Absolutely delicious from start to finish. The soup, appetizers, and main dish were all phenomenal. A giant platter came out with various deliciously cooked meats on a bed of rice, and it was enough food for 20 people. Can't wait to go back. read more

I've been twice solely for lamb. I've been on a pescatarian diet and just added lamb back for iron sake. Their lamb is tender and tasty. I'm not sure why they serve it with most rice. I also had their chopped lamb that comes as a stew, I was so displeased, that I'm now back on the fence about meat all together. There was so much fat pieces chopped in my stew, I was really disappointed. read more

Jacob and I were famished after driving home from Kalamazoo. I thought it'd be fun to try a new place in Dearborn to switch things up. Sheeba came up first in a Yelp search, so off we went. The space is beautiful! Definitely nicer than you'd imagine from the outside. We were greeted promptly and given our choice of tables. There are mostly 4-tops in the space, but they can easily be moved to accommodate groups. It's a bummer there are no booths, as it's the type of environment where you'd enjoy extra privacy. The server was very cordial and gave us recommendations after learning it was our first visit. We went with their most popular dish, lamb hanneeth (marinated lamb with spices, served with basmati rice) with fattoush salad and a side of their fresh-baked (delightfully crisp) pita bread. The fattoush and bread (plus garlic!) came out pretty quickly. I thought the fattoush dressing could use a bit more lemon, as it was a bit muted compared to most other restaurants. The bread was served fresh out of the clay oven and the toum was deathly garlicy. Our entree came out soon after. It's laughable how tender the lamb was! There was a bit of fat, so if that turns you off, maybe skip this dish. I personally don't mind it, but the husband freaks out if a piece of fat makes its way into his mouth. The seasoning on the lamb was not as bold as I would have liked, but it was delicious nonetheless. We both also loved the colorful basmati rice. The portion size was perfect for us to share and I even had leftovers for lunch the next day. The service was a touch slow for us being the only table the server had. That's really my only critique (but it's an important one). Maybe check on the tables once more, and be a little quicker to bring the check. We also noticed the other table in the room got coffee and hot towels from their server; it would have been nice if our server had asked us if we were interested. I'd definitely visit Sheeba again. I'm excited to work my way through their delicious menu! read more

This place was pretty great, flavorful dishes, quick and attentful service, fair prices. We had the Lamb Haneeth and it was incredible, chared and crusty on the outside and very juicy and tender on the inside. Exactly how it's supposed to be! The tanoor bread was also a treat and reminded us of the best breads from our county. Only complaint us that the menu could've been more diverse and they ambiance needs a little work. But overall a good experience. read more

Omg, this food was so good! No my chicken isn't burnt... just baked to perfection! I really liked the rice made with saffron as as oppose to tumeric. The sauce, which reminds me of salsa that is blended a bit more, added another level of flavor. That was great as well. And that bread tho! Omgosh! Will I go back? Of course. Best mid eastern food in Dearborn. Lamb is a must have- tender & juicy!!! The one looks like a hotpot tastes super good too. That goes with the pita( maybe there's another way to say that). The pita per se is fantastic! I recommend friends share everything. The portions are big and various selections make a better experience. read more

I always passed by this restaurant and assumed it was just another branch of the Hamtramck restaurant of the same name. One day I decided to go in and order and WOW! Although the menu items are very similar (if not the same), the food was a hella lot better! I'm not a fan of Gallaba but I can definitely say I am when it comes to this place! The Chicken Fahsah is also great, but I'd still opt for the Gallaba. read more

Chicken Haneeth here will not disappoint. Get the half portion unless you want to have enough food to feed your whole family for a week. This place was an awesome and authentic place right downtown Dearborn. 5/5 would definitely return. I came in here after looking randomly for a place to eat and wanting to try something new. Sheeba had good reviews and was close so I decided to give it a shot. Walking in I was greeted by about five or six wait staff members. All super nice. The parking lot and the restaurant were packed. Handing me a menu, I made my choice. No sooner did I sit down and snap a few pictures of the place then my food was ready. The bag was heavy, and I remember that the girl at the counter tried to upsell me on the full. Real glad I stayed with the half. So I'm not entirely sure what spice it was that had both a flowery and spicy taste to it, but the rice was amazing. The chicken was a huge portion, and for a little over 10 bucks, well worth it. While I did not have a sit down experience here--very very satisfied. This place gets 5/5 because: 1: service was fast and immediate. The place was packed and there was still no shortage of helping hands. 2: super nice staff. 3: the food was delicious. I cannot overstate this enough. 4: portion was huge. Came with salad. If it's just you--get the half. 5: while I didn't have a sit down experience here the restaurant was well maintained, clean, and was packed. A good sign of a healthy restaurant. read more

I thought I am going go for a Yamani food. I have had Yamani cousin quite a few times. this place says Yamani food but more of a normal Mediterranean restaurant, the dishes were very Bland, the Bread (naan) is too much roasted. so we order Foul, Fassolia, some bread and Falafel. Foul and Fassolia, both were super bland and the beans were definitely old. Falafel, by far the worst I have ever had, I have had falafel from at least 100 other places. The staff was friendly but slow. The place was well maintained and clean. with decent decoration. They have private room for "Family", i.e. if you were accompanied by a woman. sorry for the bad review guys. but just dint cut it for me. read more

