I needed an interior dividing wall to split up my 3-car garage into a 2-car garage and a space for my woodworking shop. Besides constructing the wall, I needed more power outlets, rewiring of the overhead lights, addition of more ceiling lights, addition of a door, and 18" holes in the exterior walls for exhaust fans. Earlier this month SheCan2 completed a renovation of a room above my garage. It was an unusual project, a structure created by a prior owner to house a telescope with its cement base in the the garage below. The structure had become very dilapidated, the window glass long gone and the frames falling apart so that the elements were taking their toll on the interior, the exterior siding flaking and rotting in some areas. It was a close call whether to opt for renovation or demolition. I am very glad SHEcan2 was willing to take it on because in a much shorter amount of time than I imagined possible they restored it to a functional space for office or gym that is not only structurally sound but also very attractive inside and out. I've worked with SheCan2 on our kitchen upgrade project and two bathroom remodels. Kim was my contact and absolutely wonderful to work with. She helped with all my design questions and concerns. My new-build kitchen did not originally have a backsplash so SheCan2 came to install tile and change out the kitchen plumbing hardware. Everything they did was meticulous! Then the team came back for our bathrooms, which included re-tiling, adding specialty niches, and Kim helped me with a custom floor pan. We also had the vanities fully replaced, tile extended, and new toilets and exhaust fans installed. Again, a meticulous and thoughtful job. And worth noting, Steve did the bath work and left the space fully organized and clean at the end of each day. That was impressive. I hired the group at SheCan2 to do a remodel of a mud room and replace my deck (about 12,000 dollar job). They did a great job and finished the job very close to the original estimate. The only difference was due to some repairs needed due to termite damage discovered during the remodel. They were very clear about when they would or would not be there. I don't know where to begin. I have dealt with many contractors, but SheCan2 needs a category of their own. Kim, Terri and Steve are responsive and proactive, which is unheard of in this industry. SheCan2 installed two toilets and a shower surround for me 11 months ago. I contacted them yesterday evening regarding one of the toilets leaking and they responded in 5 minutes stating they could be there the following morning. They showed up on time and discovered the toilet bowel had cracked, secondary to a manufacturer's defect. Being the awesome contractor that they are they replaced the leaking toilet with a new one and dealt with the faulty toilet manufacturer, so I didn't have to deal with the hassle. I know I am using a lot of superlatives, but they are needed to express my experience with this contractor. If you want a contractor who is honest, does good work, is responsive as well as backs up their work then I highly recommend SheCan2. read more

It breaks my heart to leave a bad review for a small, woman-owned business but I cannot just pretend that my experience didn't happen. In March of 2013, my husband and I hired Terri's company to do a small list of repairs around a home we had just purchased. We know squat about construction work and we relied heavily on the inspect reports as a guide for hiring SheCan2 to do the work. For example, small areas of dry rot were found in various areas around the outside of the home and, as it stats in the inspection report, we hired SheCan2 to "remove and replace" the boards in those areas to eliminate the dry rot. I know that dry rot can be treated, but we wanted to follow the recommendations of the inspection report and that's what we told SheCan2. Their own invoice states "removed and replaced" the affected boards. At the time, we were pretty happy with the work they'd completed for us. There was an issue with an electrical cable being cut through, which we found out when we went to get our cable installed, however Terri & Co. addressed the issue quickly and everything was great! Fast forward to January of this year. My husband and I had another home inspection completed because we plan to sell our home later this year and come to find FIVE (5) items that we'd paid SheCan2 to address in 2013 popped up on the new inspection report. Three of those items were the dry rot areas that we'd paid them to "remove and replace" the boards on. Turns out, those areas were not removed and replaced, but rather treated at the time of hire. I contacted Terri to have these concerns addressed and she was very quick to respond and had a worker out within a week to readdress every single item, and even one item that we had not paid them to address the first time. We were happy again! However, after inspecting the work completed, the areas where we paid them to remove and replace the boards due to dry rot were only treated yet again! You can clearly tell that the boards that are there are the same boards and you can see brand new caulking/bondo material in and around the affected areas. As well, Terri is now completed unresponsive to me and I have heard nothing from them since February 4th, despite emailing multiple times. To be clear, I don't care that they treated the area vs. removing and replacing the boards, if that takes care of the dry rot issues, I'm fine with that! What I care about is that we hired them to remove and replace per the inspection report, their own invoice states that the work the completed was to "remove and replace" the boards, and that's what they charged us for but in the end all they did was treat the areas. Just be honest with me and charge me accordingly. I really wish we'd had a better experience with this company. As a feminist, I love supporting women owned businesses (especially construction businesses), but you still have to be professional, honest, and communicative with your customers. They will not be getting any more business from me or anyone I know. read more

In short notice we needed someone to make an access to our house's crawling space so we called SheCan2 and we got a message saying that they were on vacation until the day before but a few minutes later we got a call from Terri saying that they could come help us within 2 hours that same day. Terri called one more time to let us know that her assistant was running a little late but that he would be there for the job for sure. I have hired SheCan2 for 2 projects working on a historic Victorian. The first was a combination of several projects including replacement of a window/various dry rot repairs/minor electrical work. All of the work was done well, on time, and on budget. When I had a staircase that needed repair on the same property, SheCan2 was the only business I called. It took a while to get plans approved by the city, but once that hurdle was cleared, the new stairs were up in a flash. Terri can be a little hard to reach by phone sometimes (the only reason I knocked off a star), but she is pretty good about responding to emails in a reasonable time. read more
