even more upsetting is that no worker would take accountability on messing up my car to the point where it wouldn't drive, wouldn't recognize my ford key, and wouldn't turn on. Seriously? And the kicker- they still asked me to pay $104 for my services as my car was currently stuck in the service bay, unable to drive, despite everything working completely fine when I drove it up an hour prior. Absolutely ridiculous. As I'm waiting for the tow truck to come, anxious about what they might have done to my car to get it into this state, a mechanic comes in and tells me that my car is now stuck in the bay. What?? He explains to me that the brake mechanism in my car is jammed and the car won't go into neutral for them to push it out in the parking lot for the tow truck to come get it. So now, my car won't turn on, won't drive, won't recognize my key and now the brakes are jammed?? So, I call the tow company to inform them of the updated situation to which they cancel my towing request saying they won't be able to tow the vehicle until it's clear from the service bay. Fantastic. It's now 11:30am and I've been here two hours longer than I wanted to and now I have no tow truck coming and no idea of what to do. I tell the staff they need to get my car clear from the bay for the tow company to come to which they say they can't because it's a liability for them and they need the tow truck to be able to clear it. Talk about a catch 22. About a hour or so later, they're finally able to clear it by forcing my car into neutral and potentially screwing up my transmission. I call for another tow truck which arrives two hours later. The Jiffy Lube staff then tells me my car's battery is now dead too. Amazing. The jiffy lube staff says it may have been a battery issue this whole time and that I should possibly replace it. Tow truck arrives and jump starts my car. The battery is fine. The vehicle is fine- it recognizes my keys, no vehicle transport mode, nothing. Just completely normal again, suddenly, after 6 hours. As I got into my now functioning car, the staff shouted at me to "come again!," as they would love to service me again some time. So disrespectful and incredibly irritating after my entire day was spent spiraling about what they did with my car for this to have happened. I had to cancel my entire day's plan as a result and after all of this- THEY STILL CHARGED ME for my oil change and brake light. I will NEVER be back here ever again, nor will I ever step foot in another Jiffy Lube for the rest of my days. I also caution everyone to stay away, because evidently they have no idea what they're doing. read more

Stopped by for an oil change and requested for the technician to please check the tire pressure on all tires. He assured me he would and to my surprise it was probably the quickest oil change I've experienced at a Jiffy Lube. It must've been just about 10 minutes before he gave me my car back and confirmed he checked the tire pressure and put them "where they needed to be". I paid what I consider to be way too much for a 10 minute service and he let me know I could get a free car wash next door along with my oil change. In my excitement to get my car washed (which was also on my to-do list) I failed to check if the passenger side front tire had been set to the right pressure. This was the main tire I was worried about as it was visibly low when I arrived. I chose to believe the young man had checked and filled them all. Days later I happened to be on the passenger side of my car and realized it was still visibly low. My bf used his air pump to fill it up and it let me know my tire was actually a bit under 20 psi. I was very disappointed to realize that they didn't even bother to do a visual inspection because otherwise they would've realized why I had asked them to check in the first place. What was originally a pleasant and efficient service ended up leaving me feeling like I wasted money and now I'm left wondering if they only topped off my oil instead of conducting a complete change. I've been here twice now for oil changes since moving to the area and haven't really had any issues. Their service is quick and employees are friendly. I always call ahead of time so I know it's not busy when I walk in. I also like how they give you a coupon for a free car wash after your oil change to the car wash next door. They are also thorough when explaining what they saw in your car. When they recommend services i don't feel pressured into purchasing anything. This most recent oil change I asked if I could use their online coupon and showed the manager. He then took my phone and clicked to show me the fine print. Initially I was surprised he touched my phone because of the pandemic and I prefer nobody touches my things unnecessarily, but it wasn't a big deal to me since I disinfect my phone once I get home anyways. He also told me the coupon doesn't work for Value Oil Change Plus, which he said is the conventional oil change that I was getting. Since I was going to pay full price, I opted for the synthetic blend oil change for only $5 more since I could use the coupon on that one. I later discovered that the conventional oil change does apply for the coupon, as shown in the photo. I want to give the benefit of the doubt that he didn't know, but it was the manager so I'm not so sure. So I just spent $25 more than I needed to. read more

