Our fence had blown down in the last storm and we decided to replace approximately 65 feet of fencing. My friend had recommended Dan's and so I called them up. I was highly impressed from our experience with Dan's Construction. From beginning until end, the process was seamless. He responded to my Yelp inquiry in minutes and he came the following day for the estimate. We inquired with 5 different companies in the area, and Dan's Construction had the most affordable quote AND the fastest turnaround time. The booking process was easy. He sent all of our quotes separately for each side of the fence so that we could use them to give to each neighbor separately. No deposit was needed either, and we were able to pay in full at the end of the job completion with cash, check, or credit card (3% charge). Got a quote on a 50' fence , 6' on center metal posts, with a 7' high fence for added privacy. 10 out of 10 if I could! This is the second time we used Dan's. First time ten years ago on one side of the property - the fence is still up, in fantastic shape and well built. So when our neighbor and I went in on the other side of our property, we did call Dan. He was responsive, came put to walk the property, and had an estimate. Because the neighbors are next door in a rental, I had to get three quotes for the Good Neighbor Fence Act of 2013 to legally present and decide who to hire. I was hoping the estimate would be reasonible and it was. Materials are way more costly now than even a few yrs back, i get it. But Dan was the price we budgeted for, so right on! Dan was the best price, but he was also the most on top of it with follow-up and so forth. The other two companies did not even follow up on the appt to see it we were ready to go sign the contract or if we had further questions. We just had our fence built by Dan and his crew. Dan is really straight forward and detailed with his quotes. There were no surprises and he answered all of our questions. It's easiest to contact him via email. And he will typically reply back at the end of the day. They had a crew of 5 to 9 guys. Our neighbors loved the fence and did theirs as well. Dan not only had the best price but we were also very happy with the work the guys did. One thing to note, it's standard to leave the concrete in the ground and not take them out. If you plan on taking it out, it will definitely cost more in labor. We did not run into any issues one reviewer had mentioned with the quality of wood. The guys purchase pallets of wood and they sort through them. They may have knots in them and vary in color. We do not plan on sealing or staining our premium redwood fence boards. All of them will oxidize to a gray color over time. The boards are also easy to replace. Nik assured us if there were any issues, he can come back to help us fix it. I needed a fence along the west facing property line of my house. There was an existing metal fence which was on the neighbors property but didn't provide any privacy and the previously planted a vegetation had died back. This was a challenging a situation because there was a berm near a Koi pond where the grade sloped up and so this had to be navigated for the fence. I called several other contractors and Daniil got back to me right away and was out there the next day to survey the property and then was able to text me back with a quote. Two days later the work was completed. I was impressed with the quality of the workmanship. They used a steel posts set in concrete which is much more durable than wood posts, this is an option that I'm glad that I went with. Dan's Construction was able to deal with the situation at hand without demanding that for example that everything was completely cleared away on two sides of the fence. In this case the filter from the koi pond was butting right up against the fence and they were able to trim the fence a little bit to accommodate this I'll definitely call Dan's construction the next time I need fence work done. read more

I took away a star because response to phone calls and text was non-existent. The voicemail message on the phone said text was the fastest way to get a response but I never got a text back. Six (6) days later still no response from Dan so I followed up with an email which yielded results. Another reason for the star removal was because one of my flower bush was stomped on during their service. Aside from lack of communication and one injured flower bush, overall I was pleased with their service. It's a small local family/friend business. They worked very fast and everything was done within 5 hours (730am-1230pm). Removal of fence, installation of steel post and new fence, and hauling away the old fence. Dan provides 5% discount for payment in cash money only. Checks will not get you a discount. He also accepts credit cards. Their prices are very competitive. My wife and I do NOT recommend Dan's construction. Dan was unpleasant, unresponsive and unprofessional. Dan offered to provide an estimate. Yet, we never received an estimate, nor did we hear back from Dan after he visited our home. During his visit, Dan took measurements and reassured the same day that he would email the estimate, but that never happened. We waited and followed up with him. But no matter whether it was via call, online via Yelp, texts etc...No response. My wife and I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. My original expectation was maybe a crew of 2-3 people, and that it would take a couple of days, I have a pretty long fence 158 feet. When they showed up, there must have been a crew of 10-15 people, super organized; each person had a specific role, so they didn't get in each other's way. But when we finally were ready, our original company was still quoting us a ridiculously high bid and booked out for a long time. So we reached out to Daniil and his quote was super reasonable and able to start pretty quickly. Also I had to contact them to confirm my appointment. But regarding the fence installation they did do a quick job but not a good job. We had issues with parts of the wood from our fence completely falling off, our fence gate sagging, to 3 corners that separated after only 3 months and now I'm having issues with a sagging fence because the insulation wasn't don't properly or maybe do to lack of quality of wood. Dan and his crew replaced a 60 foot redwood plank fence. Your standard 6 foot dog eared plank and post fence. Fence job was decent and reasonably priced. Straight and sturdy. A few negatives drops them to two stars from what would be a 4 or 5 star review: They didn't arrive until 3pm and finished at 9pm in the dark. They didn't tell me this was the plan, nor communicate that they would be there after dark. When darkness fell, and there was no sign of them stopping I had to cancel my evening plans at the last minute. I told them that the outdoor power outlet on office building could only handle about 5 amps, so they could charge their rechargeable tools on it, but the compressor they brought out needed to be plugged into a different outlet, about 100 feet further away. They ignored this and tripped the breaker multiple times, causing a loss of power in my office while I was working. I finally unplugged the compressor and moved the cord myself. If your truck leaks oil, please don't Park it in my driveway. Finally, the part that brought me to post this review. Their quote included hauling away the old fence. Today, when doing yard work, I discovered that they'd hidden the concrete from the old post holes along the back side of my office. This is unacceptable. Not only did I pay you to haul it away, but you thought you'd hide it from me and maybe I wouldn't find it. read more
