They have almost everything I ever need or want- they even have sushi (I didn't try the sushi from this particular location but the selection looked really good)! I really enjoy shopping at Dave's Marketplace. They have a large assortment of pizzas, prepared foods, fresh baked goods, and wonderful desserts. I love treating myself to their awesome fried chicken (the thighs are amaaazing) and then I venture over to their prepared foods and always get myself a nice container of fresh sautéed broccoli rabe! You can purchase their pizzas whole or by the slice and they are always hot and fresh. The specialty pizzas, which they have quite a few, are made to order so make sure you call ahead. We ordered catering for a work event, nothing fancy, just various sandwich and wrap platters with a garden salad and potato salad. The food was packaged well, reasonably priced, and the recommended portion sizes were accurate. There was something for everyone with the regular assortment of sandwiches and wraps platters we ordered (turkey, roast beef, ham). We also ordered a vegetarian tray that had grilled vegetable, hummus, and Italian style eggplant wraps. My neighborhood market! I love that they offer free coffee (both regular and decaf) for customers to sip on while shopping. The deli/prepared foods counter has an awesome array of delicious things from stuffies, to meatballs, to all kinds of sides and salads. I just had the Mexican street corn salad and it was so good with fresh grilled corn. As for grocery shopping they have a decent selection of items but sometimes there are more obscure items that I can't find. Their bakery items are good as well and very affordable. We stopped here for groceries after enjoying dinner at Bettola down the street. I generally like shopping at Dave's but find it a little pricier than Trader Joe's or Market Basket but still better than Whole Foods. They did have some nice specials when we visited Including $1 polar seltzers and 2 for $5 shredded cheeses. Really nice selection of cheeses. Lot parking and quick check out. You may want to bring your own bags because they provide just very basic brown bags with no handles similar to what you get at Market Basket read more

I love Dave's Marketplace, this one is the closest to my condo in Providence and it's probably the newest one of all the ones I've been to. It's located on Pontiac Ave, right past the Rolf Square area of Cranston. I felt like getting a fried chicken meal on my way to the beach house and I got what I wanted with great customer service and great quality. Dave's Fresh Marketplace is a Rhode Island company and for the most part, they employ Rhode Islanders. They are known to be very involved in the community and they give back anytime they can. For example, they have provided community meals and money to many different groups in Rhode Island like: -Rhode Island Meals on Wheels program -West Bay Community Action -Be the Change/Project Hand Up -North Kingstown Food Pantry -Cumberland Emergency Lunch Program/Boys and Girls Club facilitating -Hot Fresh Pizzas every day to area hospitals in support of Frontline workers So, shopping at Dave's is great for me as a consumer (good quality and good customer service) as well as for the community, which benefits from this excellent corporate citizen. read more

I am extremely disappointed by the very poor customer service that I received at Dave's concerning being over(double)charged for a pound of scrod. I asked to have the refund of $6.26 mailed to me but was told by the Director of Communications Susan Budlong that I would have to go into the store. Let me also say that my first Email was ignored and I sent a follow up the next day. Susan claimed that she had replied but I did not receive one the first day--and there was none in my spam folder. The fact that neither Susan (or Dave's) would not make this right by putting a check (or gift card) in the mail is extremely poor customer service to me. When a company acts like this, inconveniencing a customer and thinking that ius right, it becomes obvious that good customer service is not the objective read more

Dave's is really convenient for grabbing some items quickly. In such a relatively tiny store they do have a pretty good selection of items and usually have a variety of things for decent sale prices. If you shop outside the sales, somehow the pricing can be more expensive than Whole Foods on most items. I also noticed that over the years, the "IGA" generic brand seems like it has been replaced with wider selection including other brands and local artisan products, making it harder to shop on a budget. Prices aside, the meat here is usually pretty good, I would say better than other bigger regional grocery chains. Produce is also always fresh and I love that they sell local produce when in season. It is just so much more flavorful, and Dave's seems to carry a wider selection of local seasonal produce than any other grocery store. One thing that is so disappointing at this store is the thick, horrible plastic bags that they introduced. Cranston has implemented a ban on all plastic bags, which Dave's originally followed, but Dave's has found a way around this law by using what they label as "reusable" plastic bags. They still offer paper but you have to very quickly ask for paper before the clerk starts scanning, otherwise your items by default end up in plastic. Anyone can slap a reusable label on a plastic bag, but its still a plastic bag. They are seemingly 10x thicker than regular plastic bags, which is way worse for the environment. They carry less than paper bags, which requires more plastic. They are awkwardly sized so the store clerks typically only put a few things in the plastic bag, but will nearly fill an entire paper bag. Plus, when is the last time you saw someone carrying these ultra thick plastic bags back to the store to reuse them? read more

