I was in the area so I decided to stop here to get some seasonings for the beach house. They had a large selection of them and they carry Badia, which I prefer over Goya (which I don't buy anymore....anymore....anymore). The store itself has a huge parking lot so it's easy to find a place to park, close to one of the entrances. This is my first time shopping in the store in Warwick, Rhode Island yesterday I had to pick a few things up for a housesitting job that I was sitting at and there is some groceries and they are the same prices here as they did back home I actually live in Massachusetts, which is rare. I picked up everything I needed. Unfortunately I did have to get a paycheck for one item I was interested in they didn't have but that's typical of any store. If there's something is really good or the price is reasonable or is fresh and you run out people do giving checks and that's the good part about it. Plus one of the good things about Stop & Shop. They have a never ending rain check you can get one and keep it for as long as you need to get the project you're looking for. read more

I am in this store at least three or four times a week. I have not yet grasped planning meals a week in advance - and I like to keep lots of fresh produce in the house and that pretty much mandates frequent grocery runs. This location is not a SUPER Stop and Shop...don't know what it would need to bring it into that category. A pharmacy, maybe? It does have everything else I look for at a basic market and then some...floral, cards, deli and a seafood department. Deli is well-stocked with Boars Head products. Not a whole lot local going on - the only ones I've noted is Central Falls provisions and Narrangansett Creamery are here with limited selection. Seafood Department? A tad sketch...doesn't seem like it gets a lot of action. Fish and other sea living creatures are made to move...in the water and especially when it's on ice. I have bought fresh shrimp here when on sale but that would be about as far as I would go. I am super picky with my seafood, though. The size of this market is ideal for me. I don't want to lay down crumbs to find my way out. I wish they had a few more organic and whole food options. They do have a little section next to the produce department, but it's limited. I get that it's mainstream and not their niche...but even a few more organic veggie and meat choices would make me happy. Lack of those selections holds back a star. The customer service here is awesome. The cashier and stocking staff are usually very helpful. Can't think of one rude experience here. That's saying a lot considering how much I come through. Citizens bank has a seven day operation here. Convenient if you're a customer of theirs...which I'm not. I will continue to fill my cart here with our family basics... read more

For a place that charges upwards of $13.00 /lb for some meats, you'd think the service would be cordial at a minimum. Here at a full service supermarket you would think that when there are five employees at the deli counter and only one slicing, perhaps a couple of the employees working on orders for pick up later on would jump on a slicer and say "I'll be right with you." You would think that at a relatively new store presumably trying to build loyalty among area shoppers, you would get at least some level of care from the staff. NOT EXACTLY! The prices at this Stop & Shop are as high as anywhere and the management seems content to have warm bodies clocking in and out periodically, delivering marginal work performance wearing long faces. If I didn't live in Greenwood with this place 3 blocks from home when I'm in a pinch for some missing ingredient, I would never set foot in here. This is my least favorite place to shop in RI. Honestly, the Store Manager should be fired and the current crew of irritable, unbecoming deli clerks should be read the riot act. BE NICE and show a little HUSTLE or PLEASE JUST LEAVE! read more

First you have to know something....I worked at a family owned grocery store for 15 years until the Big Boys finally did it in. I was very sad to see our great little store go, but that is life. This Stop and Shop took its place if you will... it is convenient and just ok. I actually would have given it two stars except for that the managers have been very kind to our local elementary school and donated to our events. Also they have the A+ program and the Gas bonus which saved it to 3 stars. The employees are fair at best, they just dont care that much. I might be biased because when I worked at a grocery store, I always said "hi" to everyone and would go out of my way to help people. I would order products if we didnt have it on our shelves, bring the groceries to people's cars, even just helping the "height challenged" customers get the items off the top shelf. That being said, this grocery store is there if you need it. The prices are ok I guess, but you better have the Stop and Shop card for the discounts, cant you just lower your prices?? Just a thought. The store clean, but it is also fairly new, some stores get old looking quick, hopefully they keep it nice. They do a decent job of keeping it stocked including the sale items, that is important. It is not a SUPER stop and shop, but the selection is still good. Grocery stores use to be a place where you would see your neighbors, talk, take your time and enjoy the time you were shopping. But times change and we as a society have changed. Grocery stores are now a run in and quickly get what you want, self check out, and go....head down, dont say hi anyone, just do your business and get out. To me, that is sad. I miss our family store, and all the extra good that it brought to the neighborhood. But again, that is life. read more

