We came across Rose Remodeling via Nextdoor, when a neighbor posted about a bathroom remodel they'd had done. We liked what we saw and called for a proposal. The initial consult was professionally conducted, and we were happy to sign right then and there to get things moving. Everything, start to finish, went like clockwork. Communication was good, cleanliness was maintained from demo to last touches, and the employees were top of the line in their professionalism. We had Aleksei Alaev do the construction and installation work and he was just the best. Handled everything really well, and his work is top shelf. Clean lines everywhere, nothing rushed or half-done. Highly recommend anyone thinking of a bathroom remodel - call Rose! Edited to add photograph and also add that we did the painting ourselves, after Rose's team were done. So any imperfections in the paint are on us! LOL PS: We call this room the Bath Cave because it was built into one part of a framed in porch on our very old (1890) house. The window is just for light and will be covered with a privacy film too. read more

Rose Remodeling - The Bath Cave! - General Contractors Near Me - Elk Grove, California

A few years ago, I chose Rose Remodeling to do a full remodel of my primary bathroom. I was so traumatized by the nightmare experience that I couldn't bring myself to write a review, even though I felt prospective customers should hear from all sides, including those with horrible experiences. I got duped by the rosy reviews, not realizing those high ratings weren't necessarily representative of all their clients. Their bid was far higher than other contractors', but I mistakenly believed a higher price meant higher quality, and the sales rep, Justice, was very nice, so I chose this company. However, once the contract was signed, my bathroom was assigned to a project manager who seemed primarily focused on making sure I paid at each stage of the remodel. To my surprise, he never once stepped into my house to check the work. Rose Remodeling advertised itself as family-run, so I thought they would be involved in the work or at least oversee it closely. Boy, was I wrong. They subcontract to people who spoke limited English, so I couldn't communicate with them properly. To make matters worse, they let a trainee do most of the grout work on my shower wall, floor, and wainscoting. The grout lines were bumpy and uneven, with bubbles and cracks. When I complained, the project manager pointed out that grout lines are never perfect, implying I was the problem and a perfectionist, when 99% of the work was so bad that an average DIYer could have done better. I was forced to monitor the so-called subcontractors and contact the project manager (via phone or email because he never once came to the job site or meet me in person) again and again to redo sections. They never reviewed all their work and simply fixed everything. Each time, they only fixed the specific spot I marked with painter's tape. It felt like they were always trying to get away with shoddy work. I had to point out every grossly flawed detail for them to fix that one detail. They simply didn't want to do the right thing, which was to deliver quality work. It was such a hassle working with them. Another example: my mirror was higher on one side, and I had to fight with them to redo it multiple times until it looked level. These are just a few examples of the struggles. A week after I paid in full and began walking on the new tile floor, cracks started showing up immediately. I was so distraught after exhausting all my energy getting other parts of the remodel up to par that I just couldn't deal with them. It took a year, and a friend's help confronting them, before I finally got them to fix more grout issues. A year later, I finally met a competent contractor at their office, who came to my house the next day to inspect my issues. He was shocked at the lack of quality in my job, and for the first time, I got an apology and an acknowledgment of the nightmare I'd lived through. (The original project manager, Graham, never apologized for the problems and never took the time to supervise the subcontractors. Apparently, it was my job if I didn't want crappy workmanship.) In summary, if you want to pay extra high price to gamble on Rose Remodeling, you may get lucky and be assigned a better subcontractor and better project manager or you may end up with ones like those assigned to my bathroom. In the end they did finally fix most things but i should not have paid a high price to suffer this nightmare remodel. Ps I have too many photos to post but this is example of the workmanship they tried to dump on me. read more

Rose Remodeling - one example of what i had to make them fix - General Contractors Near Me - Elk Grove, California

Super disappointed to leave this review but this company did exactly what I told them face to face at the home show - I didn't like about other companies I've recently experienced- they come out, take measurements, sell you on what they offer and then ghost you! Would not recommend Rose Remodeling - we met with this company at the Home show and set up an appointment- the sales rep (Eric) came out on the 4th in the evening, took measurements, we went over what we wanted and he said he would get us an estimate - haven't heard a peep - don't waste your time as they will waste yours and not communicate - he also kept saying "this is going to be expensive" without even knowing our budget. My husband was concerned that the sales guy didnt act like he knew what he was doing when talking through what we wanted, measuring - then we sat our our table for 15 minutes while he scrolled home depot site showing us shower heads -- I told him he could just send us something as I was losing patience -- so he said he would send us an estimate and left - that was 10 days ago - not an email saying working on it, not a can't do it -- nothing. I appreciate small businesses and want to support them but not to my time and expense. I also understand (from my past experince being a home show participant) that there may be an influx of sales calls, etc..however that is not an excuse for zero communcations after an inperson sales meeting. Poor leadership, sales and attention to detail which unfortunately for the team doing the work could cause more problems. Recommend to owners to be honest - if your sales team doesn't want to do the work or can't - just say so - don't say you're going to do something and never deliver!!! Also, why waste your money at the home show if this is how your sales team operates? If they don't communicate before the project, imagine the lack of communication during the project!!! RED FLAGS! I'm leaving two stars as the sales rep did provide a good picture of work Rose has done in the past that now I can use to show other companies what I want. read more