This is my definitely favorite Middle East food restaurant around. This time we came around the busy dinner hour 6:30pm, but we got seated fairly quickly. We ordered the Sheeba for 4 for our party of 5, which was more than enough of food! My family kept saying how good the food was even after we went home. I didn't usually even like lamb but I loved how they cooked in and it was so delish! Lots of things came with the Sheeba for 4, including the bread, stew, salad or soup, lamb, chicken, rice, and some veggies. I gotta say this place is highly recommended! Definitely will come back and try something new. read more

Food is AMAZING but the costumer service is horrible. I literally would tip them a lot if they were respectful. Every time me and my family go they send someone so rude and try and tell us that we can't get bread because u have to order a specific plate for bread to come with but we always order the same thing and get bread with and guy rolled his eye at us for asking for napkins. They usually use hot towels after you eat but the guy got them cold. It's alot of stuff that happened. For sure wouldn't dine there again sadly read more

I loved the ambiance and consideration they showed towards customers by giving them warm towels. It's a bit "extra," but I loved it. Great food, amazing service. I'd come again to try more things off the menu. read more

Quite likely the worst meal I can remember having. Chicken shawarma was dry and tasteless. Other family member meals were adequate. I also thought it was extremely overpriced. The atmosphere was awful. One huge echo y space with everyone shoved in a line of booths against the one wall. And the service was pretty bad too. It took a while to establish that vegetarian might be vegan. Used empty bowls and water jugs were left on the table while an abundance of wait staff did next to nothing. Not a pleasant experience. Will never go back. read more

Portions were large and everything tasted great. Service was great as well. The description of the dishes can be a little more thorough or they could add more pictures to the menu to help new comers to Yemeni cuisine. Can't wait to visit their newer location in West Dearborn. read more

Wow! The food is outstanding. We had a plate full of homemade hummus accompanied by freshly baked, hot pita the size of a small child. Then I had the lamb soup. It's basically a warm lamb broth, there are no actual pieces of lamb (or anything else) in it. At $2.50, it's worth it! Last, I had the lamb entree on the bone with rice and a couple of small pieces of zucchini and potatoes. The lamb itself was a very generous portion. Most importantly, it was perfectly cooked to a tender, fall off the bone perfection. The rice was basmati. Cooked fine. Nothing amazing. The lamb obviously makes the dish. At $19, it's the most expensive item on the menu but well worth it. I was disappointed that they said that they did not offer lunch specials (I was there at noon on a Monday and read from earlier reviews about lunch specials). Parking is free and easy in their lot. Service is fast and attentive. read more

HUGE PORTIONS. small price. Those are the two major takeaways. Not to mention excellent service, fantastic food, and a great atmosphere. It's conveniently located 15 min from Detroit Metro Airport so it's the perfect place to eat before or after a flight. Go to Shatila after for dessert. You won't be disappointed! Come HUNGRY and still be prepared to take home leftovers. One of the few places that could live up to the hype! I got the half chicken and it was melt in your mouth tender. We are very fortunate in the Metro Detroit area to have great Middle Eastern food. That genre itself encompasses a diverse group of food. Sheeba is Yemini cuisine at its finest. If you enjoy lamb, the Lamb Haneeth is simply amazing. It is a must try. I savored every bite of the very tender and well flavored lamb. Every bite. The more stew-like lamb agadah was also great. Be sure to order the tandoor bread. Best $1 I've ever spent. The restaurant also serves the more traditional fare of chicken shawarma, hummus and the like which are also very good. But I encourage you to branch out and try the Yemini dishes. You will. It be disappointed. read more

I was really happy that this place delivered, because as someone who travels to Detroit for work, I don't have access to a car and unfortunately can't visit Dearborn. I ordered the lamb haneeth via Doordash, and this meal was super good. The lamb was well seasoned and really warm for traveling so far, and came with a side of soup and rice that was a perfect pairing with the lamb. If it was closer, I would make this my dinner place more regularly. I wish we had one of these in Chicago, since I would definitely go out of my way to have this meal. read more

I just noticed that I never got around to reviewing Sheeba. Quite an oversight! I am a fan of all kinds of food but had never been to a place that billed itself as Yemeni before, so I was excited to try Sheeba. The menu has some Mediterranean items that would be familiar to those who have been dining out in Dearborn for quite some time... shawarma, tawook, kafta, kabob. I have visited with friends who ordered these and they were tender and had a slightly different take on the spices from other places. But I love to try what truly makes a restaurant unique, and the traditional Yemeni dishes are one-of-a-kind from my experience. The star of the menu is the Fahsah, in my opinion - lamb and potato "stew" style served in a bubbling clay pot. It comes with a bit of a hot sauce that can be added, and fresh bread to dip and eat. I can't explain the flavors and have nothing to compare it to - this dish is out-of-this-world delicious and unique, with quite a few strong flavors. The lentil soup is fantastic. To be 100% honest, I thought the lamb soup was watery and had little flavor - but since it's an optional alternative to the delicious lentil soup it doesn't bother me enough to ding the restaurant as a whole. Service is also a delight - I have always gotten the impression that they are truly excited and honored to share their food and culture with all their guests, as opposed to some other places that seem to be going through the motions. The building has also been vastly improved from its Thai Palace III days - the nasty smell and leaky roof that was evidence of their poorly managed predecessor are all gone. The place is immaculate, fresh, and vibrantly decorated. This isn't just a quick lunch spot - it's a great ambiance for a nice dinner as well. read more

