I have been going to this shop for about a year now, and each time I've been there I've never had an issue. I've have gotten to know the shop manager there Matt, and I've personally watched him run his office and see how cares for the customers that come in. All the issues that I had with my 2012 Nissan Altima have been addressed and still have more work to be done. I will definitely be bringing my car back here as I don't trust many mechanics to begin with. I've read some of the negative reviews and all I can say is not everyone can be pleased, we all have different opinions and personalities and sometimes things just don't work out. I've never had that experience there and Matt has always been straight up honest and forward about the work he's done and has made sure I understand the process. It's my car's time of year again .. oil change! Parking: They have a small parking lot with limited parking spots. There were no spots when I arrived, so I just parked in front of the shop. Ambiance/Environment: The inside is small with a waiting area and a coffee station in the corner. The couch and chairs are comfortable and clean. There were consistent customers coming in n out for a weekday. Service: I called the shop before coming in to inquire about same day walk ups. Manny answered the phone, and he mentioned they were able to accommodate walk ups. When I arrived, he was also the same person that checked me in. He was nice and efficient. Majority of their workers speak Spanish and English. They offer complimentary shuttle services. Though, I couldn't take advantage of this service bc their driver was on lunch. My car needed a full synthetic oil change. If you have a coupon, make sure to present it at check-in. The coupon I had was for an oil change starting at $39.90. It cost $79 after taxes for my oil change; which is about average price nowadays. Since I couldn't use their complimentary shuttle services, I decided to wait there. As a woman of a certain age (old) I've had issues with being taken advantage of or treated like I didn't know anything about cars, Expertec is NOT that kind of experience. From the moment you arrive you're treated friendly and welcoming. The staff is professional, the shop is spotless and the work I needed was actually less I had anticipated . There was a light that came on on my dash, I thought it was going to be something major. Turns out it was simply a small fuel sensor that needed replacing. They could have told me I needed work done I didn't need but they didn't, they were honest, fair with the price and I respect and appreciate that. Matthew is a great guy. I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel obligated to share my experience so others can make an informed decision. I initially brought my Subaru here after my battery died and I needed a jump-start. I asked the shop to diagnose why the battery had died and why the car was having trouble starting. I was told that the alternator was not producing enough voltage and needed to be replaced. I take responsibility for not getting a second opinion and trusting their recommendation. That decision cost me approximately $800. Unfortunately, about a week later, the same issue that originally brought me into the shop returned. My car began sputtering again. I was then told that the battery was leaking and had corrosion, and they recommended replacing both the battery and the starter. Because the battery was still under warranty, I had it replaced. However, I refused to authorize the starter replacement until I could get another opinion. I then took the vehicle to another mechanic who was recommended by someone I trust. After testing the Subaru, he told me there was no resistance showing in the starter, despite this shop previously telling me there was. He also believed the battery drainage was most likely connected to the vehicle's telematics system and told me the alternator did not appear to have been the original cause of the problem. I understand that vehicle diagnostics are not always simple, but after spending $800 and having the exact same problem return almost immediately, I completely lost confidence in this shop's diagnosis and recommendations. My advice is simple: when a repair is expensive, the diagnosis is uncertain, or the problem is specific to your make and model, please get a second opinion before approving the work. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this business for complicated repairs. I might consider them for something basic like an oil change, but nothing beyond that. Now, how in the world would I know that a transmission is not getting up to temperature... The temperature gauge on the dash which would stay at zero is engine temperature not transmission temperature... That's the one I see and that's the one I could communicate as not getting a reading, especially since the radiator fan was on all the time...not sure how that was not obvious to anyone. read more

Absolute rip-off. Took my car here for a check engine light diagnostic ($165), and they handed me a predatory estimate for nearly $4,900. They tried to act like the car needed thousands of dollars in massive repairs for what is essentially basic maintenance and a few minor issues. They completely marked up absolutely everything on the list--charging double the retail price for parts like the oil separator and secondary air pump just to pad the bill. I literally took the car to an actual Audi dealership right after, and the dealership quoted me WAY less for the exact same work. When a certified luxury dealership is significantly cheaper than an independent shop, you know this place is actively trying to scam you. Total price gouging. Avoid this shop at all costs. read more

I came in for an overdue oil change. I was having trouble with my schedule so I ended up speaking with Gerald and Matthew, who were both excellent communicators and eager to make it work. Just got a text it is time for service but I want to say that in the past Matt recommended my brake fluid be replaced for my car is a 1999. I've been here 3 times so far and brought 2 different cars and my experience so far has been nothing short of fantastic! They provide all the typical amenities that you expect from a top tier repair shop. Quality and friendly service, a ride to where you need to go if you're nearby, a loaner car, 3 year / 36k mile warranty, they stand behind their work, affordable prices, clean waiting area, you name it they most likely got it. Some personal experiences that have really stood out for me. On one of my cars I asked about tires and wanted to get tires that would give me a quiet ride. I basically handed them an opportunity to sell me more expensive tires and Matt still steered me towards a less expensive tire but still comparable in performance, letting me know the price difference isn't worth the difference in performance. And so far, I've been really happy with that. They could have easily up-sold me a set of tires double the price, but didn't, helping me save money. In another occasion, I've brought another car to get the brakes done, they still weren't as I expected, they took the car back, replaced the brakes since they were under warranty and found the issue and everything is as good as I remembered them to be. So it turns out that honest mechanics do exist! Well, at least one... Matthew at Expertec was very clear and up front with all the possibilities that could cause the issue my car was having, and made educated and reasonable suggestions on how to economically and efficiently remedy the problem. He took the time to really dig into his resources to make sure he was approaching my car's problem from the best angle. In the end, my car was repaired at a small fraction of the quote given to me by another mechanic, and it was done in half the time! I came to this already knowing what's wrong with my car. Manny was nice enough to help me out. I spoke with Manny and I told him it's a possibility it's the water pump or a pulley. He told me they will call me to after they diagnose the problem.
