This is my go to when putting flower arrangements together. I normally do the 3 for $18 deal but seeing it's Mother's day tomorrow they have a huge selection of flowers while they last. They also have 6 chocolate covered strawberries for $9.99. There is a self check out. read more

I recently stopped at this Shaw's to get some oatmeal. Every week they have great deals, so the best thing is to grab their weekly flyer on the way in and see what is a good deal. I always use the self checkout register, but what I don't like is that the sale prices or digital coupons don't show on the screen until you are ready to pay and hit the Finish button....at that point you might see a final check that might be 20-30% off from the original receipt.... So I always stop and go through the receipt to make sure all my deals have been properly posted.... That's the way the do it....!!!! read more

They are open until 10 but I got there at exactly 8:36 pm and all the seafood was put away. I asked the employee behind seafood counter if the seafood counter was closed, he said yes, it was closed. I asked what time they close, he said 8:30. He then went on to explain that they have to have it all cleaned up and put away before the store closes. Why the heck can't he just ask what I need and go in the back and grab it? What in the point of closing your seafood counter 90 minutes before the store closes? read more

I order online Saturday night to be picked up Sunday morning, 2 things that were on sale were sold out ( I guess is common thing that they put things like chicken on sale, but don't really have much in stock so you get a replacement that cost 2x) I did approved the replacement. I get there at 8:45am check in, waited until 9:30 then I started a live chat on the app, Micaela was very nice and thank me for my patience while she tried to contact the store, she couldn't even get in touch with the store, after almost 10 min in this chat I gave up and asked the order to be canceled and drove away, 5 min into my drive I get a message to show my code to the employee because my order is outside. I drive back, drive around didn't see any employee with groceries and drive away when I called the store they were apologetic and offered to keep the order till 8pm when they store closed, i said no, she was apologetic and said if I decided to go back she would personally bring my groceries out, I told them I would called them back, but right now I need to get my toddler home because he's done with sitting in a parked car. When I get home I get a call from them (a very rude male) saying that 2 employees went outside and I must've parked in the wrong spot. Let me get this straight, for the whole time I was there waiting (55 min by the time I left) I never got the notification that they were coming out and to show my code, now you're telling me it's my fault because I must've parked in the wrong spot? I also didn't see any employee coming out with groceries, I had perfect view of the entrance, you called my number after I tried to cancel, you could've called when you suppose came out? Worst experience ever, do yourself a favor and go to Dave's, Stop n shop or Aldis, I would've given ZERO stars if I could! read more

Be careful when checking out. The shelves show one price, and the item rings up at a higher price, as not to notice the change.

This looks like one of the older stores, on the small side and without all the new amenities of the new larger stores. Perhaps the most important problem is that the store does not have a pharmacy. Or a bank. or a salad bar. Because of it's size, or rather lack of size it does not have the selection of product or other items that are found in the newer stores. Not really a supermarket, just a market. It's clean and the people there are nice but not nearly as convenient as the new much larger super stores. read more

Tend to prefer this Shaws over the Cranston one. Parking lot is easier and safer to get in and out, and its bit smaller and simpler. Never had a problem with staff being unfriendly, and its better than the Stoppy across the street. read more

I actually checked in so that I could write how terrible the deli service is. I normally don't get deli stuff, but I did order things here for my family the past few weeks. Although there are only a few people in line, the wait is very long. The staff talk and carry on about their personal lives and discuss openly about everything you can imagine, it's very awkward. At one point, the entire staff left the counter with customers still waiting and were gone for several minutes. Finally, one of the managers went back and hollered for them to go wait on customers. I have had a very similar experience on 3 visits, so this must be normal for the deli staff. read more

Well, where do I start! Every time I visit my local Shaw's (right down the street) they always seem to disappoint me. In the last 6 months every time I have visited I have walked out and went to Dave's down the street. Either their Idaho potatoes are to small and bruised or their meat is not fresh. The prices are high as well- I can not figure out why they do not have any sales. The selection is dismal at best as well, I visited today looking for steak all they had was the family packs (3 pounds +). If you are looking for a quick dinner (I go the the grocery every night) don't bother you will walk out every time! Don't settle for meat that has been sitting and over-priced, freezer burned frozen food and family packs of brown meat, look elsewhere. Stop and shop is opening across the street soon, perhaps Shaw's will get it's act together? Probably not read more

