He had a good idea of what might be wrong and invited me to bring the truck in for an assessment. After inspecting it, he identified damage (caused by rats) to the transmission wiring harness, which had unfortunately caused internal damage. He walked me through everything clearly and provided a very reasonable estimate for a full rebuild. Throughout the entire process, Ed was easy to communicate with, always professional, and genuinely helpful with his advice. What really stood out was how he went above and beyond after the repair. I was told this type damage might be covered under my comprehensive auto insurance. Ed then took the time to work directly with my insurance company--providing detailed documentation and expert insight. Because of his effort and experience, the claim was approved and the repair ended up being fully covered. That level of service is rare these days. I spent some time on Yelp reading reviews for several transmission shops before deciding to call Transmission Masters. One of the reasons I chose them was because they've been in business for more than 48 years and had consistently great reviews. I also like reading the one-star reviews because, let's be honest, you really can't please everyone. I just wanted to find an honest and trustworthy shop. I called and spoke with Ron right before closing time. He took the time to listen to everything I was experiencing, explained what he thought the issue could be, and told me to bring the van in the next morning. Their shop opens at 8:00 AM, but when I arrived around 7:45 AM, they were already there working on vehicles. When I walked in, Ron remembered our conversation from the previous day, which immediately made me feel comfortable. He scanned my van but didn't notice anything unusual. He reset my ECM and another setting, and thankfully that solved the problem. What impressed me the most was that Ron didn't charge me a dime for his time or help, even though I genuinely wanted to give him something for helping me out. In fact, they said they had to get the part from the dealer and it was non refundable if that wasn't the cause! A quick search brought me to Transmission Masters and after speaking with Ron I decided to have it towed to his shop. It was the right move! It turned out that the valve body needed to be cleaned and the check balls replaced. He completed the work in a few hours and charged me a heck of a lot less of what I was quoted. What an honest man! I walked in and they immediately greeted me, helped whoever was in line, and then came out with me to look at my tires. The gentleman who helped me looked at them and then explained that what I needed was new tires not a patch. My tires were so worn that he did not recommend me driving a long ways on them. I asked what the cost would be and he gave me three different quotes so that I could choose the one that best suited me. I recently had body work done on my car and was saddened when the gentleman let me know that a tire alignment was skipped. They replaced my tires within 2 hours (they drove and picked up my tires from another location) and did the tire alignment and they also made sure I was comfortable the whole time. I have a lot of appreciation for this place and you should too. I've been driving on the new tires for two weeks and my life is changed. Highly recommend for tires, alignments, tune ups, and everything in between. The mechanics also interact a lot with customers and seem pretty happy here (that's a good sign).

The specific person I spoke to was Charlie, who was very helpful. My problem was my 2012 Volks EOS, it would burn through oil and randomly empty its oil pan on the ground every 2-3 weeks. I brought it here and they idled the car for a while to replicate my issue with no success. They then took a look at the bottom and found an issue with one of the screws for the oil pan. He recommended that I go back to the shop that did it to avoid charging me an unnecessary fee. Unfortunately, the problem persists, I bring it back. Charlie actually recommended that I take it to a euro car shop instead to diagnose my specific issue. The shop has the most experience in more generic, asian cars (Honda, Toyota, etc). I am very grateful for the unpaid time the crew put into trying to diagnose my car and the full transparency they gave me. Everyone was working to save my money instead of trying to spend my money. As a woman who definitely looks like they've never touched a car, that is very rare and very appreciated.