I don't know if I have been to this market before. It is wonderful though because each Dave's Market looks like the others. This way you can find things without spending too much time looking. Always good food at a a reasonable price. The employees are kind and friendly. Take out prepared dishes are so good. We always get their prepared meals for Valentine's Day. Nice and easy and nobody has to cook. Their produce is beautiful and fresh. Great variety too. I was looking for oyster mushrooms and they had them!!! Not my favorite of the Daves markets but when I am in the area it does the trick. I feel that every Daves parking lot is a death trap.

When Dave's first opened in Cranston, I was in love......sadly that is changing with each visit. Their Bakery USED to be stellar with fresh, enticing treats galore. My son generously brought some "fruit danish" I had been craving, but the shock turned out that there was the "red" jelly was NOT raspberry or any other identifiable fruit, for that matter! Ugh, it's just another in a long list of bakery failures from this location. Lemon danish had yellow filling with zero flavor, also and don't get me started on the "cheese" danish, which also totally lacked even a vague cheese aroma or flavor. Now on to the pizza, which was considerably smaller than usual, as well as being over-baked and extremely dry. My, how Dave's has fallen from first to near rock bottom. Looks like I will be choosing other markets most of the time from now on. Sad, truly SAD! read more

Sometimes, I like the experience of a relaxed food shopping outing - not feeling rushed, being able to pick up some really good food. The 'vibe' in many stores is rushed but at this store, it is very much an outing for me. As a single person, I took notice of their smaller portion options in the meat section, and I appreciate that. I am very happy with their produce, too. They are lacking in the personal care products (i.e. shampoo), but I pop over to another store for those times. Exceptional 5* Hired Dave's for my daughter's post wedding brunch. The food was just amazing. The service was above and beyond. They arrived right on time, were set up and even helped with my personal decor. My dealing with SueMay was the best experience. We had a staffed event aand they were professional and courteous. What annoys me at this store are the customers in their 50's that are extremely rude, don't practice social distancing, and are out for themselves and have overinflated egos and opinions that no one wants to hear. By far, this is the best Dave's location I've visited! It's a new store, so, of course, everything is shiny and clean. I like the dark wood cathedral ceiling, and the dark green steel beams and ductwork - sort of like ski lodge meets uber-industrial. It's a very cool space for a supermarket. I had a job nearby, so I came here for lunch Thursday. Dave's has a huge array of hot and cold prepared foods, and the quality is good. The layout of the store was interesting also, although the bathrooms are on the opposite side of the store from the entrance. To make up for this, though, the bathrooms here are larger than the ones at other Dave's locations, which are single-occupant only. Besides their huge deli and prepared foods sections, another thing that sets Dave's apart from Stop & Shop or Shaw's is excellent service. Dave's has plenty of employees actually working out on the floor, so you never have to try to hunt someone down to ask where something is. And, every employee at Dave's is very polite and knows the store. Heck, even the kid who retrieves shopping carts was able to direct me to the single-serving soda cooler! The environment is highly professional, without being snooty, like, say, Whole Foods Market on the East Side. As is the case with other Dave's locations, this store has several tables and benches at the front of the store, where you can sit down and eat your lunch after going through checkout. The area is bright, with plenty of windows. While I wouldn't do the bulk of my grocery shopping at Dave's, it's a rather pleasant place to eat - nicer than some restaurants! And, it's a pretty good value for lunch, too. I had chicken cordon bleu and beef stroganoff, plus a 16-ounce soda and candy bar, for just under $7 total ... and let's not forget the free coffee! If Whole Foods and Trader Joe's had a kid it would be Dave's Marketplace. This location is easily accessible and has ample parking. the store is modern and very well kept. they have a huge variety of prepared foods. I found the non prepared foods to be a bit pricey, but they had a decent selection of products. The isle are really narrow so the mini shopping carts that they offer customers are actually better to use than the regular sized shopping carts. The staff I interacted with were polite and professional. This is a great edition to the rolfe square area and I'll definitely utilize this store again for when I need to grab a quick meal on the go. read more

