I'm sort of leaving this as a thank you for that service, knowing I might not be able to return for awhile. His service was also provided during a tough time in my life. I could not have found a more honest and helpful mechanic! I went out on a limb because I was driving in the area and had an issue with my splash shield falling/dragging on the ground. I had recently reached 100k miles on my Accord and the dealers were trying to push me into a $1200 service that I wasn't so sure about. After speaking with numerous mechanics, I saw my godsis' recommendation for Jeff. I messaged not expecting much, but I was already blown away by the way Jeff answered all my questions. He even offered to inspect my car to see if I really needed all the items Honda tried pushing on to me. I was able to meet Jeff a week before and all I really needed was a transmission fluid change. He's extremely honest and not one second did I feel like he was trying to push me into other services. It also didn't hurt that Jeff is very friendly and a great person to have a conversation with! My 3rd brake light was flickering and I was getting quotes at auto repair shops near my work to see if any of them can check whether it was the connector's issue or if I needed to replace the LED light. I received quotes ranging from $50 to $100 for labor only but luckily, Jeff said he'd take a look at my Honda, free of charge. I had already purchased a replacement over the weekend but wanted to make sure that there were not any underlying issues linked to the light. Jeff was friendly and knowledgeable and even let me watch him do the whole process in the shop. Not alot of mechanics allow their customers to step foot in the work area but I appreciated him letting me learn a thing or two. At the end of the day, it was just a simple light replacement but what made me even happier was that he didn't charge me a dime for the labor! Too often do females get taken advantage at auto repair shops because we supposedly do not know much about cars but Jeff was honest and did not push for additional services. I know for sure I'll be coming back to H&A for future repairs - plus the fact that he opens later than most shops is a win for me! P.S. As I told Jeff - he is the real deal. My friend, Dan, recommended this shop to me since he's been going for a while now. Jeff is not only is super informative but friendly and very inviting. I watched him interact with other customers and he treats everyone the same whether you're a regular or first time. Not to mention he was able to quickly help me with my tire (had a screw in it) and he didn't even charge me even though I insisted on paying. Hands down the greatest mechanic in OC. After giving dealerships chance after chance to offer straight forward (no BS) service, I decided to venture out and go to a private mechanic. H&A was at the top of every list, and for good reason. Jeff, the owner, and his associate Cory worked their magic on my 2010 Accord, which had a jacked up wheel bearing. It runs a whole lot smoother since taking it to them. There's still a lot that needs to be done with my car (since the dealerships never fixed a darn thing on it), so I'll definitely be back in business with H&A Auto soon enough. Reasonably priced, friendly, doesn't upsell, gives great advice, and honest. Jeff helped me out with my car. I cannot tell you how hard it is to find a trustworthy mechanic. I came in about 3 months ago thinking something was wrong with my coolant system. Jeff told me the plug had come loose, and tightened it as well as fixed some other minor stuff FOR FREE. He earned my business that day. today, I had a knocking in my engine. Jeff listened to it intently, and diagnosed a bad water pump by ear. It amazed me. I asked Jeff to throw some new spark plugs in the car too. Price was absolutely reasonable (380 for spark plugs, new water pump, installation and coolant). Jeff even gave my car a whole run down and told me some common intervals for stuff to be replaced. Corey and Jeff couldn't have been more helpful and responsive to my needs. I was coming from 2 hours away to test drive a used vehicle in Costa Mesa. After seeing their great Yelp reviews, I called to see if they'd be able to check out the car around 4 pm on Saturday. Unfortunately, I didn't even get to the car dealership until 4:15 pm. I arrived at H&A at 4:45 pm and they quickly went to work to identify how healthy the car was. They stayed well past their closing time of 5 pm just to make sure I was taken care of but did not rush the process and did a very thorough job inspecting the vehicle and giving me their professional opinions of what needed replacement (and how much life was left in those parts) as well as the pricing of what they would charge to fix theses few identified issues. I wanna give this place 10 stars if I could!! Jeff the owner was so nice and accommodating when I called him late on a Saturday afternoon asking if he could squeeze me in for a pre-purchase inspection of a used car (a Nissan, so not technically Jeff's specialty) that I was interested in buying that day. He explained to me that he was working a couple cars at the moment, but may be able to take a look if I give him a call back later. He also explained that Nissan was not his specialty but he would try to provide a general idea if I'm okay with it. When I called back at the pre-arranged time, which is already past the closing time posted online, Jeff was still willing to work on the car for me! When I got there, Jeff did a very thorough inspection of the car and shared every piece of information he found. He was very personable, professional, and honest, and I could not thank him enough for the things he taught me about this car and car inspection in general. When I asked him how much I owed him for the inspection, he simply waved his hand and said "zero, because that's my graduation gift to you" after he learned that I just graduated from med school. I couldn't believe my ears! I eventually pay this kind gentleman a hug. Jeff, thank you so much for everything you have done for me and my family today. We will definitely be back with our Toyota at home if it needs anything in the future. After running several diagnostics and finding the part that I needed for the repair, my driver side door is functioning as good as new. My car was acting up for a few days and I finally decided to take it in to get a chieck up. Did not make an appointment and just walked in. The guy was very nice and accomodated me right away even though I did not make an appt. He made me fill out some paper work and then asked me what was wrong with my car that I neeeded to get checked. After his diagnosis, he actaully walked me over to my car and pointed out some other things that may have been wrong with the car. He addressed my concern and told me what he would do to repair the issue. He also commented that if what he did did not resolve the problem, then he would try another way but that he would deduct what I paid on my first visit off for the second repair.