My Coronavirus Oil Change Experience May 2020: Think about it folks, every "new normal" experience you're going through right now we go down in history that you can share with your grandchildren and hopefully your children's grandchildren. I brought my car in for an oil change. As someone who lives 2 minutes away, has been working from home in 3 decades, and drives less than 500 miles a month, I still need a reliable car that won't break down on me. So I drove in to Jiffy Lube this morning to give my car a much needed TLC. Their $20 OFF coupon also inspired me to take care of it before it expired. Good job JL. In addition to the oil change, car fluids were inspected and topped off, a blown out headlight and another tail light replaced, and a black/dirty cabin air filter replaced, all for a great deal out the door. Originally the associates told me a different price on the phone to get me there specially when I let them know my car battery has died and when I got there after they turned off my car they told me a different price which was $50 more expensive than the original price and basically they twisted my arm and told me take it or leave it. I checked the price of the battery at couple other shops and they all gave me a lower prices than this place but I have already did change the battery at this shop. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO THIS JIFFY LUBE. My car has been leaking oil HORRIBLY since I took it to this place. It was so bad that I just took it to my regular mechanic to see if I needed to start shopping for a new vehicle, and they advised me that the oil leak was coming from the filter because it either was not installed correctly or was a defective part. Given the absolutely horrible experience I had at this Jiffy Lube and the totally bad attitudes of the people working there, I can't say I'm surprised. Disrespectful and rude is an understatement!!! I've never been treated so unkind and rude in my life! It's not surprising that many of your reviews echo my same sentiments. My husband comes here for both of our oil changes with no problems. They barely acknowledged my existence and when they did it was as if I was ruining their conversation as they were all just standing around. They did not give me an estimate as they usually do for my husband. I had to ask for my free car wash which they had to put on my receipt which I then had to had over to the car wash attendant...I should be able to keep my receipt for my services. Next I had to ask for my sticker...I guess that was a major inconvenience cutting into their chatting because they were very rude about it. Then I had to ask to reset my oil change gauge. All these things the do for my husband without asking...why is it different for me? After reading your reviews....mostly female...who all say the same thing about rude behavior I would hope that you notice that you might have a major problem with some of your employees. After my horrible experience I asked to speak to a manager who comes over and leans his greasy hands and arms all over my opened window inside my car!!! I took my company fleet vehicle here for an oil change on 5/19/23. Not the first time to this location but possibly the last. First complaint is that whoever did the work left he's greasy hand print on the inside door panel. Really?? He had to have seen that before returning the van to me. Second complaint and it's a bigger issue is that after parking the van in my driveway for the weekend, I discover Monday morning that it's been leaking oil. See the attached pictures for the dirty door and oil stain. So I bring the van back to them and they tell me that their guy must have spilled oil all over the top of the engine when he was refilling it and didn't bother to clean it!!! Really?!? I'm sorry but that is shady AF. Sure they cleaned up all the oil top and bottom but they didn't come clean my driveway. I'd be cautious of this location. They may make a mess under your hood and not clean it up. read more

I had a noise coming out of my car kind of like a screeching noise and Carlos took a look at my brakes, measured the brake pads and was very professional very knowledgeable and helped me he was very attentive and warm and Gave me great advice. Kenneth also helped by looking at my rotors and told me I had a heat wave on my rotors and that's probably why it was making a screeching sound but I had about 4 inches left so they were so professional and so wonderful. I turned up at 6.30 pm, the guy saw me parking and quickly started closing down the doors. What the heck, there were no other cars there being worked on and they close at 7pm. I went up to him and asked if I could get my car done, he said we are closed. I said it's 6.32 and he said we close at 6.30. I told him you watched me pull up and park at 6.30 and I saw you start closing your doors and the front doors are still open. He then said well the back doors are closed. Really? There weren't when I pulled in. So he had 30 minutes, no other customers and he really couldn't do a basic oil change for me. How do you claim you are open until 7pm, you have an empty garage, it's half an hour before closing time and you can't help me with an oil change. And then within five minutes of me getting back into my car looking on my phone for another oil change place, this guy had closed down the shop and left 25 minutes early. He was also kind of rude when I called him out on what he was clearly doing. Few months ago I had an oil change on my car at this location and I remembered when the mechanic saw me the air and cabin filters the air was ready to be replace so I said ok and the cabin was still in very good condition so I said no to this. I left this location with oil change and new air filter and a few days after my car smelled awful. I keep cleaning my car often but smells didn't go away and I began feel was something fishy with the cabin filter since was at this location. Today I went for a oil change and the new mechanic saw me a cabin filter, full of bugs,smaller and he said it needed to be replaced. This was not my old in good condition cabin filter because I bought it on my own and I got the best quality at the time. I m not questioning this mechanic was taking it out from my car today however ; somehow in the previous oils change this cabin filter was switched Be aware if you use this location and ready to have someone inspection your car after services just to be safe. read more

DO NOT COME HERE. Today I came for an oil change on my 2004 V6 Tacoma. I brought my own OEM oil filter and 6 quarts of Royal Purple, figured the oil change is easy enough and they'll use my high quality parts so why not. I was being lazy. I come home and check, the oil filter they put on is not the one I brought in (some generic white filter, probably their cheap bulk filter). The oil plug has scratches all over it (bet its overtorqued from spec) and they've got oil all over the skid plate (fine, the oil change gets messy that one I can forgive). Furthermore after checking the dipstick and oil cap, the oil I am seeing is not purple, but just regular brownish oil. I suspect not only did they not use my filter but did not use my royal purple (I brought 6 quarts, more than enough) either. I will be following up with them in the morning but this is some shady nonsense. Not only that, they said the discount coupons they have don't apply when you bring in your own oil and filter?? I didn't use your resources, so I am barred from a discount even though you're already saving money on your oil and filter. And you didn't even use my filter and possibly my oil?
