Walked in on a Sunday afternoon coz I built up a shawarma craving from being in the area. Not a sole inside but that didn't stop me. I actually really like the bread/wrap they use. Crisped up but not too much. The whole wrap is about a foot long and filled me up QUICK. I wish the garlic sauce/toum was a little more punchy in flavour. I also thought they could have been more generous with the pickles. I'm still trying to figure out who has the best shawarma in Houston...this was decent. No pics as I scarfed this down as soon as I got in my car. read more

Our family is fasting from meat for lent, which limits our options, especially when dining out. We visited Shawarma Land - and let me tell you. This was one of the best mom-and-pop shop experiences we've ever had. We came specifically for the falafel wrap - four of us, we ordered 6 thinking our teens would still be hungry. At $8.99 each, we figured they would be regular sized. Nope. They were HUGE, and loaded with the RIGHT toppings - pickled turnips, Armenian pickles, lettuce, tomato - tahini sauce. We also ordered the Mediterranean salad (yummy), hummus (yummy) and fries ('normal' yummy). The best part - the owner was so kind and offered for us to participate in Iftar. HIGHLY recommend. Whoa I don't know how I didn't find this place sooner. Absolutely amazing shawarma. Tried the chicken and it was very tender and juicy. Chicken shawarma arabi - 9/10 - One of the most flavorful and sauciest shawarmas ive tried. Also crispy, which i loved. Chicken tawooq wrap - 9/10 - So crispy and flavorful. It was a bit greasy tho. Beef kafta plate - 8/10 - Tasty and the beef was juicy but a bit bland. Fries - 9/10 - Seasoned and crispy, loved these with the garlic sauce. I was craving a shawarma for lunch and was hopeful to find a place close to the office. What I didn't realize is that this place would be one that is now my go to when I'm on this side of town! They had all five stars on here so I knew I'd be in for a treat, and I was right! Came in and the place was super clean and had vibrant colors and paintings on the wall. Wasnt sure what i wanted, I always say ill try something new but in this case, i saw the huge chicken and beef spinning on the fire and just knew i had to go with the chicken shawarma! I asked if they could cut mine in half vs how it shows it comes bc I knew I wouldn't be able to finish it and wanted to wrap up the rest for later! As the meal arrived, I could smell just how good it was going to be. My co worker who joined me but wasn't hungry for lunch was contemplating if she should in fact order food for later!! This was one of the best shawarmas I've ever had. It was flavored deliciously and so fresh, and the bread so warm, and every bite had that amazing garlic sauce that drizzled down my hand as I ate more and more! I was in heaven!! The fries have potential, they were seasoned nicely, but I needed them cooked for just about 60-90 seconds for the perfect crunch to have some texture. The meal came with a side of the garlic sauce also, which I drizzled more and more on throughout my meal! Good thing I didn't have any more meetings that day! Anywho, as suspected, I took the other half home so I could have it for later, and I just thought about all these delicious flavors for the rest of the day! I ate the other half the next morning and it was even better bc all the seasonings just marinated even more in the meat. I will be back, bc, I'm in love! read more

Very cordial owner. Clean and new spot for a Shawarma. There is limited menu, obviously the name indicates that. The Shawarma is not a typical Shawarma, sort of Lavish bread. The Toum Sauce is not garlic tasting enough and though they had picked turnips, the green pickles were in the shawarma. For $14.99 is expensive with a Zero Sugar Coke to me. read more

First time trying Shawarma Land, and it met my expectations. Didn't exceed it. I tried two Arabi style entrees, one chicken and one sujuk. I preferred the chicken over the sujuk surprisingly. One ding on this meal is that the wrap they use gets really hard and the contents of the bite fall out because the wrap is too rigid. Recommend microwaving if needed. I also tried the chicken shawarma wrap and it was better than the Arabi style. The bread stayed soft and was much more enjoyable. I'd still give the nod to Abu Omar over this spot for the Arabi style. I would also give the nod to Shawarma King over this spot overall. read more

super delicious chicken shawarma Shawarma Land is located in a little store complex. There's some parking in front of it, but most of the time it's full. You can find parking around the store or in nearby lots, though. The store inside is medium sized. Service is nice. We had the chicken shawarma, Sujuk shawarma, beef shawarma, and the original chicken tawooq platter. The chicken shawarma was so delicious! The chicken itself was moist, juicy, and had so much flavor! The wrap had a lot of garlic sauce as well. This was hands down my favorite item. When I'm in the area again, I'm definitely going to order this to go. Sujuk is a type of sausage. Its wrap was flavorful and tasted good, but I don't think I could eat a whole wrap of sausage. If you're a meat-heavy person, this is definitely for you. The beef shawarma wrap's ratio of veggies to sauce to meat was balanced well, and the sauce wasn't too sharp, but the actual meat itself was a little dry and needed more flavor. The chicken from the platter was also juicy and had good amount of flavor. This place's chicken dishes are hitting a solid 5/5! The rice was fluffy, could use a teensy tiny amount of more flavor, but they give a salsa with it that fixes that in no time. Highly annoyed. I arrived here at 10pm on a Friday night. Got to the counter waited about 6-7 min to order to only be told that they have nothing. That could have been said as we walked in the establishment or even as I reached the counter. The additional wait to inform me and my party that there was no food available was slightly irritating. All 3 meals were really flavorful, good quality, really well-seasoned, very juicy and so delicious. The gyros and burger are without question imo the best in TX. Ekko's and Nick The Greek are 2nd n 3rd for Greek food for me. I always got the gyros sandwich as opposed to the plate before which is odd bc I always prefer meat plates over sandwich form in other foods like bbq, steak, etc. The meat pieces were all really tasty and had some slight char to them too. The taziki sauce is always cold, creamy in feel and refreshing with a good yogurt aroma to it. It's a great bonus and the gyros didn't even need it tbh. The tomatoes were nicely refreshing and the exotic, cool center dolma is always a little treat with meals here. The rice and chunky lemon potatoes with my meals were always mild but still great in texture and prep. As I said before; from my experiences in every single Greek cafe, if the taziki sauce is good, the gyros will be too. It's a solid symptom and indicator imo. As for the burger, very rarely are burger places only in TX actually any good for the past 15 years. So many are just average or below lacking seasoning or a great overall flavor. Niko Niko's, Goode Company Hamburgers and TX Hamburger Palace are my top 3 in that order for it. Each different too. The brioche buns were just the right thickness and very soft to make the beef patty stick out well. The patty was so nice in charbroiled taste, saltiness, richness, beefiness and tender in every bite. A good burger doesn't need much in toppings, but cool, refreshing, tomatoes are a must for me and pickles add some tangy crunch too. For steak rare, but for a burger medium to medium rare. I had never seen or heard of their Greek Spaghetti n Meat Sauce before. This was like a Greek Bolognese with a lot of love in its flavor. The noodles were drained, very moist and so soft. I don't like too much cheese, so I took some off, but still like some. The meat sauce gravy itself was really flavorful, savory, fatty enough and had that subtle sweet, warm spice aroma you get in the Greek lasagna. I like to get dessert here sometimes when I have extra room, bc they have some great options like their galaktobourreko, chocolate ganache cake, etc. The service was very welcoming, friendly and efficient on these visits.

The cheese pide was good and a very large portion size. I wish there were some vegetables added however. The dough was delicious. Istanbul grill does make good bread. The pita bread was also good, very soft, and tasted fresh. It was busy on a Saturday night. Decor is minimal inside and ambiance was family friendly. Most of the tables were families with children. I will note that the interior was on the warmer side for a November night. Overall likely would not return just because of limited vegetarian food.