Ah, the saga of working with Rose Remodeling. Where should I begin? The salesman, John, nice guy, but pretty good at selling. I trusted him and, I take full credit, I did not fully review the contract. At the end of the day, my $35,350 bought a tiled shower with fittings, a floor, and a toilet. No paint, no vanity, no mirror, no other fixtures (just the shower valve and head). Nothing but the shower, the floor, and the toilet. When we got started, I asked if we could delay the start time, because I had just figured out that the vanity, faucets, mirrors, towel bars, etc, were not included and so had to choose and order them. Over $1600 later, they were all inbound but not here yet. Well, Rose was going to charge me something like $500 a week to store the flooring that had already arrived in their shop if delayed. When I said, well lets just cancel, nope, I was on the hook for $7500 for flooring, sorry, should have read the contract. Yep, I should have. In all fairness, they delivered the flooring early and waived the storage fees, I think anyway, who knows for sure. Due to being under the gun for timing, I ended up with a vanity of the wrong color, but it's in now. So Rose finally showed up and got started, but of course as always, delays occurred, but they didn't offer to pay me in compensation. Should have read the contract. They did finally get the shower in, and it is very good, subcontracted to a shower installer and a very good glass shower door contractor. Except the plate on the valve is reversed from what it should be. And it will be that way forever, because Rose said the correct plate cannot be sourced to match the valve. So I agreed to live with it and they took $150 off the final payment of $500 due. Woo hoo. If you are considering Rose Remodeling, I suggest you do so very carefully. Read the contract. Read the contract. Read the contract. If this was an FB post, I'd be correctly and deservedly castigated for not reading the contract. I estimate that had I just contracted separately for the work done, it would have been far less expensive with fewer headaches. If you do go with Rose, be sure everything promised is exhaustedly outlined ahead of time. And read the contract. read more

Had a shower remodel done and very happy with the end results. The presentation and service requested were excellent. This was an overall replacement of the old tub, plumbing, wall and all new shower components. The workmanship by Alex and staff was very professional and to be commended. Unfortunately, the stationary glass piece came with a chip which the crew noticed and made me aware of it. Rose Remodel followed through and ordered another one which was installed within 2 weeks. Yes, I'm glad and happy that I chose this company for my shower remodel. read more

I could not be happier with the finished remodel completed by Rose Remodeling. From the first consultation with Josh to the final day of the project, everyone was professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. The actual work done by Ruben Villegas was incredible. He is a true artist. He went above and beyond our expectations and even helped us address a few things he noticed that were of concern. While their quote was on the higher end compared to others we received, the results were breathtaking and the project was completed sooner than expected. We couldn't be happier and would absolutely recommend Rose Remodeling to anyone. read more

Rose Remodeling just completed a bathtub to walk-in shower conversion in my small ensuite master bath. Everything went quickly and was finished to perfection. Sergei handled the entire build from tear out to setting up inspections to installation and clean up. He's so terrific it's hard to find words to describe. There was no mess, no noise to speak of, the work is master class, and he's personable, courteous, just so nice to be around. Rose worked with me on the pricing and facilitated some last minute additions I asked for like a secure grab bar. I'm very happy and totally satisfied. read more

I was not a happy customer at first - but I told Rose about my complaints, and they responded and addressed each of my complaints in detail, and now I am left quite happy with the results. Thank you, Rose! Here is my original 1-star review: I hired Rose to do a shower stall remodel. Kaleb came in and did the initial measurements, and when the workers came in to do the demolition, they realized that the measurements were incorrect and they needed a different size shower pan. This was on a Thursday, and it would take a few days to get the proper size shower pan in hand. Fast forward to the next Monday, and the shower pan still hasn't come in - but the City inspector came to do an inspection. I was home alone, and told the inspector that the workers needed to wait for a different size shower pan, so I sent the inspector away. Then the Rose project manager called me and told me that I should have let the inspector in to do the inspection, or now they have to wait until the inspector can come back before they can start the work. The inspector can't come back until Thursday, so an entire week was wasted with my shower completely demolished and my master bathroom a mess. Rose has an internal communication problem that caused an ENTIRE WEEK DELAY in my project, with me living with a master bath that is unusable. read more

I'm satisfied with the install that Ruben Bueno has completed for the ensuite shower install and also the day before Eddy did the demo and did a bang up job. Ruben had done an excellent job and was open to any questions and also was keeping me informed of each step along the way. The only situation was that didn't give RR a 5 was the shower pan I had requested was not the right size (standard ordered) instead of the lower threshold one I'd asked for. In lieu of tearing it out and having to wait another two weeks for the job to get done they provided me with a bench upgrade.
