We like shopping at Shaw's, this is one of the grocery chain stores that we usually stop by at least once a week. Since we were in Garden City, we stopped at this location to get a few things like Jello, popsicles, soup, etc. The store was not busy on a Wednesday night around 6pm and we were able to get all we needed and use the self check out registers fairly quickly. The lady manning the self checkout area was very nice and professional when we needed help. Clean store. read more

I placed an order for deli meat and everything I ordered was out of stock including american cheese I find that hard to believe.

Meh... I always end up shopping elsewhere after visiting here. Sometimes you can do really well with sales, and when they do have a sale they really seem to have steep discounts. But regularly priced items seem higher than other stores. I also noticed most sales seem to revolve around unhealthy stuff, and sometimes you are required to buy more to get the discount. I particularly like Shaw's ground sirloin, but most times it is not available for sale. Same thing with locally sourced bottled water from New Hampshire, the stuff is GREAT but I've only been able to buy it a handful of times. There have been a bunch of times when that one thing you need or are looking for just isn't in stock. read more

This is my Go To market. Beautiful establishment with friendly staff in Cranston. Everything from bad snacks to healthy organic. Just bought prime rib for $5.00 a pound and it was amazing. I eat meat. And if it's kinda red and rare, Count me IN! read more

I've witnessed several rodents throughout the location and several unsanitary restrooms along with plumbing issues in the restrooms the staff is spectacular but I have witnessed so e very demeaning conversations between the store supervisors and some of the staff at times. There has also been several leaks in the same locations throughout the store as I frequently visit everytime it rains I've noticed it's always in the same locations. read more

I have been shopping at Shaw's since it opened as needed as it is not close to my home. The digital coupons are great as are the free items that one occasionally receives in the digital section online. However, when arriving at the store, one can either not find the item or purchase it as it is often out of stock. Last evening was the most upsetting. I looked for the item and could not find the digital item, asked for help from three different people and no one knew anything about the item or where to find it. I checked with the office and the young man did not know and told me about their policy of not providing a raincheck for a free item. It was not a good shopping experience at all and this is not the first time this has occurred. One does not feel like a valued customer and that is so disappointing. read more

I usually by flowers for my wife at this shaws because they have good quality but one lady in the flower shop named Clarisse needs customer friendly skills. I said hellow to her as she was walking by me because I needed flowers arranged and it was like talking to the wall. She looked unfriendly as the last 2 times I've seen her. Purchased several deli items today, pastrami, swiss, and a full pound of D&W roast beef on sale. On the way home, in my vehicle, I noticed a strong odor. Dismissed it. At home, 3 hrs later, showing my wife some of the things I purchased, I opened the roast beef and...it was totally rancid!!! I almost yacked! How could the guy slicing this not know this was bad?! I'm going to ask him! How many others were sold this same rancid meat? How many meats were sliced on this same slicer used for this bad meat? I'm from Ks and find some of the prices rediculious; however, what ever the market will bear. My issue is with the advertized "World food hall", it's a complete fail. Not centalized and few offerings for each culture. I do like there meat and seafood sections, with so much pre-packaged protiens it's nice to have a butchers 's counter. Produce is fresh and plentiful.. Handicap shopping carts barely adequate, I saw three but the staff doesn't check to see that they are plugged in when not in use. Oh, the seafood section needs a good cleaning, it's in the back of the store and I can smell it from the front entrance, not attractive. read more

I had a very amazing experience in the floral dept of the store. This review is solely based on just the floral section. I met this wonderful women named Nancy, who helped me with my roses that I was preparing for my great-grandmother and my mother. Anywho Nancy helped me get the best roses , and helped me style them up to make them look beautiful ! She kept saying " appearance is everything". So we continued to look through all the assorted wrapping paper and ribbons until I figured out what I wanted for each family member. She kept conversation the whole time asking how I was and everything , she continued to tell me about her life which she was pretty hilarious never a dull moment. Finally I chose the perfect combinations for each sets of roses and they came out beautiful. So beautiful I didn't want to give them away. She was so nice , I kind of think she was the manager of that dept, if she wasn't she should be the way she knew her stuff. Thanks again Nancy! read more

Store is disorganized, dirty and items do not have prices Shelves are unstocked and trays of unpacked boxes are left abandoned in the aisles. Customers are frustrated and get annoyed with each other as they can't pass down aisles and can't easily find items. Even staples like sugar and flour are hard to find on empty shelves, forcing you to buy items you don't want to buy if you are on the spot in a pinch. This store is an abomination. I suggest going to Dave's or Walmart. read more

Love Shaws but this location could step up their game quite a bit. The produce is hit or miss but usually a miss. I bought a Blood Orange to use as garnish for fancy drinks but there's hardly any 'blood' in it. The prices for meat replacement foods (vegetarian sausages) is a little high and they are out of stock at times... The same goes for the soymilk - high prices and out of stock. WF doesn't carry my favorite brands of these items but Shaws does... So I'm especially annoyed when I have to make a second stop to buy brands that aren't my first choice. I'm always surprised that this location doesn't try a little harder to capture some of the $ people take to Whole Foods across the street. The employees are typically much more involved with one another than high service standards... But I think that's pretty much the expected outcome as a trade off to mostly low prices with ample selection offerings. read more