I know it's brand spanking new but boy I've never seen such a clean grocery store. The footprint of this location is much smaller than any other Dave's locations I've visited and the selection matches. I had hoped that the specialty products we like could be found here but that isn't the case. There are some items but no where near the vast selection that the Cranston WF offers. What I did notice a better selection of was WINGS. Holy chicken the wing bar is a must! There were so many kinds to choose from. The prepared foods area in general seemed to take up at least 25% of the store and with a pretty big outdoor dining area, I'm guessing this was what they were going for with this location. It looks like a hybrid of where to get dinner and do some last minute grocery shopping in one stop during the summer. The parking lot appears to have been freshly paved, which helps to start your 'classy grocery shopping' feel from the moment you pull in. I also liked that most of the produce was located inside upright glass door coolers. read more

It's very disappointing to see the managers, people in charge, with their cloth face covering below their nose and in some cases below their lip. I witness this today with 3 employees one who is a manager ( talk, thin) and one who is a women. While they were standing around chit chatting with one another! I have also witnessed this woman talking on the phone near the front door with her mask pulled down to her chin. How can they expect for their customers to follow the directions for safety when they cannot. By wearing our face cloth covering we are protecting them, however, they are not protecting their loyal customers. This is a total disregard and disrespect for the Governor, Dr Scott and last but not least the public. read more

What an amazing addition to the ever-popular Dave's Marketplace chain of stores here in RI. I love Dave's but they definitely did a great job with this one. It is clean, bright, you get a free cup of coffee while you shop... I mean, must I say any more? They have amazing pizza which is always hot and fresh and available by the slice or whole pie! The prepared foods section is quite impressive. From my experience at some "nicer" grocery stores in the area, the hot bar is a place where food goes to die or resurface as something entirely different for one last chance at a sale before it is donated or thrown out. NOT HERE! Not at Daves! The food is always fresh, it makes sense, and you can compile a complete meal from all the available offerings. I must say, that the wings & Chinese food are some of my favorites. Oh, and if you have boarded the wellness train for 2018 they have a pretty decent salad bar as well! From the baked goods to the Meats and seafood, you just can't beat Daves. Be sure to follow them on social media becuase they post their mid-week specials which I believe are only good for WED - THURS of each week. I recently hit a mid-week filet sale and got some of the best steaks I have ever had at an insanely good price. Let me know if this sale comes back around! I could spend hours here... Dave's is the best supermarket in the state. I was so excited when they opened this location. They lose a star because I find their take out packaging to be very wasteful. When you eat at the store I wish they would give you a plate. They give you giant pizza boxes and plastic takeout containers for hot food. It creates a lot of waste. I always find shopping at Dave's to be a very pleasant experience. Their cashiers are so polite and well trained unlike at the big chain supermarkets. Dave's makes you feel like you entered a bygone era of when the customer came first. Dave's always has excellent produce and fish. They have a good variety of mainstream and eclectic health conscious brands. It's definitely worth paying a little more for a pleasant Dave's shopping experience. read more

Very disappointed with the express cashier wearing the ridiculous headband this morning. On a quick run into Dave's I grabbed items needed including 10 yogurts. I waited in the express line and unloaded items only to be told "You do realize this is the express lane" She loaded my 2 paper bags and dropped them rather heavily into the cart. I told her Thank you- She then proceeded to say to the next person "sorry about that" I had my mind on other things and honestly wasn't paying attention that the 6 items and 10 yogurts was over the express lane limit I did not appreciate her aggressive behavior because I had a few extra items (yogurt) A polite "Hi how are you?" To the next customer would have been so much kinder. I do not know what what she was apologizing for I'm still baffled by that response. I called and spoke with a supervisor- not sure what was done but it was a very off putting visit. I have worked in Pediatrics hard, long hours the entire pandemic but I have been kind, friendly, and put my best foot forward. Excellent hot prepared food bar, dishes are always fresh and there is always variety. I go right before noon and I have never been disappointed. Nicely designed grocery store overall but sometimes I still find myself going to Shaw's to guarantee I get everything on my grocery list.