I had high expectations for this restaurant as I heard it served good food. However, the service is extremely in professional. They made us wait 20 minutes to get a menu and then we never received our plates and water until we went over and asked. The server came to take our order after one hour of us being there and completely messed it up. We ended up leaving after waiting there for 2 hours and receiving none of the food dishes that we ordered. We are not going back there again because that was unbelievable and unprofessional. read more

We eat a lot of Lebanese food and trying to branch out to Yemeni food. The last Yemeni restaurant we tried was just ok and the portion was poor. We took a chance to try Sheeba this time. We bought Lamb Haneeth with Mandi rice and Lamb Zorbian. Great portions! Both dishes were so yummy but I think the lamb Haneeth won by a slight margin with the huge tender lamb and the moorish rice. The dishes came with little pots of spicy tomatoes like salsa and the salad was fresh and tasty too. Can't wait to return and try more things on the menu. read more

This is THE place to go for Yemeni food. We were on the search for amazing lamb and we found it. For our first visit, we got the lamb haneeth and the lamb fahsah (yes, we wanted lamb!). The lamb haneeth is slow roasted and soooo fork tender; it just falls off the bone. It is usually served with some basmati rice and a side of potatoes and other vegetables. The seasoning is perfect. Another dish we absolutely love is the lamb fahsah. This is a claypot lamb dish filled with mashed potatoes. Almost felt like pure comfort food. It came out piping hot, just bubbling like crazy. Grab some of their bread and dip it into the pot, you taste all the amazing spices that go into this dish. Absolutely divine! If you don't want to have two meat (lamb) dishes, try the other claypot vegetarian dishes. We've tried them all! Sadly, minus one star. We always get the lamb haneeth. And because we've been here a few times, it was disappointing that the amount of lamb we get is sometimes inconsistent. I'm sure they make a giant roasted lamb everyday and just takes pieces off of it, so we must have gotten a bad piece during some of our visits as compared with our first time, we didn't get as much meat. We got a huge shank our first visit and that set the bar pretty high. The next time we go, we'll definitely try other dishes. Service is sometimes a hit and miss on certain days. We aren't always greeted by the door, or have a hostess/host take us to our table. Service is a little slow at times as well. But at the end of the day, we can't get enough of the lamb haneeth. And we will always be going back for more. read more

Bread is terrible. If you want the good bread, you pay $1 more. My salad came with additional hair, not the most appealing. Hummus tastes like play-doh. We waited 25 minutes to put in our order... now 45 minutes in, only 3 out of 5 have their food. Server looks helpful but overwhelmed. Be careful if you come here for lunch. Fries are good. I ate and ate and ate. The food was plentiful and delicious. I would eat here again on any day.

From my picture you can probably tell I'm Asian, but I've been working in the area for 4 years now, so I've been to most of the good Middle Eastern places. This is Yemeni cuisine, a bit different from the other places where you might just get schwarma. This place is ridiculous - it is now my go-to place I bring all out of town guests. I've probably been here at least 6x now. Two words - Lamb Haneeth. If you like meat at all, get this (or the chicken version) as the entree portion. It feeds 2-3 people. To feed another 1-2 people, add a Fasah (lamb stew) or Seltah (root veggie stew)- super hot stews in a clay pot with really deep flavor, served with a bread. Get extra bread, because their bread is amazingly soft, warm flakely - and only $1 to get extra!!. With those two dishes, you're at like $30 and you've fed at least 4 hungry people, 5 normal appetites. The saffron rice is different from other yellow rice, it's amazingly tasty for some reason. I'm not sure why but everyone I bring here comments on it. I need to try other dishes but I keep getting the same ones because they're so good! read more

The food here was AMAZING. I've eaten at a ton of Middle Eastern restaurants in the Metro Detroit and Dearborn areas and it's certainly boasts the best in the country, but this restaurant is definitely at the top of my list-- if not the best! This is specifically a Yemeni restaurant, so unlike many other Middle Eastern cuisines which are often drier, this food is not so dry. I highly recommend the Fahsah which is like a thicker soup with lamb and is so good with the perfect flavors. We also got a big platter with rice and different meats and veggies which was so good and flavorful as well. The food isn't spicy but it has the perfect amount of spices for great flavor. We got lamb haneeth in the platter which is also something I recommend. The only negative thing I have to say is that the hummus wasn't my favorite. It ran more dry and the flavor was different than other Middle Eastern restaraunts I've eaten at. Overall, AMAZING food and good wait staff as well! read more
