However, since I've been starting to stop at Market Basket, I legitimately only go to Market Basket now. It's so much nicer, Market Basket everything and is so well organized. Everything is easy to find. Customer service is great prices are great and when I say prices are great I mean like better than Stop & Shop.. Nothing's cheap but they're cheaper then Stop & Shop for sure. I do come to the market on Sundays, which I will say this location is extremely busy on Sundays, but I mean that's to be expected.

They're more expensive than Market Basket, which doesn't make sense given the community and neighborhood. Why would the prices be higher? But you know, capitalism. The produce probably needs better conditions because I saw bell peppers with mold or fuzzy white stuff in each pack, which isn't good for us. The ambiance would be better if there weren't so much racism toward Black people entering the store. I thought it was weird I didn't see any Black people in there.

I have been to several of the America's Food Basket grocery stores in the metro Providence area…read more This one is Pawtucket is probably my least favorite. The area where it's located is in an industrial area so across the street you see old brick industrial buildings and walls, which make this part of town a bit scary at night. Anyway, the store itself has the basic departments that you will find at other America's Food basket like produce, meats, groceries, etc. Since Pawtucket and Central Falls have a large Hispanic population, the offerings are very much geared towards the Latino community. Overall a good place to shop for good values.

From my understanding it is a Cape Verdean supermarket so they have some unique items you may not find at a generic supermarket but that also means you may not find certain brands. I had heard great things about the cooked food so this visit was to intentionally try it out. There are many options including different rices (white, yellow, seafood); different meats (chicken, pork, fried fish, shrimp, etc.), vegetables, and legumes. Most of the dishes are Cape Verdean inspired and look delicious. We ordered a plate with white rice and half a chicken for $11.99 along with a small container of creole style shrimp for about $13 ($19.99 / pound). We didn't realize some items are charged by weight and other can be included in plate so that caused some misunderstanding; I wish items were marked off. Everything was scrumptious, warm, and filling. The prices of everything else in the store is fair. They have different sales every week. In addition, they have a large parking lot.

Kinda like a warehouse store, but you don't have to buy in bulk. Items for sale are still in their shipping boxes, boxes stacked up on the aisles. The Pawtucket place had a great produce selection and a great bakery. The fish was definitely past its prime - it definitely would not last until tomorrow. Lots of ethnic items - in this case Spanish/South/Central American. As with all stores, you need to know your prices. Most of the produce had amazing prices - I got fresh mangoes and pineapples and coconuts for 99 cents each. But their Kind Bar pricing was no better than any other store. Service in the aisles was close to nonexistent. But the cashiers were super friendly and helpful. The guy in front of me was on a limited budget and the cashier had no problem adding and removing items from his cart so that he could afford his weekly groceries. Not sure it's worth the drive to Pawtucket to save money on a fresh pineapple - but I am definitely going to keep this chain in mind
