My request went through the Yelp Project page first and Jose was very fast with his response. He told me I could come in on a Friday morning as a walk in. Gino who took care of my intake was very friendly and made me feel welcome. They also had a comfy waiting area stocked with complimentary coffee and snacks, but I didn't need to wait long because I was out of there within an hour, oil changed and tires rotated. Their prices are fair and they accept both credit card and cash/Zelle (if you want to avoid the 3% credit card surcharge). During the oil change they also noted some things that will need repair, but weren't pushy with their recommendations. Today I learned that there are many panels which are removed during a transmission fluid change and that they are secured with plastic clips. The plastic clips do not fail when properly installed. At the shop today, I saw the panels under my Prius. I took these photos at home after my visit and learned more about cars. The panel A in the photo was not secured. It came loose while we were driving. An adjacent panel was missing one clip, and it held the other panel in place. The hand is pressing down the adjacent panel. I have gotten to know this shop, the mechanics and owner well in the last 6 months, as Im restoring my Toyota Truck. There are 2 reasons I keep coming back. Honesty and Integrity. Let me give you an example. I requested a complete brake job front and rear. The price was very fair to start with. Jose the owner called me and said the rear brakes were in pretty good shape and only required cleaning and adjustment. ( Other shops would have just done the unnecessary work and charged me). Secondly, the front rotors are within the last limits of spec, yet still turnable ( Other shops would have said the rotors were done and charged me for new ones). The work they do is top notch. Outstanding communications as well as the service that was completed. I did my research before going to yelp to understand what it will take to do my project. After getting multiple estimates, it was very easy to select orange empire and Jose. I received an estimate of five times higher than what Jose was estimating for my job. After looking at multiple businesses between four times, three times, two times what Jose had quoted me it was very easy to see where to go. And yes, I understand that a lowball estimate might be easy for anyone to do, but based on all of the previous reviews, this was a very simple choice. When I arrived, I met with Jose. The shop was very clean neat and organized. I was able to sit and wait while my repair was done given that it was a very small job but again Jose did not reject me because of a small project. So the funny thing was even after I was completing the transaction, the original estimate was a little bit higher than what I was actually invoiced-which I was not expecting.