A store employee racially discriminated against my daughter while she was shopping and cashing out. She left in tears because an employee made it seem like she was trying to steal when the self checkout register wouldn't scan an item and basically all the employee had to do was scan the item or type in the item number for a candy bar instead of making it seem like she was going to steal. This is a nice, clean and well stocked store. Lots of self-checkout lines get you in and out quickly.

It is a well stocked and clean place. I do not think it is well known as it is rarely busy. It is a great place to quickly do your shopping and then get right onto 95. The only draw back is I would like to see a larger prepared food section. read more

Buyers beware. Stop and Shop on Greenwich Ave, Warwick, is not taking returns of any kind. My son bought a steak there two days ago and found mold on it. He tried to return it on 3/28/20, but was told he could not. He asked for his money back and they said no. Now most people would say it's because of the Coronavirus. Nope. It's because they don't want the hoarders coming back trying to return things they didn't need! So, please check your items thoroughly before purchasing. Plus, I'm not sure if this rule applies to all Stop and Shops or just this one. read more

Another place with horrible service. If you go in the early morning, the only cashier is this heavy older lady who is not only very slow, but very rude as well. Sure, there is self checkout. Just your typical average grocery store, until uh oh you have to use the bathroom. Three stalls. Last one, the handicapped one, absolutely no latch on door whatsoever. Middle stall closed due to "poop problems" according to the hand drawn sign, complete with a pic of a pile of poop drawn on it. no word of a lie, if my camera phone worked I'd attach the picture. Third stall, had a latch that if you jimmy rigged it, sort of worked. Floor was soaked from the poopy problem next door, and no hook for my handbag. And the seat was beyond broken and covered in urine. So as I hover clutching my purse trying to avoid the puddles off poo water I vowed to never ever ever use this bathroom again. I hope and pray that this is not the bathroom the employees have to use, you know like the people that handle our food. Beyond beyond beyond grossed out of my mind. read more

Bought a rotisserie chicken last night, not fully cooked, brought it back tried to tell them the problem, had to prove to them that others on the shelf were not cooked. They finally gave me a knife to cut it myself. Told the manager that @ the leg socket it was pink & raw on the one they tried to give me for free. Needless. To say all of that batch was bad. I am not one to complain and if I do, not publically. However, after my experience I feel I have to say something. I went to Stop and Shop to do my weekly shopping I was so upset with the store employees that I refuse to give Stop and Shop one more cent of my hard earned money. I'd first like to say that I don't mind grocery shopping; I always treat the employees with respect and with a smile. I understand that they have a job to do, but I also expect as a paying customer that I am treated well, and that I am not an inconvenience for shopping in their store. With the exception of the deli today, the employees at Stop and Shop solidified why I am no longer going to shop at any of their stores. This was my experience today within a 20 minute visit. 1. I asked an employee which aisle an item was down, he said aisle "A" or "B", it was not down either of the aisle he said. Not a big deal, maybe he was new. 2. Politely I asked twice if the employee stocking could move while I grabbed what I needed. He seemed put out that I was making him move so I could buy my groceries. Why aren't the shelves stocked at night? This is a problem no matter if I am in the store in the morning, afternoon or evening. 3. The cashier was less than friendly. Only after I said" hello" and "how you are you?" to the cashier, did I receive any communication from the cashier. Again a common reoccurrence at this Stop and Shop, it is more typical than not to hear the cashiers and baggers complaining and make you feel like you are putting them out at the checkout. I do not do self check out because it is always an issue if you bring your own bags and typically my orders are too large to smoothly use the self checkout lanes. 4. I typically bag my own groceries, this time I did not (lesson learned). When I took one of the bags out of the back seat of my car, the seat was covered in milk. The bagger laid the milk down on its side and the milk leaked out through my reusable bag, onto my seat. My seats are leather with holes so the leather can breathe. Now I am worried that in a few days the milk that seeped into my back seat will begin to smell like sour milk. 5. This store is ALWAYS filthy and the shelves are never fully stocked (refer back to number 2) 6. This is the kicker, a supervisor (whom was an adult), was talking down to an employee (teenager/young adult). There is NO excuse to talk down or reprimand an employee in front of anyone. This is my Stop-N-Shop of choice in Warwick. Never too crowded and close to home/work. The employees and customers in this Stop-N-Shop are friendly and they appreciate and support our military (as I usually wear my uniform into the store to grab a quick lunch). Easy access from Greenwich Road and parking lot is never overly packed. Also, there is a Lowes, Subway, Hair Cuttery, and Salon (not that I ever go in there) in the neighboring strip mall so you can knock out a couple of errands while you're in this shopping strip. read more

