Ever since moving to RI, I have been to Farm Fresh Providence Farmers Market multiple times. The prices are a bit more than a local supermarket, but I still enjoy checking out the local farms produce and items. There is something for everyone-honey, kimchi, and so much more. The most recent time I went, there were even alpacas that you can pet. At Farm Fresh RI Market Hall, there are also some other local businesses that you can check out. Some are Anchor Toffee, New Harvest Coffee Roasters, Providence Brewing Company, Rhed's Hot Sauce, Tallulah's Taqueria, and Wright's Creamery. Also, there are usually food trucks outside. But then I discovered this little gem! This is a smaller market, but I find this to be less overwhelming then the larger ones. There were a lot of farms I was unfamiliar with and they were all very friendly and had plenty of variety to choose from. The prices here are in most cases almost 50% cheaper then what I've seen at Hope St. We walked away with some delicious and sweet corn that was only 35¢ an ear, patty pan squash for 50¢ each, pint of cherry tomatoes for $1.50 . . . you get the idea. We had a fantastic dinner when we got home! So mad at myself for not finding this market sooner, it will certainly make it's way into my weekly shopping routine.

A healthy monstera (no bugs, no root rot, no distress, no disease) for under $20 is always a win in my book. Then I realized that there were probably at least a few individual plants within this one grower pot. I'm a green thumb but I'm also a very busy green thumb, so it took me an embarrassingly long time to get the proper soil for this project. I finally tackled the task of separating & repotting this plant this past weekend. You know those scarves that clowns pull out of questionable places that just keep going & going & going & going & going? & that's the whole bit? Well that was me with separating this monstera. I was the clown & the monstera was the scarf. Any guesses as to how many viable separate plants I divided the original into? My guess (prior to tackling this task) was ~8. The verdict: 20. That's right. I just kept separating more & more & more plants off of the original mama monstera until I had a comical pile of little lads in front of me. So anyways, now everyone I know is getting a baby monstera as a gift from me for any occasion for the next foreseeable future. I have 5 monsteras in pots & another army of monsteras propagating in water. Talk about bang for my buck. $16 for one monstera was already exciting but $16 for 20 monsteras? Unbelievable. I fell in love with Japanese stuff when I was a child and this place is a wonderland of food and items. After thinking about it, I decided to visit Anchor Toffee located in Farm Fresh Rhode Island. Anchor Toffee has handcrafted candy & toffee made in Providence, Rhode Island. When you walk into Anchor Toffee, there are a few samples and the items are displayed very nicely. I found a box of different flavored Saltwater Taffy and a box contains approximately 60-65 pieces. The saltwater taffy is made the New England way - in small copper kettle batches with just a kiss of real sea salt. This was perfect and it was only $9.30. My colleagues really enjoyed the taffy! I also purchased a 2 oz bag of Coconut Almond Toffee for $5.20. It had good flavor. The cashier was very friendly. I recommend visiting Anchor Toffee.