It's a supermarket. I'm pretty sure you know what those are. I still go to this Shaw's out of habit - it's been my neighborhood supermarket for a decade. But as another reviewer pointed out, it's a smaller, older store. In the last twenty years or so supermarkets have changed from being very large grocery stores with a meat counter to having banks (the Shaw's used to have a Pawtucket Credit Union branch in it, but that has since relocated across the street), pharmacies, book and magazine aisles, petting zoos, and rifle ranges. This Shaw's doesn't have all of that, but I don't personally miss it. I'm pretty sure the spaghettios and peanut butter I get here is the same at the brand new Super Stop & Shop up the street. Still, my guess is that this branch will need to either modernize or close in the next few years. read more

I live near Sandy Lane in Warwick and I need to go to the store at least 3 or 4 times a week. Because Stop & Shop is less than a 1/4 mile away, I go there for milk if I need it. But for years I traveled to Shaws at the far end of Warwick Avenue. That's a 10 mile round trip compared to a half mile, because I'd say 80% of the time if I need more than milk and I go to stop & shop, I'm not in there 5 minutes and I regret that I went. But over the past year, every time Shaw's has a sale and I make a trip expecting to get something advertised in the flyer, again & again they either run out of stock very quick and don't refill the freezers & shelves fast enough, or it's just totally gone within a day or three of the sale because they didn't order enough of, which leaves an entire week of customers still coming in expecting the inventory to be there, yet there is nothing there. I'd bet over the past year I've returned to Shaw's at least 2 or 3 times during at-least 5 or 6 sales, hoping they refilled the freezers or shelves, only to return each time still finding them empty, resorting to going over to Stop & Shop. It can get sickening to the point of just saying the hell with it and figure if I'm going to be disappointed, I may as well go to Stop & Shop and save gas at the same time. One day I actually just said the heck with this, then left my carriage full of items, walked out and didn't return for over two months because this happened so often. Though I hated to do it, my last 30 or so trips to the store were up the street to Stop & Shop . read more

Yeah Shaw's is Shaw's. The selection is limited but it's relatively cheap. Plus I can't bring myself to go to StopnShop (opening a competing supermarket right across the street just seems like a dick move). I don't get the negative reviews about the employees at Shaw's. They are always super friendly and helpful! read more

It's a grocery store that has what I want, usually in stock. It's cheaper than the rest of the markets. The staff is helpful and personable. Not really much more that I'm looking for in a grocery store. read more

So....this place is still open. Apparently. I mean, most people don't realize it's here; they just drive right past this entire parking lot on their way to snazzier destinations like "Eddy's Lounge" or Oakland Beach. And the Shaws staff, I'm not so sure that THEY know that they're still open to the public. They all just sort of ignore you and keep doing their own thing when you mistakenly walk through the door. I say mistakenly because why would someone CHOOSE to shop here? Is there something I'm missing? Is there a logical justification to spend $2.99 on a rotted black avocado that you could easily purchase across the street at Stop-n-Shop for .99cents? Or maybe instead of buying that roasting chicken for $1.69/lb at the other, brightly lit grocery store some 200 yards away, you choose to come to Shaws and get NO chicken at all, because after searching high and low for a chicken in what is obviously the poultry department, to no avail, you ask an employee where one might find "a chicken", or even just "chicken" in general- and what you get in return is a slightly mystified, quizzical look- as if you had just asked for some 'Mxyzptlk trotters'. I'm actually glad- glad that there's nothing I could conceivably want to buy here, that the prices are prohibitively expensive for the weird mix of products they Do have doting their wonky shelves, and that they've never heard of this so called "chicken" that I'm interested in - - -because if I DID find a grocery item that I desired, there would be no conceivable way in which to Purchase said item. Alas, there are no open registers. No cashiers on duty. Aisles 1-12 are closed today, and every day apparently- and guess what? No self checkout aisles either, because here at the Lakewood Shaws it's 1993 forever! A few springs back this place was flooded in a surprise typhoon. (Thank you very much Mr. Al Gore and his global warming!) And I have a theory that it this place and everything in it died that fateful day, and this is actually a Ghost Market...haunting the murky shores of the Pawtuxet River...and luring weary shoppers to their doom... read more