Location is close to home and it is easy to get in and out of there in under an hour even for a full shopping trip. This was one of the worst stop and shop stores I have ever been to. The "customer service" desk was rude and not interested in helping me with my request. This was an evening shift so maybe it's different during the day. The person behind the desk barely spoke English, which I think it's important that they do speak the language of our country, and also was very loud, almost screaming at me! So I live in Cranston where within 2 miles of my apartment there are 2 Stop in Shops but I would prefer to wait until after work to go to this one. It's clean and I always find everything I am looking for here. The produce and deli is far superior to many other stores I have gone to and typically I am able to avoid lines using Scan-It as I go and one of the many self-checkout lines. Definitely would recommend this to anyone in the area as the S&S of choice. read more

Just moved to the area...went in one day (It was my sons birthday.) Wanted to buy him a cake...went to the bakery to pick one up, asked the guy who worked in that department if he could write a simple happy birthday on it, he said yes (with an attitude)...he gave it back to me and my 4 year old daughter could have wrote it neater, but I was in a rush and decided to wing it. Then went to pay for it lines were ridiculous 2 cashiers and one was working on a WIC order. Decided to go to self checkout...the cake would not scan...I asked the guy at the kiosk if he could punch in the numbers...he huffed and puffed then flipped the cake over to get it to scan. By him doing this the already ugly cake bc the writing was awful was worse. I then told him I'm not paying for that and why would he even think flipping a birthday cake to scan it would be the smart thing to do?? Absolutely mortified I went back to bakery and asked the guy to re write it on another cake after I explained what had happened. He told me that i still needed to pay for it. That was the funniest thing anyone has ever said to me. I left and went to the stop n shop on cowesett much much better. I wont be back. read more

This is one of the most disgusting stop and shops I have ever been in. It looks and smells like someone pissed all over the walls in the bathroom a week ago and no one ever cleaned it up. The food shelves have visible layers of dust on them, and the produce containers have a layer of black grime. It's incredibly congested, it's bigger than most stop and shops but there's no room to move around, the manager but be a moron to allow the store to be set up like that. One person standing in the entry way and it's completely clogged up, no one can move at all. Most of the cards are kept outside, so be prepared to have to wear winter gloves while shopping because the carts get FREEZING cold. Raining? Don't go shopping unless you want to put all of your food on a wet cart. The prepared food section is just plain nasty, I got a bag of fried chicken and it was all crusty and hard, I couldn't find any real pieces of meat. Just a bunch of scraps that couldn't be put in anything else, were fried and sold as actual chicken. This place is a disgrace. read more

Exceedingly LONG checkout lines and an overabundance of young cahniers more interested in conversing with their friends/youthful workmates than SERVING paying customers.
