We recently decided to give this place a try, especially since it's right down the street and under new ownership. My husband desperately needed a haircut. He usually goes to a perfectionist stylist who always does an incredible job, so I knew he was hesitant to switch. However, I convinced him that he just needed a cut, regardless of where we went. When we walked in, Belen, the owner, greeted us with warmth and respect. Not only was she friendly, but her prices were also a third of what my husband was paying before. She did an outstanding job on his haircut and beard trim. About a month later, he returned for another service, and he asked Belin to suggest a different look for his beard. When he came home, I couldn't keep my hands off him--let's just say we had an incredible weekend! I highly recommend Belin for men's haircuts and beard grooming. While browsing through reviews, I noticed many didn't mention the stylist's name, and there are several talented girls working there, each with their own specialties. My son also visited about a month ago and received an amazing haircut from a stylist with black hair who sits at the end on the left side. I don't remember her name, but she did a fantastic job! Beware of new owner !!!! We used to go here for years and loved it but now ... idk. The new owner royally screwed up. My poor grandma now has what looks like a jet black Elvis wig on her hair when we wanted brown!! Sure we " picked the color" from the swatches in the book but any professional should tell you BEFORE the appointment that the color in the book is not how it will look on her head... we don't know that bc we are not the professionals!!! Anyway, we now have to pay another $130 to get it fixed after we paid $115 for this nightmare. Very disappointing and any professional should know what they're doing and how to achieve a very basic color & cut . read more

Upon my recent move to Modesto I used to bring my two kids here. My oldest did great and the woman who took him in was always very pleasant. Fast forward a few months of coming she began to be very rude; my two boys have always been good during cuts. My last straw was when I made an appt, I told her I was arriving 5 min late, and when I walked in she had someone already seated and told me I had to reschedule. Normally, I would understand; but I clearly told her I was arriving 5 min late and for her to just give someone my appointment was unprofessional. If I hadn't called I completely understand, but she was told and even said it was fine to come in. We luckily have been faithful to another hair salon since this incident and have been happy with the service given. read more

We went here to get my son's first hair cut. It was a really weird experience. I don't think there is any way the person who cut his hair had any sort of license. She had no idea what she was doing. She had acrylic nails that were so long she could barely use the scissors. She kept asking me if it looked done, and I was just kind of telling her where to cut. It was a mess. We should have left after the first few minutes of the hair cut. I was going to report this business, because no one should pay to get their hair cut here. I made an appointment with their online system a few days before. I come in at my appt time, I let the lady know my appt was at 12 and waited a few mins. I see she takes a person who was sitting in the waiting area before me (they could have had appt before me, I don't know) she looks at me and says "probably not till 1230. Sorry." I told her "even with an appointment made online?" She said "yes probably not till 1230." I told her I couldn't stay and left. I called for an appointment, made it for 12:30. When I got there she said my appointment was at 12 and can no longer accommodate me. Which, I was there for hair color and style so 30 min time frame would have not been enough time anyway. There was one person in salon and 4 people waiting. Total waste of time read more

Dianne is very sweet. Local business owner and not a big chain which is great. She does a great job and is careful about her work. Only once did my partner have to return because he felt the haircut wasn't even on both sides, and she acknowledged the issue, apologized, and happily fixed it when he returned the next day. Went for a haircut a little while ago and was excited by the reviews that this place had. I went in and was told there was no one to cut my hair for 30 min. There was no one inside! I waited because I didn't know where else to go at the moment. I guess the lady was on lunch but why is there only one stylist.