I rather put NO STARS. The management was rude and rolled her eyes in front of me. I was only there for the sale of strawberries, blueberries, raspberries or blackberries for 3 for $10. Of course! conveniently enough they were all out of raspberries & blackberries. ‍ She kept trying shove another pint of blueberries down my throat because it was what SHE GRABBED & didn't want to walk back to get the strawberries I wanted when she was the one who offered to walk back. While shopping in the store yesterday I was asked by the manager, what could be done to make the store better. Just by being concerned about how to make the store better, the store looks good to me. This location has come a long way and you can see it in most areas. I can tell someone is working hard to keep up the produce section. I always find a good selection at this location. Plenty of dry goods(grocery), meats, dairy and frozen foods to pick from. A small but nice bakery. Decent deli, with a prepared foods section. CS desk offers lottery. Dunkin Donuts Satellite inside at this location. Plenty of parking. My biggest disappointment is the checkout lines. They no longer offer self checkout which makes things worse. The express line is blocked by other stations making it difficult to see if open. To make things worse, seeing management chatting with coworkers and not helping out to reduce lines is inexcusable in my opinion. Copy your competitors, long lines, more workers to the front. I try to stay away during peak hours. All in all I will keep going to this location if standards are kept. read more

I am usually a fan of this market and get most of my groceries there. Today I saw half a dozen customers not wearing masks and was told by a cashier that customers are not required to wear them. I called the manager and he told me if a customer isn't wearing a mask a staff member will offer them one. If they refuse then that is alright. They are not asked to leave. I guess at Shaw's they care more about your money than your safety. read more

This is my favorite, all-around supermarket. It's large enough to carry everything you need, but not so large that you feel you will get lost. The layout is more logical than your typical Stop & Shop; I rarely have had to ask where to find something at this Shaw's. Another thing I like about Shaw's is that (unlike Stop & Shop) you don't need to sign up for some stupid card and carry it around in order to get the sale prices - everyone pays the same. I don't want to carry a ton of cards in my wallet. They have good sales on meats, ice cream, bottled water, paper products and other staple items here. I would guess that regular prices on general grocery items are probably higher than Aldi or Price Rite, but lower than Dave's or Stop & Shop. Still, I tend to do the bulk of my grocery shopping here because it's a pain to stop at two or three different markets. There's a lot to be said for one-stop shopping, and you can definitely do it here. Unlike some other reviewers, I don't find the deli wait times to be slow at all, whether there are few or many customers ahead of me. If you think this deli is slow, go to the Stop & Shop in Coventry ... now, THAT'S a SLOW deli, if you ask me. I haven't tried many of their prepared foods, but they have a great selection. It's nice to know they have a Dunkin' Donuts in the store, although I usually bring my own coffee in a travel mug while I shop. Also, their air conditioning really pumps out the cold, which is most welcome on a hot summer day. They also have plenty of checkout lines open, and the cashiers (and baggers, if your lane is fortunate enough to have one, lol) do a decent job of keeping things moving. I don't really have many complaints about this Shaw's, but if I had to name one, the main complaint would be the parking lot, which gets kind of crazy since it's part of a large shopping center. The addition of a Starbucks at the edge of the parking lot has made the traffic situation worse. read more

Man. I spent no less than 40 minutes in the deli line yesterday. Usually. It's 10-15 min. There weren't even that many people. The guys and women behind the counter were having person discussions about dating, who works when and why certain people were leaving for a break when, rather than putting their heads down and taking orders. I don't know, I try to give credit where credit is due, but man was this just unacceptable. On bright side, the lines to check out were super long and a nice young guy opened up an extra line to aid that. Only good thing that happened at that Shaw's during my hour long visit. read more

My brother does most of the shopping for me and his family. He keeps going back to this Shaw's even though we all live 10 miles away. He buy fresh meat from the deli department. He likes the service from the deli cause the young man alway friendly and very courteous. Why we didn't give 5 stars was 2 time we got there late and the deli was closed, so we had to buy package chicken. Twice the package chicken wasn't fresh. Stopped here to pick up an item on sale. Ended up spending more than $50, because I liked the prices, and organization. The employees at the deli were very pleasant to all the customers. They had a nice selection of fish today. The store was semi-crowded, but laid out well. There were enough cashiers on hand and baggers, which is what I expect when I come to the supermarket. Their produce here is absolutely horrible-- I often see rotting fruits and veggies on their shelves. Their prices for a lot of stuff are actually higher than stop and shop and the quality does not justify it-- you're fine buying anything that's pre-packaged... I only tend to buy chicken here because its organic and a reasonable price but beware and bite carefully: I've found bone fragments in the organic boneless chicken breast on three separate occasions this year alone. This was my first time ever inside of a Shaw's and I was very impressed. I really like this grocery store, it had everything that I would need/want and it had a lot of great deals, without having to sign up for a discount card. They had a big selection of fruits/veggies, gluten free, organic and wide variety of meats, seafood to choose from. They also had a big selection of non-food items for those that didn't want to go to another store to shop, which is great for those that hate going to more than one store. I won't be living in this area as of Sunday (I'm moving to Pawtucket), but will try to find a store just like this up there. Coming here is rough, it is so hectic. I live 2 minutes away and if I need to pick up a few things after work I go to Wholefoods, because I'd rather spend twice as much than stop in here. Often when I come here there are issues at the register, some times things come to a complete stop for a few minutes to 10 minutes at a time. I'm wondering if maybe management needs to help organize things to make this run smoother because in my vast experience here it is not sailing smoothly at all. I only come here once a week to do a big haul, I really wish they could get it together because I'd love to make this my main grocery store. Don't even get me started with the Deli. It is my personal ring of hell. I only get deli meats from the grab bag section because I have waited upwards of 15 minutes when there were maybe..2 other customers. My boyfriend waited 20 minutes to be helped and never was even gotten too! He had to give up and leave. Skip the deli section if you'd like to get out within 24 hours. read more

Big store. Bigger than most supermarkets. D & D inside so you can't go wrong there. Yes, its a little expensive, but food everywhere is expensive nowadays. The parking lot is big, but it can be a little tricky getting out because of the configuration. read more
