BEFORE GOING HERE PLEASE READ: SHORT VERSION: They jammed my turbo with a screwdriver and destroyed it and returned it to me acting as if nothing happened. And lied about least getting me a used turbo. A few months ago I took my 2018 for focus RS here for some electrical diagnostics. ONLY diagnostics. Background: I was having issues with the O2 sensor giving a random voltage and took it to many mechanics who have changed the sensor many times. Having taken it here, just based on their "good reviews" I wanted to see if there were l was an issue perhaps in the harness. They took my car and as I was trying to explain prior diag I had done, they brushed it off and tried to get me going. Forward to a few days later and I finally get a response saying they wanted to do further diagnostics and needed to move parts as the engine bay was fairly tight. Fast forward a free days they were unable to find anything and were rushing for me to pay and leave with the car. Immediately the car sounds funny, and they said "might be a boost leak" wasn't leaking before, so why would you all just fix it then... I ended up taking to a proper shop and that's when they had found a screw driver jammed into the turbine and destroyed my recently rebuilt turbo. I immediately go to their shop and demand they pay for the repair, because obviously. The owner comes to talk to me like some sketchy sales man and say "tell you what you remind me of my son, and I feel bad for you ... Even though it wasn't our fault I will find you a used turbo." My new turbo... And you want to give me a used one? After some back and forth and more frustration I asked to simply be paid the price for what a used one would cost which he says shouldn't be more than $300, he refuses says he'll find one. A bit late making this review, but I definitely recommend this shop to anyone with a parasitic battery drain! For a few years, my 2010 Camaro's batter was dying if I didn't drive it for 2-3 days. Countless batteries were bought and even resorted to jump starting it every time. Even went as far AR buying an AGM battery, but still had issues. A quick Yelp search led me here and I was asked to bring the car in the next morning. Got a call shortly after that they found the issue: the darn radio was draining the battery! They showed me the readings and showed me which fuse to pull until I could get a stereo shop to address the issue. Wow, where do I start... About two months ago I bought a 66 Ford Fairlane... It's a cool car, 427 side oiler... I really like it. I bought some super cool mufflers. They have electronic valves built-in, because the thing is so loud and I wanted to be able to quiet it down when I wanted it quiet...I took it to my trusted muffler shop and had them install the mufflers. I took it over to Al's to have them finish up the wiring and install the controller. For the electronic valves, I spoke to Nick who is super chill and he recommended I talk to Richard because he is the one that works on the classic cars. I called back and talked to Richard and made an appointment to bring it in and they took care of everything and the price was absolutely competitive... FlashForward a couple of weeks and my car won't start. I do everything I can do... Try swapping out the MSD box... Different coil... Checking grounds I give up, so I take it back into Richard and he and his son jumped on it. It was actually pretty cool watching them... They are a pretty synchronized team, checking wires and grounds and what goes where etc. it was impressive to watch them work. Well, I had to go to work so I left Got the call just a few minutes ago it's already to go. It was in fact my MSD box so now it's all good and I'm gonna go pick it up shortly... WOW! Nothing but great words for this mans work! Took in a 97 corolla with several electrical problems. Break lights didnt work regardless of a new bulb, couldnt take it out of park without pressing the emergency release, wipers, radio, charger,radiator didnt turn on, and I had a battery drain! My car died if I didnt drive it for more than a day. I was skeptical of bothering to fix it becuase I imagined a bill over $1000 for this kind of work. But luckily I came here!! If I could I would not give a star at all but I had to! Dishonest service!! Please be aware. After reading reviews about Al's Electrical Service, I only wish I had a good experience like these others. My truck was taken here for service and when I got it back, I could tell one of my headlamps were switched. I had new headlamps put on my truck and when I got it back one was yellow and discolored while the other was the brand new headlamp. When questioned about it, the owner said he didn't touch it. WOW!! I was having trouble with the rear window on my 1984 Suburban, it would go down however it would not always close. I don't remember if it was Jason or Richard that worked on the window. He seemed to know exactly what the problem was, he lowered the window, took apart the end gate coverings, reached in and popped a wire connection. The problem was a lock out safety switch. Richard and his son Jason are the best people around to work on your ride. They will look at your car and if its an easy fix, they'll handle on the spot. I've taken both American and European cars there and they have always done a flawless job on all occasions. I've never had to take my car back for follow up repairs and they always stand behind their work. They told me that with the age of the car I should get all new brakes, rotors, and sensors but when they got to work, they only needed to do the front, and ended up saving me money after it was said and done.
